Pros:We originally reserved a Jeep Wrangler for touring Puerto Rico but ended up with more luggage than expected. We were easily able to upgrade to a Nissan Rogue which was more than comfortable for our family of 4 plus 6 suitcases (upgrade did cost extra $300 for the week though).
Cons:Our original flight was delayed do we didn't arrive at the rental office until very late at night. There were only 2 people working and took them 1 1.5 hours to process us plus 1 other family. When we brought the car back to a satellite office right across from our hotel we were hassled by the check in attendant who claimed we had a small dent in the passenger door and wanted us to file a claim with our insurance company! We took the car back to the main rental office (losing the rest of our vacation beach time) and they ended up taking the car without any claim since the dent was so small you couldn't really even see it.

Pros:Very good starting price. Fast check out. Good car fleet.
Cons:Big extra charge for pick up - drop off !? Charge for facility !? Need improve waiting line procedure. Need more current info about car availability. Need more English spoken personal.

2.0 Poor
Cons:Despite a reservation I was flippantly told there was no car available. No one ever answered the phone at this business. This place is completely unreliable. And they just don't care.

Cons:when we arrived the clerk behind the desk said "your reservation was set for 9:00PM this evening, please take a 17 person van and return this evening or tomorrow morning to pick up your mini van." when i reviewed the invoice i noticed the clerk inserted a line for insurance that i would pay. i told him we have insurance he said "no problem, when you return show us the policy number and name you'll be fine" So the next morning I called United to see if the Mini Van had indeed arrived back, the reply was no. So I repeatedly called for several days. When i finally gave up after the 3rd day. after 7 days i returned the car, and asked that the insurance be removed and he said "NO" you signed the agreement that you would pay. I told the clerk the agreement of 7 days ago he said "look you signed our agreement" they are a fraudulent the manager has zero interest in customer satisfaction.

7.2 Good
Pros:The price was great and the vehicle was in very good condition. No problems.
Cons:Pick-up took at least 30 minutes and I was the first person in line (the attendant was on the phone when I got there). Their computer system was apparently having problems, but still it took forever. Much more of a hassle than typical for other places. Drop-off was almost as bad. It took 10-15 minutes just to drop the car off because of limited staff, split time with phones, slow systems, etc. In the end it's worth it for the low cost, but still quite frustrating.

5.2 Fair
Cons:Took nearly an hour to be picked up by their van at the airport, even after calling 3 times and being told that the van would be there in "5-10 minutes" or "it's one minute away". And our plane arrived at about 2:30 AM so it wasn't like there were a lot of other flights/people to compete with (we ended up being the only people on the van and in the office). Had I known better (we'd never been to Puerto Rico before) I would have just gone with one of the more recognized rental companies that were on-airport, since the cost probably wasn't that much different. The rest of the rental was OK and I guess there is nothing one can do about the taxes that added significantly to the cost of the rental, but I definitely felt that we got ripped off with the charges for the toll booth pass (activation fee, daily use fee) and wish I had known about that before we arrived so I could have compared policies and prices to the other rental agencies.

Pros:NOTHING!
Cons:Never rent a car from Allied or EZ in Puerto Rico. I arrived in Aguadilla, PR at 4am with my boyfriend and his son. Allied doesn't have a location within the airport so they were supposed to send a shuttle. I called them repeatedly for over an hour and no one picked up. Finally I spoke to someone who said that he didn't have any cars right now but he was going to call me right back. He never called back so I had to call him after 20 minutes and he said he might have one in an hour and that he would call me right back. He never called back. I called again and told him to have the shuttle at least pick us up. He said he would be on his way and confirmed that he still thought there was a car for me. After 30 minutes of waiting for the shuttle I called again and someone else answered. I filled him in on what the other person had said and asked if the shuttle was coming. The new person laughed at me and said that no one was coming in the shuttle. That the other person had gone home and that there was no car for me. He thought it was hilarious. They are the worst. Don't bother.
