Cons: More details to carry in your head and misplace: since I forget the small aircraft does not allow normal carryon, mine had to be checked. Since I disallowed online check in at IBEX-ANA and also American Air connecting domestic flight, I had to claim checked back and recheck again at gate of international terminal in Tokyo, thus loosing about an hour of my day. Without the 13 digit eticket for AA, the bag could not be assigned to int'l flight/port of entry. Therefore to fix the problem, aircraft disallowing normal carryon need a BIG NOTICE that travelers should expect to suffer the luggage checkin/reclaim experience.
