Nothing I expectedPros: I never write reviews, but regularly rent cars. I was expecting at least a few criteria to be rock bottom like their prices, but I was happily surprised to have experienced an inclusive work environment where employees care and build immediate repour through candid, friendly and genuine communication - outstanding.Cons: I apologise for pre-judging and presuming, but I’m only human right .. I’ve redeemed myself by writing this review.

Great way to see east coastPros: Pick up was quick, drop off was easier. The insurance through kayak is much more bang for buck, budget even told us this. Their rate was 50 a day and kayaks was 72 for the 9 days. Was a good piece of mind becasue with 1600 miles you never know what can happen

Pros: Last minute reservation with budget. Pick up and check in was quick and easy. Great service and car was economic for duration of the trip.Cons: When checking the vehicle for dents and scratches I preferred if a agent would do a walk around with the person renting the car but they didn’t.

HijackedPros: At reservation pricing was attractiveCons: Re-booking confirmation was not found by Buget/Avis in SYD. Avis rep then hijacked rental and I ended up paying TWICE the quoted rate online from Kayak. Avis//Budget rep also claimed there was no drop off station in the Flinders area (specifically Frankston, but there is). Complete RIPOFF from SYD Int'l Budget/Avis.

They forgot to install toddler car seatPros: Great car except for seat belt problem and fact that Hertz forgot to install car seat that we requested in writing and verballyCons: So we had to return to pick-up location for car seat. Then when we removed car seat to adjust straps for our four year old we could not get he seat belt to ratchet and lock properly to secure car seat, so we had to return to pick-up location a second time(!) for a service person to help with their tricks for getting this seatbelt to work! Basically it cost us two full hours before leaving on a busy holiday weekend.

renting on Australia's east coastPros: The pickup/dropoff went well, especially the help when we returned the car. Car was very comfortable, clean, drove well, and we had no problems.Cons: When we picked up the car, I asked for a map - especially of how to get to the motorway in Sydney. Was told they didn't have any maps. We used our cell gps, but when you go through tunnels service gets dropped (duh) making it a bit stressful about what turn might be next. I was surprised (frustrated) that even a city map was not available in paper form (come on, Hertz!). Next problem was discovered when we got home and I was paying my credit card bills. When my reservation was made, Hertz charged my credit card one day rental costs. But the system never reflected this when renting or returning the car, so I was charged the full amount when dropped off. This is NOT the fault of the return agent, but the Hertz system. I have since sent an email to Hertz and 2 days later still no reply. If this gets resolved, then my rating might go up - but if it takes more work on my part to get resolved, then rating may actually go down. Also, I thought the charge to drop off at a different city was a bit steep - especially since it seemed like more than twice the actual rental cost.

Pros: Very helpful staff at pickup carpark (less so at the desk) when dealing with the issued discussed opposite.Cons: It turns out that the new X-trail model is smaller inside than the previous models. The car was advertised as large enough for 5 adults. It really isn't (just about large enough for 2 adults and 3 children) and bizzarely, the car provided ad an extra 2 folding seats in the back which further reduced the luggage space. Also on arrival I was shown to a Renault which was even smaller but the Hertz staff at the pick-up point accepted that this was not equivalent to the X-trail and changed it.

Delayed pick up and charged twicePros: The lady working at the counter was very friendly.Cons: i upgraded my car but the new car allocated to me wasn't there. Took a long time for them to bring it around, but didn't update my record with the new pick up time. Dropped it the next day taking the delay into account. They charged me an extra day ($160. talked to manager without any luck. Send their customer support an email but the response said they get back to me in 2 weeks.

