Cons: Had to pay and additional 20 dollars a day to park my own car. The hotel did not own the lot. The desk clerk filled out the passes incorrectly and I received a parking ticket. Took some arguing but I was able to get the hotel to reverse the parking charges so I can pay for the ticket.

Pros: The hotel was nice overall and the front staff was very friendly and efficient. The hotel seemed very clean and I was always acknowledged by the hotel staff. The hotel restaurant was very good and has amazing views. I did not encounter any problems while I was there.
Cons: I thought the hotel was in desperate need of a refresh or update. The rooms and the entire hotel seemed a bit dated. I stayed on the Captains Deck and the rooms were a bit small and did not impress. The sink did not drain properly. The most disappointing part of the trip was the breakfast which was never more than like warm at best. It come from the kitchen which is far away. The breakfast had 3 warm choices and one was always potatoes that were recycled from the night before. Not sure if I would spend that kind of money to stay at that hotel again.

Pros: The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Make sure to park in the Captain Cook garage and have your parking ticket validated. We were able to walk to dinner and shopping from our hotel - nice!

Cons: The alarm clock went off twice during the night - once at 3:00 and once at 3:15. Having flown in from 30 hours of travel from overseas, looking for a good night stay was the intention. The staff was unsympathetic and completely removed from the reality of the housekeeping blunder. Having not slept but 3 hours that night, their best offer was a gift card to stay again, stating that "We can't give you a refund - you used it, plus we could have rented the room to someone else." Give me a break.

Pros: Embassy Suites is one of my favorite hotels, and the Anchorage location is no exception. The rooms are clean and quiet. The shuttle was a lifesaver. The fitness room was excellent, as was the pool. On this trip we really relied on the laundry facilities and were pleased there were enough washers/dryers so there wasn't a wait to use them or it was very little. Since we traveled in the summer, we also relied on the blackout shades. It was a phenominal experience!

Cons: They still haven't figured out how to operate in the time of COVID. No housekeeping is fine but then please come up with a system to take out trash, refill toiletries and coffee, etc. Also the restaurant / breakfast is disorganized and it is totally unclear how to get food, too many people cutting in line because of the chaos. Also never enough people at the front desk -- large groups of airline staff checking in or out together means that regular chumps like us are left waiting in line forever.

Pros: We were supposed to get to Anchorage at 12:00 noon. Our flight was bumped, and we didn't get in until 12:00 midnight. Our luggage didn't make our plane either. We got to the hotel after midnight, the staff was excellent! They were able to give us tooth brushes, toothpaste, shaving cream and razor. Cons: The internet was "down" for three of our four days there and they didn't seem to care about fixing it. Seemed to be a little irritated that I would ask when it was going to be fixed. The swimming pool and hot tub were out of order for 2.5 of our four day stay and again they couldn't tell me when it would be functional and didn't seem to care. We were there with a grandson and the swimming was one of the main reasons we selected this motel. The front desk people were nice but were young and not very experienced or helpful. I believe there is a management problem and generally a lack of customer service. The price also was too high as compared to other area motels.

Pros: We booked a room here because it was listed as pet friendly. We paid and our reservation was confirmed. When we checked in we were told that thefe was an additional fee of 50.00 per night for our dog. This practically doubled the cost for us. We were fortunately able to cancel with a full refund and found another hotel - microtel - that was a little more pet friendly. They charged 10.00 per nite extra for the dog which was much more affordable. I wish these hotels would all list these additional fees when you book

Also no paper towels in restrooms so you have to bring a wash cloth from your room. No housekeeping. Nothing fancy about the rooms, just a couple dressers, fridge, table, folding chair and a bed with 2 flat pillows. Nothing romantic about the place, so don't expect to impress your significant other here. My fiancé says I'm not allowed to book hotels for us anymore after this. If I'd have known what I was getting into would have spent a bit more for a nicer place.

We made eye contact with several staff however, they never came to the desk to assist us. One staff member at the counter, was too busy trying to assist a contractor (not a guest) and completely ignored us. When we finally did get service, the staff member did not appreciate that we had waited so long. Then, to add insult to injury, the rooms we had requested (adjoining rooms for our children) were obviously not arranged and it took the manager about ten minutes to sort it out.

