Big mistakePros:Nothing, they were rude and expensive.Cons:My flight got delayed it would not allow me to pick up the car early the next morning because they closed at 7 p.m. Instead the insisted that I pay double for my entire rental period.Reviewed 2018 Apr 05

Rented a solid new pick up truck. Staff is A+Pros:Got a good deal through kayak on a pick up truck. Everything went flawlessly while taking delivery. They had received my reservation through kayak and had all info correct. We went over different insurance plans. I got the second to highest out of personal preference. Truck was in good shape aesthetically. Tires were about 60% but still more than enough for off-roading. Truck was clean all around with 18,000km. We went over spare tire and tools and we marked tiny scratches here and there and I was on my way. Truck performed flawlessly over off-road terrain and at highway speeds. If possible, get either the Hilux or Prado as they are both equally well suited for Nica. Had absolutely zero issues at drop off.Cons:Front driver side turn signal bulb was out and i didn’t notice until I had hit the road. Keep in mind that obligatory insurance is not included in kayak price. But still a good deal.Reviewed 2018 Mar 20

In Nicaragua they force a $14 insurance per day on top rental priceCons:Took forever to get our car. Then they forced us into paying $14 a day for added insurance. I had called my auto insurance and credit company and was well aware that we didn't need it and that if we got added insurance they wouldn't cover a thing. Yet, they wouldn't let us rent the car without adding that. So the price I thought I'd pay for two weeks was going to be great.... After all that we ended up paying quite a lot! Really frustrating! Then the "economy car" was pretty much a mini car. ;/ Could have been the country we were in, but they could have spelled these things out much more clearly so we'd know what we really owed when we got there.Reviewed 2018 Feb 23

Nice car. Goid servicePros:The car was ready, very clean and handy and we were expected at the airport. I am quite satisfied. Dollar company quite easy to locate in Managua airport. People quite kind and helpfull. Kayak answered promptly to my question. However I would prefer a telephone number which could be easier.Cons:Very difficult to reach the company dollar from France. Impossible to have a phone number. It would be highly appreciated to have the exact total amount of the rental before getting to the airport. The taxes and additionnal fees are a really bad surprise and almost double the initial announnced cost.Reviewed 2017 Apr 18

Suzuki Grand Vitara rentalPros:Car worked well, we did use the 4WD on two occasions and we're glad to have it. Previous rental in Nicaragua did not have 4WD, so we learned from that. You must be OK with manual transmission. Main roads are fine but to get to hot springs, some beaches, waterfalls roads are rough.Reviewed 2017 Jan 23

great experiencePros:easy to book great staff at pickup/dropoffCons:we were charged a mandatory Nicaraguan 'insurance' fee that was not noted at time of online booking... the fee added almost $200 to our booking which is a lot, and the agent at the pickup said it should'be been on the website as it is a nationwide policy. not very impressed to fork out additional $200 because of an oversight on your partReviewed 2016 Dec 13
