Cons: When dropping off the car at the Budget lot there wasn’t an employee working. The doors were locked and it was only 8am. We were told to wait five minutes and after 30 we brought the car to the airport departures area and had to leave the keys with the Budget desk. Who also had employee working.
Cons: Hidden fees
Forced me to purchase insurance while at Budget counter (despite purchasing online) (doubled the cost of rental car)
Had to purchase unlimited km plan, otherwise had 100km daily limit (wasn't made clear when purchasing)
Pros: Good Customer service
Cons: Hidden charges. They make you believe that the price is cheap but in actuality after all the charges for unlimited miles , insurance and extra hidden charges; their price is way much higher if you compare to the same type of car here in the USA.
Cons: Very high deposit held on credit card
Pros: Staff were patient and helpful
Cons: Very large hold on credit card ($1000 - $5000)
Car pickup is off-site, but close
Extra charges if dropped off before 7 AM
Only 100 km per day
No hassle
Pros: Rental process was quick
Cons: The picture shown for my rental was a Hyundai and when I arrived I was given a Spark. Either way price was not bad $13/day.
Customer service
Pros: Great customer service!!!!!!! Total recommended!!! New car! It only had 150 km new!
GREAT SERVICE
Pros: Great service at the airport, people willing to help!!
HERTZ is by far the Worst & Most Pathetic Customer Service.
Pros: From the begging of the rental, it was a disaster. Two hours into the trip the AC went out in he car. I called their support number only to be made to wait 2 hours so they could send a guy without tools to put his hand infront of the vent and confirm that the AC did not work. Then to be told they dis not have another car to give me. When I finally arrived at Guayaquil (where they had another car for me 240 miles away) the people at the counter had left more than 10 minutes early and forced me to lose an extra day. But the best part was the way Ivan Quillupangi (fleet manager), tried blaming me for scratches on a car that were marked on the paperwork pre-rental and for three tire blow outs due to low air pressure (that was also marked on the paperwork). Not only that but questioning why I changed out the tires intead of calling, even after I advised that the tires blew in an area with no reception at 11:00pm on the side of a mountain. I liked the way that when I told them the brakes in the car were pulsating the response from them was that it was impossible because they had just changed them; however, they left the old brake rotors that were warped and caused the pulsating and lack of stopping power. I liked that once I got back to their Guayaquil office and showed them all this they said that although they can see what I am telling them, the guy on the phone 250 miles away that can't see says different that the proof of pictures, paperwork and items present. When I claimed the scratches were on the paperwork, they said that it was a "misprint" when I showed them the warpage on he brake rotors they pretended not to understand telling me the brakes had been changed. when speak My if the tires they said well you could have hit something and when I asked them to show me what exactly makes them say that or to show me on the tire or rim any impact point, they simply shrugged and said that that is what the guy from Quito (who'd never seen me or the car) said. Last but not least they expected me to provide good customer service by taking the car to and from the airport for inspections. Lastly when I got to the airport they did not have a comparable vehicle for me (7 passenger SUV) and merely had a compact, and expected me to provide a new deposit (after having given $2,400.00 on the current car). In short I was left at the airport stranded without a car. To add insult to injury Hertz ecuador has nothing to do with Hertz US. In all Inlost 4 days out of my trip dealing with their problems and spent an additional 3 days without a car, was forced to buy flights from Guayaquil to Quito and cancel parts of my trip.

Pros: hours of office operation
Cons: free miles limits
great car if not exceeding the mileage
Pros: Small, fast car, enough space for two, good consumption, very clean, quick pickup service before and after, professional service, friendly
Cons: High price for exceeding mileage, proof of damage (at the rim) on customer side
Renting a car from here ruined my trip. Avoid at
Pros: Honestly from the start, there was nothing that I liked about renting a car from Budget. This "Budget" is also independent from US Budget locations, so if you have a problem any US phone numbers or websites will not help you. I was allowed to talk on the phone with one Ecuadorian Budget representative who refused to let me talk to her manager.
Cons: I booked my car rental online for 20 days at about $600. When I arrived at the kiosk it was closed and I had to rent another car for the night and come back in the morning. When I came back they had to give me a new contract for 19 days now costing over $800 with an additional $2000 deposit. They allow you to drive 100 kilometers a day, which is nothing at all if you are planning on driving the car. This was another $350 charge in the end. The worst was when I was taking it back to the airport and a city owned dump truck ran into the car. The driver was issued a citation for his actions and it took 6 hours for Budget to show up with a new car and get to the airport. At this point I went to the office where they told me I have to pay for the accident. They told me lie after lie and when I called them out about lying they changed their story. at first they said the other driver was uninsured. When I informed them that wasn't true and it was a city owned vehicle they then said they would simply be out money because their car would be out of service. I then said that the insurance covers loss of income and asked to talk to her manager. She refused and said I can email him later. I told her that I was not going to pay a $1120 repair bill and she said "I'm sorry, you have no choice, you signed a contract and there's nothing you can do about it". Budget will be receiving compensation from the city for driving into their car and an extra $1120 from me because I rented from them. Overall my $586 car rental cost around $2400. This was an awful experience and please try to avoid renting from Budget, it ruined my vacation.
