Horrible customer service, just unacceptable. Ended up using Uber from the airport to the hotel, and the next day when I called them, Budget’s response was “oh, the person in charge forgot to leave the key for you. But you can come pick your car up now.” And that was after I called them few days in advance, and then once again on the day of arrival, specially mentioning I am traveling with 2 little kids. “Well, we can void the contact if you don’t need the car anymore.” - that was their response to my statement about Budget’s bad customer service. So that’s what I did - I asked them to cancel. If this is how they run business, I don’t think I want to be part of it.

Picked up a Camry initially, but we knew within a few minutes we would have to return it. Strong tire vibration left us feeling unsafe for our upcoming road trip. Dealt with tired employees and a lot of back & forth before finally finding a good replacement. It took about 2 hours off our journey so we were off to a late start. Replacement car was just fine, but windshield wipers were so loud. Both cars could've been cleaned better. Drop off was okay but felt bad for stressed and overworked employee who handled it.

It was not clear to me that there was an offsite Budget, who I actually rented from, and a onsite at the airport Budget. The man in charge was very helpful to honor what I had and made clear that it would be $5 more per day. Which was fine.

Returning the rental was easyThe cleaning of the car was a joke. This is the third car from budget that I’ve had where the staff just ran it through the car wash while the inside looked messy. Also, the billing is wrong. The bill was more at the end than what was quoted.

Budget had a car in Birmingham. No reservation for me. The customer in front of me had issues picking up his car. They had to call around to find my reservationKyak said I had a reservation; somebody needed to tell Budget, they had no idea. When I returned the car to Louisville airport, they didn't have it in system, couldn't produce a receipt and said a receipt would be emailed to me. 2 days after drop off I do not have a receipt or proof I dropped the

Staff was friendly. Vehicle was in good condition.Finding the Budget Rent a Car pick up location (actually inside the public parking structure at Birmingham AL airport) was a hassle. Directions to the booth in the parking garage were poor. Additionally, the return address for vehicle drop off took me to the off-airport office.

Customer Service SketchyOnce I finally located the Budget rental car spot in the parking garage, the gentleman was very helpful, I got a very nice car, and the process was simple.When I arrived at the airport, the Budget rental car desk was unmanned, and there was no signage directing customers to another location. Had to use discovery learning to find the Budget kiosk in the parking garage. I returned the car at 6:20 am and the Budget kiosk wasnt open yet, even though the sign said it would be open at 5 am. When I signed for the rental car, I told them I would be returning it at 6 am. I was told no problem, someone would be there. There wasn't, and because I was expecting a Budget rep to be there, I didn't have a pen to fill out the rental folder with mileage, date or FULL tank. I had to drop the car keys and rental agreement into the box without filling anything out, and HOPE that they charge me correctly. That's not how I prefer to do business.
