Liked getting a relatively new car. Had to wait VERY long time in line at pickup. Only one agent, and a very slow process for completing the paperwork. Also there was no staff at the airport until about 45 minutes before my flight boarded. Need to have staff there a couple hours before departure. And PLEASE do something to bring the insurance cost down! If insurance stays this high, we will take taxis instead of renting b

Friendly staff, they upgraded us to a suv that really worked out well as we were on many unpaved roads

Price of insurance was very suspicious. I was initially quoted an unreasonable amount I couldn't afford ($1062), and then the priced dropped substantially (to $697, which is still much more than anticipated) when it became apparent that I was going to be forced to cancel the rental. Additionally, there was nobody at the rental counter when I showed up at the time indicated on my reservation, so I had to wait for roughly 30 minutes before the lengthy check out process even began. It would behoove Hertz to have pre-established insurance prices, regardless of the foreign destination to avoid local price gouging.

NothingCar was not available , had to accept a lesser car Price quoted was $200 less than what they charged Me... no time to argue at airport... what my money refunded .... crooks

They charged us a daily insurance that we did not agree to and would not reverse the charge. The employee told my husband it would be $30 for the entire week for insurance, but they charged us $30 per day on top of our rental rate. Complete ripoffWe were overcharged for an insurance plan that we did not agree to

It could've been more reasonably priced -- $1300+ for the week.

Quoted Rate extremely wrongWe arrived at the airport in Loreto Mexico. The rate was to be $4 per day. OK I know that we should have some insurance - but in reality we have a great deal our own insurance. But I plan to add some insurance when we get there. Insurance is not 10 or 20 dollars a day, no it is $50 per day. Not only that - but you MUST buy their insurance. Anyway we decided against, just as well the city is tiny, tiny and we walked most everywere and hired a driver for out of area trip, rented a car for 1 day to look around the different beaches. So I guess the high prices forced us to see things from a different perspective.

Good dealConvenient, right outside the arrival door at the airport. This was the first time renting and we did it because it was cheaper than the cost of the shuttle to Villa del Palmar at the Islands, where our timeshare is. The car fit the 5 of us and the luggage. Return was easy even though no one was there for the turn in....No one there to turn the car in when we left, just placed the keys in the box. I had to contact ALAMO customer service after i got back home to try to get a receipt from them for the final bill, which ended up being $30 more than expected, even with the mandatory third party liability. ALAMO customer service really helped and that was appreciated.

Everything was stop notch, the only thing I just did not like watched it I got charge For the car rental but when we arrived at the airport in Loreto Mexico I had to pay the same amount for insurance even though I told him I was covered by my platinum credit card. The sales person told me they did not except credit card insurance. Other than that they gave me a brand-new car that work perfectly.

Nothing, they charged me extra $50 per day extra for the whole rentalShould be honest up front

It wasn't clear that I had to buy additional rental insurance for the car. It ended up being more than the actual rental with all the extra fees they charged. The pickup also took over an hour. I was the last person in the airport.

Online quote not what actual price for rental wasI liked that it would only have cost us $13 per day to rent a car in Mexico. But that turned out not to be the truthI didn't like that the actual rental was about $100 a day. In the end we decided not to rent the car and just took a shuttle into town. Later we found it and tell him local rental for a much better price

Felt Ripped Off!New VW Jetta was comfortable and cleanI had been quoted online $55.00 for 6 days. But at the rental I was told I had to take mandatory insurance that brought the charge to $285.00! I felt that was a ripoff but they would not let me have the car unless I agreed. I had no choice. If in fact this kind of insurance cost is required in Mexico, it should at least be disclosed on the website. I have a suspicion though it should not have been that expensive and I got ripped off.

Be careful of a tricky markup by a ridiculous peso dollar conversion. They had the exact car we reserved. We paid at the counter and all prices were quoted in US dollars. When returning the car, they showed me a bill that displayed a charge of $425 in US dollars. It also showed the price in Mexican Pesos and what looked like a favorable conversion rate. When I got home and checked my credit card bill I had actually been charged $485. Very tricky practice.

Do NOT rent from ace!!!We showed up in Loreto only to find out that there was not a car for us even though we had a reservation. We were one of 10 other travelers stuck in the same situation. FYI Ace, Fox and Mexcar are all the same company. Do not rent from any of them!!Scam!!!

Top tips for renting a car at Loreto Airport

  • Finally, you will be flying to Loreto International Airport and have a list of activities to do. Rather than waiting and hoping to catch a bus ride, the fastest way to get around is to drive yourself courtesy of car rental at Loreto Airport. Even though some people get lucky to get a taxi, there's no guarantee you'll find one waiting at Loreto International Airport (LTO) upon your arrival. Nothing should limit your tours around the resort town of Loreto. And that's where the KAYAK website comes in, so you can book through us even before your flight to LTO begins.
  • It is possible to save some costs with a Loreto Airport car rental if you make an informed choice. For starters, sign up for the most affordable fuel policy that lets you choose a car with a full tank of gas. In this case, you fill it up during the return; hence you pay the exact fuel price charged locally. That's an easy way to have some money left for use in town. Furthermore, you'll be in a position to take the shortest routes when navigating the streets. It's all about the liberty that comes with getting behind the wheel.
  • As displayed on our site, you'll find various types of vehicles. Rent a convertible if you want to have your hair blown by the wind as you drive down the coastal path to La Paz. If you have planned a road trip to La Giganta Mountain Range, you will ride more comfortably in an SUV. Perhaps a full-size sedan would suffice to chauffeur a small family through the city. A compact car is ideal for solo travel but not too far from Loreto Airport.
  • Agencies for car rentals at Loreto Airport are open for business 24/7, so there are no worries even if you arrive at night. After deboarding the plane, some rental desks are easier to spot since they are inside the terminal building. One of the companies is next to the Scotia Bank USA Loreto Airport branch. If you can't find your provider in the arrivals hall, step out and follow the signposts leading to the counters outside the terminal building. Note down the parking lot from where you picked up the car, as it is usually the return area.
  • Book your rental car at Loreto Airport at least 3 weeks before your trip in order to get a below-average price
