Had to return original car due to mechanical warning light. Second vehicle was an upgrade. Great vehicle and experience overall.
They didnt give car, and said credit card is not working. Later they said they can try another cresit card if i pay 325 $ (my reservation vas for 155$)But i rent anorher car from sixth 5 min later just next to them with the same excat credit card.
Staff was rude and very unhelpful, worst of a kind. Lousy service, ZERO online review.
The entire experience was excellent, but so far I have not received a final receipt in my email.
After dropping the car off and being told that the car was okay after the inspection, Hertz over 24 hours later emailed me assessing me over $200 in damages. Is it because I returned the car full of gas and they couldn’t charge me over $200 for that? I don’t know, but it’s super shady in my opinion. Emailed them, and it’ll take 10 business days before I even get to hear back. What a joke!
All went well until drop off (after hours) where they were extremely anal retentive about a minuscule scuff to the wheel insisting that it was chargeable damage, not fair wear and tear. This is despite their definition of wheel damage being a ‘gouge’. All other cars that I have hired have had some tolerance for ‘curb rash’. They attempted to charge me £440 Swiss francs for this, which is totally unreasonable. I had to return in person and after a lot of negotiation I managed to reduce the charge to 110 Swiss francs. They admitted that 110 Swiss francs was in fact the cost to replace to replace the wheel not 440 Swiss francs so this was a major overcharge. So overall it was an unnecessary stressful experience.
