There was no car there for us! Our weekend was ruinedReviewed 2026 Sept 10

This was quite the nightmare to be honest. They did not have the reservation at all. Why did I even make the reservation through Kayak? How do I know if I can ever trust Kayak if the reservation I made does not exist? I had to pay 4X the amount to a different rental company. You can imagine how infuriating it can be to have to find a rental car agency at the very last minute, moments before needing to check out of the AirBnB, in a foreign country whose language is also foreign. This costed me hundreds of dollars and hours of stress. How do I avoid this in the future?Reviewed 2026 Mar 29

They could not find our reservation and told us we needed to make a new one. They could not honor the price and we paid 3x more than our original price. They said it's a communication issue between Kayak and the local car rental company Budget/Unidas. It is very frustrating to plan and and face this inconvenient & expensive 'surprises' on the spot. I will never again book anything using Kayak as a third party.Reviewed 2025 Nov 18
