Cons:Horrible experience with this company. I made a reservation online for $104 and was originally very happy with this price. We arrived at the airport and waited for over 30 minutes for a shuttle while watching shuttles for other rental car companies go by 3-4 times each. USAVE San Juan, PR is just one guy at a desk in the corner of a tiny office in a strip mall. The guy driving the shuttle dropped one of our bags and broke something. Then we get to the guy behind the counter and he tells us smugly that the rental is actually going to be triple the price. There are multiple hidden fees that he would not explain to us. He said we had to pay for insurance, even though we had proof our insurance company covered rental cars in Puerto Rico. Insurance was going to be over $100 alone. Everyone in the shuttle with us left with the same problems- nobody actually got a rental from USAVE. I watched the guy behind the counter made several people cry because he was so rude. I have no idea how they stay in business other than the fact they still charged my credit card for the reservation. I am disputing this charge now. This company's business is a classic bait and switch- they get people coming after a long day of traveling, stuck away from the airport or any other place, and then force increased fees. Please do not make a reservation at this company- for your sake and so maybe they will eventually go out of business! The price is a lie, and so is the fact you need to buy their insurance to get a rental. No one else we talked to in Puerto Rico had this problem. You legally have the choice to waive their extra insurance. What USAVE is doing is illegal and they should be put out of business.

Pros:When I landed, the rental agency was closed. They knew what time my flight was coming in but they did not notify me when I booked the reservation that their office would be closed when my flight arrived. I called the national number. They said if I called the local number someone would pick up. They didn't. National number also said they would have someone call me back as soon as they opened in the morning. They did not. I called the national number several times in the morning but kept getting sent to voicemail with a promise they'd call me back. They never did. Finally called the local number in the morning. He asked what time I arrived the night before and said they were closed at that time. (Funny... the national office said they closed at a different time... ) Local guy also said said because I had not shown the night before he'd canceled the rental. I asked how could he help me now. He just said he couldn't. Told me to go online to rent a car from them. I went online and the site said to call the local office to rent a car. At that point I just gave up.

Pros:The weather on the day of pick up was pretty good.
Cons:The Alianz insurance I paid for during the online booking process only covered me for personal injury. When I arrived at U-save, I was forced to pay extra for the mandatory liability insurance required by the state of California. I had paid for two types of insurance and still had no cover on the actual car I was driving. I've rented cars through a number of companies in L.A and wasn't surprised to be screwed with the insurance. There's room in the market for a rental company with transperancy, maybe U-save could be the change.

Cons:The representative at Athens airport was not present. Nobody answered the phone in the local office and the American 1800 number had a voice message that the office is closed. We had to rent on site from a company with a real office. 2 hours later the local company called us, when we were long gone. The person did not apologise and did no offer any compensation. Will never approach them again.

Pros:The price but then discovered it was all lies
Cons:Got wrong address for pickup had to walk half and hour to actual location that I had to find thru a hotel because the customer service phone numbers only went to answering machines. Could not get in touch with any usave employee or office. Then when I arrived even though I had researched and received a email stating I would have unlimited miles they informed me there was a limit of 200 miles a day. This ruined my trip because I had to find an alternative and with all the delays I missed my appointments for the day. I couldn't even call to complain to anyone and I will likely not use kayak anymore for rentals I will contact the companies directly because of this unreal hassle and horrible service

Cons:Our plane info was provided so we could get picked up....no one showed for nearly two hours. Then we drove to the boonies to get our car (which wasn't the type we signed up for) which took over an hour for paperwork. Finally, they didn't have a working/safe car seat which we requested ahead of time. They had already charged us and we had to wait to be refunded—they withheld $106 as "commission" for simply driving us from the airport and for their time. We didn't even get IN the car (which was also covered In scratches/dents/gauges). We were forced to get a ride BACK TO THE AIRPORT after nearly three hours to rent from an ACTUAL rental service. DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL AGENCY. It is not only a waste of time and money, but it's a sham and a lie completely.

Cons:Everything was pretty much awful. We waited a very long time at the airport, to be picked up. There was a lot of confusion as to whom was to do what. Once we finally got to the office there was no electricity. After we got the vehicle and drove a few miles, we realized that the air conditioning didn't work but we drove to our resort anyway. Once we arrived I called them but of course no one answered. Fortunately, I wrote the number of the young man who picked us up in case they're were any issues. After reaching him by phone, I was able to speak to the office manager and asked her to come get the car and to their credit they did. Somehow U-save turned into Larry's car rental. After several emails, I finally was issued a credit for the entire amount on March 8th. It was like pulling teeth. I think that the threat of responding to your Kayak inquiry, helped to get the credit. I did do business with Prestige car rental that had very nice cars at a comparable price. I own an apartment on the French side and warned my family not to use U-save ever.
