First off, they upcharged me over double what the original quote was through your website. Secondly, they didn’t actually have the vehicle when I went to pick it up, and instead, tried to give me a minivan or a truck which would have cost significantly more money. So I went out to the airport because it was the only place still open that likely had a regular midsized car. Then, they failed to email me the estimated bill, and when I called to ask for it, two customer service reps told me that they couldn’t possibly find it because it didn’t exist, which it did. The third rep found it easily and gave me at least some of the information I wanted. I found out they were charging me about 190 dollars a day, for a Nissan Altima. Also, they wanted it back at 6pm due to that being the originally selected pickup/drop-off time, despite the fact that I didn’t actually pick up the vehicle until after 8pm due to their failure to have the vehicle they claimed they had. I took the vehicle back a day early to escape at least a day of their predatorily high pricing. I will never do business with Avis/Budget again, nor will I ever use Kayak again, because it was your website that gave me the original quote that was nowhere near the final quote, and that told me the vehicle was in stock. I will be telling everybody I know to stay away from that company as well as yours, because those inaccuracies cost me hundreds of dollars for absolutely no reason. Perhaps your company should spend a little of that advertising money on fixing your service to the point that it gives accurate quotes and the products from those quotes are actually available.

A very long line at the Burlington airport. No fault of AVIS staff, who were expeditious, but I still had to stand in line even though I'm an AVIS member and had checked in online the previous day. I thought I'd just be able to pick up the key and get my car

So, my experience with Avis was horrible. Specifically, when checking in to pick up my rental car, they suddenly indicated that I was not able to rent a car from Avis due to a previous problem. As a customer, I have never failed to pay or live up to my responsibilities, yet they insisted I was basically a persona non grata. This denial caused me significant stress, both financial and scheduling difficulties, as I was forced to rent a another vehicle at significantly increased cost. I am extremely dissatisfied and am currently advising all my contacts never to book in a rental car with kayak or Avis ever! They were the worst.

I was expecting a little bit larger SUV. I was anticipating a Chevy Blazer, and I got a Chevy Trailblazer, which was smaller. I had two other adults with me, and we had trouble putting our bags into the Trailblazer.

Reserved intermediate SUV months in advance. Got there and had to wait an hour before they even had a car. Then, received an extra small suv. So small, my passengers had to hold luggage in their laps. Even worse, manager refused to give us the right size car (there were 4 in the lot), refused to adjust the rate for giving us a smaller car - - indicated, I can adjust rhe rate, but I’ll charge you more because today’s rates are higher - - essentially - we raised prices so you don’t get what we agreed to when the reservation was made. Them their customer service is just as useless. They can’t call the local store, can’t adjust the rate themselves, and are unable to see the inventory at other locations. Literally the only thing they could do was to tell me to drive the wrong car to another location — ofcourse they didn’t know where any other locations were or if any had the vehicle reaerved. Not to mention, the only other location had already closed for the day (it was 6 pm). Never ever rent from Avis or Budget - their associates are as worthless as their company.
