Pros: The place smells wonderful, from the floral smell that hits at the door, the wonderful food smells in the elevator to the clean room smell, this is a beautiful place to stay. The view of the city is lovely, and the room good sized. We have the option of luxurious bath tub or rain type shower. There are two sinks, and the bed is of course most comfortable with light control buttons on the nightstand. The toilet is automatic, and I do believe the seats are heated somehow. The staff is attentive and courteous. Location is close to trendy restaurants and shopping.
Cons: I wish we had time to experience the spa services and pool area, but we had to dash. The price was expensive, to be expected for the luxury, but still, expensive.

Pros: Please Google "Shanghai Scam" if you are visiting. Location of hotel was good. It's one block from a major pedestrian shopping mall and you can easily walk to the river or to the square. The hotel room we got was a king and was really nice. It had a huge room and the bathroom was really nice also.
Cons: The A/C in our room didn't work. We notified reception and they sent an engineer to fix it and it worked for 36 or so hours after that and then blew warm air again. The reception staff said all the rooms A/C are bad and there was no point in moving us to another room. She said it's because the A/C units are old and the outside air is too warm to cool.

Pros: The location of the hotel makes it easy to access to nearby restaurant and shopping malls. I appreciate that the front desk staff agreed to give me a higher-floor room.
Cons: Waited way too long for checking out --- should have more staff at peak hours. Had to do printing at the hotel and cost was almost one dollar per sheet. The price was ok and I understand that different hotels have different policies and amenities but it would have been a nice gesture for the hotel to offer complimentary printing, like the Hilton hotels I have stayed.

Pros: For a little over $100 per night this hotel is very nice. I'm surprised there's an even more upscale sister hotel Grand Central next door! The rooms are quite spacious and clean. The location is excellent, 3 blocks from the Metro 2 stop and right behind the famous walking street.
Cons: The staff is not the most friendly and they were doing construction in a room close by which caused quite a bit of noise early in the morning and the water in our room was shut off for half a day. With that in mind we should have gotten a price reduction on the room for the inconvenience.

Cons: One big downfall- my husband got food poisoning or something from the Aroma Restaurant Buffet. Not sure what it was he ate but he spent the next 12 hours violently evacuating it from his system. Bummer for a ¥600+ dinner. :(
