Budget service was OK. Car - fine. Baby sit - requested to be for kid 13-18kg but was given for 3-8 kg....

Cons:

I made my reservation informing up front about arrival time. Kayak did not let me know about possible extra charge of 200 NOK for late pick up. Budget officer informed me that this is not the 1st time when Kayak customer is being surprised with poor information and extraordinary payment. When I ask Kayak to sort it out, contact with Budget and arrange extra payment to be paid back to me, I was sent to Budget. For me the way I was handled (by surprising) is not acceptable. I had no chance to give up with transaction. Otherwise would not get a car.

Pros:

The pick up and ease was wonderful. The car was very nice.

Cons:

The drop-off was a nightmare. The drop-off location was extremely difficult to find, no signage telling us where to park, where to drop the keys, etc. We had to do a lot of guessing and walking around asking and looking for help. In the end, we weren't sure we had done the right thing or that we had left the car or the keys in the right spot. The support phone number had no answer.

The car was nice. Pickup at the airport in Stavanger was kind of slow, but relatively smooth. Did not like the process of having to go through Hertz rental agreement to have to charge the car every time. Instructions at pickup were pretty poor about Norway's autopass system with tolls, parking, etc. And extremely poor instructions at drop off. Had to hunt through a parking garage for a self service kiosk with no clear instructions on where to leave the car.

Easy pick up although we just kind of got the keys and were wished good luck! :) took a little to find the car. But got a better vehicle than what I booked for no extra charge. Staff called to remind me to have the car back inside the drop off window or pay for an extra day, that was great. Note for Norway, if you rent for 7 days that means exactly 7 days to the minute or you pay for the next day. This remains my favorite car rental company and was happy to see that the Norway experience matched what I’ve had in the US.

Pros:

We booked online from the baggage claim and picked up the car 5 minutes later. It was a great price in a very expensive place. They included a device which automatically paid tolls. No line at all to pick up or drop off.
