Absolutely horrible experience. A classical bait and switch operation. Sleazy to the core. It was " either you will pay four time as much as we advertised and agreed to charge, or we will not rent you a car", specifically targeting customers that didn't buy third party insurance through them. I ended up taking a taxi and renting a car next day from a competitor without any problems. Avis at Sarajevo airport is a disgrace to the Avis name. The man behind the counter had a name tag that said his name was Ermin Kovacevic, in case that Avis wants to do something to clean up the cesspool that is Avis Sarajevo airport office. I chose to rent with Avis exactly because I wanted to avoid situations like this, thinking that a well established company would have high standards and good customer service. Nope, I got exactly the opposite. Avoid Avis Sarajevo airport like a plague!Reviewed 2026 Feb 25
