Key West hotels near San Carlos Institute

Cons: when booking online disclose all the hidden charges, they advertise a reasonable rate then hit you with high parking fees, then high resort fees, i could have stayed in a better place if i had known the true cost. and they don't disclose till you show up and can't cancel your reservation. i call that a bait and switch.

Cons: Towels are not available at the swimming pools after mid-afternoon; take towels from your room. We sat at a table under the umbrellas outside the Yellowfin Bar & Grill in the afternoon and were completely ignored by the servers; somebody passing by could have stopped by to say "You have to order at the bar". The mandatory resort fees are high.

Cons: Resturant hours during the summer were limited. Nobody cares. Restaurants are everywhere.

Cons: Very new hotel. As such they have not worked the kinks out of the system yet. When the toilet was broken and we had to switch rooms it took hours of them running around and me talking to people to do so. Then when I talked to management the next day they would only give my a pittance of a discount on the next nights stay. We missed our dinner... I was upset. It should be a comped night no questions asked for what we went through.

Cons: Not so many fees. We arrived an hour early to check in and they wanted to charge us $40.

Cons: Hotel was expensive and they still charge $35 a day for parking. The breakfast was expensive and not very good.

Cons: Mediocre food at pool Good service but they should improve their recipes

Cons: Price wise a far bit on the high side, but its KW.

Cons: My only suggestion is to watch for those extra fees (resort fee, parking fee, room amenities...). It was a bit much on top of the already expensive cost per night.

Cons: 3 roaches + checked into a dirty room....but staff made it right.

Cons: The price. All in all, it ended up costing us over $700 for one night and this was a room without a view and with a “lanai” that was more of a very, mini balcony. Keeping in mind when you are in Key West, you don’ t spend much time in your room, I can complain that much - just next time I won’t book such a nice place :)

Cons: Kyack asked would I prefer a room with better view or more space and extra towels I received none of the above. Room service cleaning was very late in day. There were days I did not think they would show at all.

Cons: 4 pm check in, tile in bathroom was very slippery resulting in a fall, no counter space in the bathroom.

Cons: Due to an event in Key West we payed 400$/night which was very expensive! The hotel would have been a great value for 150-200$/night

Cons: Parking fees are a bummer. I was sad when I heard the news. Our view from our room was a construction site...so we had to use our imaginations to see what was not there. A security guard made us uncomfortable by staring at my wife's beautiful legs. There needs to be more lizards and iguanas on the property.

Cons: The room wasy way overpriced considering there was no view and that it was not a suite.

Cons: Everything was and extra charge ie parking and breakfast. The "beach front" wasn't an ocean access which was very misleading. It was located far from most of the activities in Key West.

Cons: You have to pay for parking, the beach is nothing to rave about and mostly weeds and grass. The rooms are super tiny. To me the hotel seems appropriate as a 3 star hotel. Good thing is close to downtown and shopping.

Cons: I don't see how this is one of the most luxurious hotels in Key West. I felt completely nickled and dimed on top of the extremely high rate for the hotel. They even try to add on a donation to an undisclosed non-profit -- granted it's a minimal donation but a customer shouldn't have to opt out of giving a donation. The parking fee, considering you're so far from Duval Street, is ridiculous and is over $21 after tax. The set-up of the rooms is far from comfortable -- a common entrance for 2 different rooms, which exacerbates the noise made by your neighbor. Furthermore, so much construction was going on around the hotel that we literally had to call the hotel to find out how to enter -- they then informed us that we had to enter through Hyatt's parking lot. I honestly couldn't wait to check out, but even that caused problems as they made me wait in line for 25 min since they only had one person working the desk. Steer clear of this hotel.

Cons: Parking was in a ground level garage; our room was on the 4th floor.

Cons: We stayed in a standard king room, which was fine size for us (without cooking amenities). What wasn't great was that it was on 1st floor which is adjacent to N. Roosevelt Blvd, so the traffic can be loud and wake you up.

Cons: no windows really ugly far from town too expensive far better options

Cons: Employees of the restaurant appeared to be uniformily grumpy. Everyone else was really nice. Not really a beach. Waterfront yes but the beach was maybe 20’ wide.

Cons: A bit expensive for a single with parking lot view and strange, shared entry foyer. I guess it is meant as a sort of adjoining room for a larger group. Every time the neighbor came and went it was two slammed doors. The doors are real loud when they close. I felt self conscious and tried to close them more quietly when I cam and went.

Cons: They are doing construction and cutting tile 9 to 5 during the week next to the pool. Should have let us know in Advance. Could not use pool or beach all day due to noise

Cons: The staff's customer service was extremely underwhelming. Front desk agents were sweet but very young and it reflected in the level of service and professionalism expected in the hospitality industry. Housekeeping had the worst attitudes anytime we requested anything as if we were inconveniencing them, they would scoff at any question! We were running a little late to the complimentary breakfast but willing to grab anything still out—the lady picking up literally pulled baskets of bagels away from us and rolled her eyes when we asked where we can could find cream cheese. I was shocked at how ugly her attitude towards us was when we are guests spending A LOT of money to stay at their locations and were very respectful towards her.

Cons: Pool was way too cold for swimming. I doubt that it was heated at all! I booked this hotel because of the heated pool!

Cons: Parking is quite a problem at this location and forcing some people to park in random lots nearby, which is never a good idea in the Keys. The ice machines never seemed to be working well. The rooms are also very small, actually uncomfortable for 4 people to be in a room with two double beds. Most likely would stay here again, but not my first choice.

Cons: It can be a bit noisy as the rooms aren't too sound proof. We were awaken both days by people in the next room or in the hallway.

Cons: the room was a little warm for me...i set the thermostat to 68 degrees and the temp never dropped below 73 degrees...

Cons: very tiny, tiny bathroom. window was to look out at Duval street. impossible. rooms to small. stayed with because was a Crowne Plaza. was the worst one ever because of size and no BKF included. only friendly staff was the valet, probably for the tip. no thank-you, have a good day from from desk when checked out

Cons: Check in was a bit rocky, after that everything was terrific.

Cons: The room had no window and was extremely dark. Light bulbs were burned out and the bedspreads were very dingy and dirty looking. For the money I paid, this was extremely disappointing.

Cons: Blood-stained pillow case, stained sheets, broken window treatments, loose shower fittings, ill-fitting shower curtain, etc.

Cons: Construction was in progress on facade, so had to use side & back entrances, but noise wasn't an issue.