Pros: Front office desk staff was fairly good. Close proximity to airport (~5 miles). Decent view from our 11th floor window.
Cons: The carpet in the halls were quite stained, our AC in the room did not cool. The bathroom vent fan did work at all. There was a tube of caulk left on the floor. There were several things that were not clean including the bathroom counter and trim, and bathroom vent. The TV remote for the old tube-type TV did not work and the battery cover was just taped on. The staff did bring us a fan to cool off the room. That helped the temperature some, but largely the reason for running the AC unit was for cover noise so we wouldn't hear other rooms or outside noise as well as being able to close the blinds to make it darker so we could get to sleep early for our 2:30AM wake-up time for our flight.

Cons: Our room (213) was atrocious. There was a broken window. We could not put down the window blinds because they would have blocked the air conditioner which was needed to make the stuffy room tolerable. Our room was not clean - we found an empty soda bottle on the floor near the window and a bag of trash under the sink. The instructional decal was missing from our shower so we had no idea how to operate the shower. All in all a very poor experience and a bad introduction to our "trip of a lifetime" to Alaska.

Room was on the same floor as the admin offices, the exercise room and the food storage; keys on second day not working; big gap under entrance door allowing noise, light and horrible grease trap smells from the pub located below; noisy and unruly occupants; smoking area outside right below room window; room heaters not working; tv remote not working; stained sheets on first day; bathroom mold in the shower curtain nook; 1 day of no hot water; no extra toilet paper; inconsistencies with housekeeping cleaning efforts and supplies; had to beg for extra towels; dangerously high tub edge and washing machines not extracting washed requiring multiple extra runs at $2 each run.

Cons: Definitely an older place that could use a little renovation, slow elevator, old (small) TV, had some issues with the front desk staff where they messed up my reservation information and then blamed me for the mess up - this was very frustrating and pretty much ruined the whole stay there.

Pros: The first room was not vacuumed and to small for the five of us. Fortunately the family didn't complain. We were only there for 12 hours and that was enough. It was just a pace to flop and to allow us to see downtown Anchorage. I should have paid the $70 more for the Hilton downtown. The woman at the front desk moved us immedistely to a larger room with a rollaway bed. She was very pleasant and helpful. She made our stay there bare able . Kudos to her.

Pros: I booked this place on the fly for a last minute business trip. The room was ~$92 and since I was only staying there for 11 hours, the price was right. The bed was comfortable. The locks on the doors worked.
Cons: When I arrived at 9:30 pm, people were just sorta hanging out in the dimly lit parking lot. The car next to mine had interior lights on with no one inside. There was ~$60 in cash scattered around on the ground by the driver's door. I went inside and told the font desk attendant before she gave me my hotel key and she said she'd look into it. When I arrived at my room, I opened the door and found a pantless man laying in one of the beds. I apologized, walked downstairs and informed the front desk lady after she returned from the parking lot. crime scene. She apologized and asked if the pantless man was, "...at least good looking". I actually thought that was really funny- And this night was just getting stranger! She gave me another key and promised the room would be empty. On the elevator ride up, I got to hang out with two mildly drunk/drugged out early 20-somethings before arriving at my room. The bed was comfy but the heat didn't work. In an Alaskan hotel in October..the heat didn't work. Sigh...so I bundled up, enjoyed the comfy bed while the majority of my fellow hotel guests partied the night away. This is a weird place and if you're not up for that, stay far far away.

Cons: My girlfriend and i knew we would be arriving around 2am from the airport (flight arrival, 1:21am). We called ahead a couple times that night to see if this would be a problem. at around 9pm we were told sometime around 2am would be fine. upon flight arrival we called, before 2am, and were told the door would be open and/or the key would be left out- it was unclear, a red flag. we arrived just after 2am. Doors locked, no one in sight. we got into an open door in the hallway that accessed our room but couldn't find any key to the locked room. we knocked "politely" on the trailer door as a note said to do if one was locked out after hours. No one answered. we knocked louder. returning a couple times to do so. We called the same number that no longer picked up. We left around 3am to walk to find another hotel. Although many reviews warned "save your money" we figured we'd be fine with Qupqugiaq because we'd stayed at dirt cheap places in India, Belize, Nicaragua, Mexico, etc. We figured our standards were low enough. Now i'd say the same, "save your money" to anyone arriving anytime near 2am. We'd have preferred they told us our late arrival would have been a problem.

Pros: The hotel is very neat, eclectic place, located in midtown with easy access to most of anchorage. Many amenities are within walking distance. The staff was by far the kindest and friendliest that I have ever encountered (I am a traveling builder and have stayed at hundreds of hotels across North America). There is a nice common area, that is quiet and great for working, but also provides the opportunity to interact with with the hotels other guests, especially during breakfast. If you are looking to make memories, and maybe a friend too, look no further.
Cons: The stairs to the upper level rooms were outdoors, which didn't really bother me, but may not appeal to some. In my opinion it's a small issue for some, that will be easily forgotten with the Inn's world class customer service.

Pros: The poor man stayed up late to let me in after my flight came in late, after 1 am! So thankful for that.
Cons: However, there was suspicious activity going on in the parking lot. Lots of cars running, with and without people in them, people walking back and forth between them, and this was well after midnight. The room smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke that it was making me nauseous. After emptying most of my febreeze on the room, it was better. Laid down, and five minutes in start itching, thinking it might just be my paranoia, I tried to ignore it. But after ten minutes I get up to check myself and sure enough I find a bed bug in my shirt and I have 10 bites on my arm and leg. I used packing tape to pat the bed and found another one. I left that hotel at 2:45 in the morning to stay else where and spent the next day doing laundry at the hottest temps I could. I sent them an account of my night, and haven't heard back from them yet.

Cons: Was really disappointed with our stay. Had to pay for parking, was issued a parking pass but wasn't guaranteed a parking spot. the staff was rude and not helpful at all. The floors were dirty enough to turn my feet black. We stayed for two nights and didn't have room service. I went to front deck and the guy said the only clean the room if you stay for a week. So I could only get clean towles if I went and got them from the front desk. Had high hopes but was won't be staying here again.

Cons: While the staff was well-intentioned the hall's look like they had not been renovated in many years. The room was on the smaller side for a suite hotel. Some people would say that it's in a bad neighborhood because it is near a shelter for homeless youth. That doesn't bother me. I would not stay here for more than one or two nights.

Cons: The room was filthy! We asked for an extra pillow and they were "out" the whole time we were there. If you want extra towels, you have to bring your dirty towels to the front desk and IF they have any they might let you have one. The kitchenette is not stocked with anything, but you can ask for some stuff...good luck getting any. I would not recommend this place.

Pros: I would never recommend this place to anyone I care about. I rarely leave reviews, I am very easy to please, but this was one if the worst places I have ever had to deal with.
Cons: I was BLOWN AWAY by the horrible staff and their rudeness. First I was told I did not have a reservation (for which I had already paid in full), then I was told I would not get the two double beds I had reserved, instead they would give me a king. Considering I was with a co-worker, this is completely inappropriate. Finally, I was able to get a room with two beds, but they demanded my card. They said if I did not give them my card to run, they would not give me a key to the room. They ran my card and required my signature before they would hand over a key, thus I ended up paying for this room twice. When the charge had finally been processed, I called the hotel to try and straighten it out, and was hung up on multiple times. I had to report fraud to my bank (the transaction is still being investigated a week later). Lastly, when I was finally able to head up to my room, it had not yet been cleaned. The nasty front desk lady just happened to be in the adjacent room and told us to move there, she said she was "pretty sure it had been cleaned" and took our key from the other room back, never giving us a key to the room we actually ended up in. I had to wait for a shift change before the front desk would give us a key to our room. The room smelled terrible and the bathroom was filthy and wet. Awful experience in a wonderful city.

Cons: Very dirty. We found used q- tip on the bathroom floor, and the fridge had yellowish ice in it. The motle has a its own restaurant, and the lobby and walkway felt like the back of the restaurant kitchen. Okay for one night stay only. Will not book again.