Pros: The class of vehicle i booked was not available, yet I was charged the full amount BEFORE being informed that the full size SUV was not available. When I wanted to compare other options and cost, I was told to wait (with a 1 year old baby, after a 14 he flight) and ignored for an hour. Staff was short, rude and not interested in providing information. When I offered to return the nexr day to collect the class of vehicle I booked, that was also declined. I eventually got a smaller car, that forced me to change my family holiday plans, required the use of a second vehicle for 5 days.Cons: I should've received the car I booked, or provided with alternatives. I use Thrifty aften (4 times a year, for about 3 months in total) but will reconsider my options in future

Pros: Nothing !!! They could not provide the car that I booked and paid for in advance. They stated that a Mercedez and a Toyota are the same categorie ( which they are NOT) So they cancelled my 2 reservations and I had to find a different alternative. Very in professional I travel to many countries and I will NEVER use them again. Now I have to get my money refunded let see how that goes.

The staff at return was incredibly quick and friendly.Cons: Instructions on which terminal is best for returning cars would have been helpful. We had to take the bus 4km because we dropped off the car at the domestic, instead of the international terminal.

Very friendly.Cons: I did not like the fact that Kayak did not send reservation confirmation to Thrifty, they still honored it but they had to hustle getting me a car at the pick up location. I also did not like the website info for Drop off. I had to find out on drop off date that Thrifty had a Domestic and International Drop off location with COMPLETELY different procedures.

Not getting what I booked forCons: After my extra effort to email and chat with your customer service and was assured that I would get the car I booked, I still received something not suitable and different to what I booked. My subsequent complaint fell on deaf ears as well.

At drop off they tried to charge me for previous damageCons: At the Sydney drop off they tried to charge me for previous damage. They wouldn't resolve it, so I cancelled the second rental in Cairns with them. I took video when I picked up and dropped off the car , and I told them I had the video. So far they haven't tried billing me for the damage. I recommend you us a more reputable company.

Pros: Convenient pickup location near arrivals Friendly and helpful staff Dropoff was quick and easy once we had descended into the depths of the underground car park (Pullman Hotel in central Sydney) Car was clean and mobile - although small even after our upgradeCons: Very slow pickup - took over half an hour to complete paperwork although there was no queue. For us, it was a big comparison with Launceston (Tasmania) Europcar where we had rented the week before and where pickup was almost instantaneous (to be fair, Launceston is a much smaller airport). Price increased more than expected over original booking - 30% (of total car price) extra charge was applied for picking up at Sydney airport.

Wrong carPros: Prompt serviceCons: We paid for an SUV, and when we got to pick-up there were none left. We were given a golden Astra saloon car, which is not what I wanted and not what I paid for. The service assistant told me that as we had already paid, there was nothing he can do - which is unreasonable. He then said we could bring the car back half full, as compensation - when we dropped the car off there was no record of this and we were told we would be charged for the lack of fuel. I am unsatisfied with the whole experience of your company.

We reserved a Ford Transit but what we got was a Kia Carnival which although was “similar” it did not provide the same amount of baggage space. 6 adults with 6 full size bags we were packed in like sardines. We need a refund because it was horriblePros: We arrived in Sydney Australia after a long trip, they sixt rental people wree nowhere to be found. All the workers at the airport had never heard of them. The other rental car companies tried to help us but no one knew where Sixt was we went from terminal to terminal with all of our luggage. We called all of the phone numbers listed on our papers but no one answered. When we finally reached a person he said that he could not help us because he was in a different location. He told us to go stand by the curb and maybe by chance a shuttle would show up. We asked him if he could call a shuttle and he said he was too busy. No one ever returned our calls from the messages we left. We emailed Sixt corporate and they didn't respond. After wasting 3 hours trying to connect with Sixt, we took the train to our hotel This experience ruined our time in Sydney. I would recommend that you get us a refund and stop booking for Sixt in Australia. They are definitely not located at the airport as they claim they are.Cons: We arrived in Sydney Australia after a long trip, they sixt rental people wree nowhere to be found. All the workers at the airport had never heard of them. The other rental car companies tried to help us but no one knew where Sixt was we went from terminal to terminal with all of our luggage. We called all of the phone numbers listed on our papers but no one answered. When we finally reached a person he said that he could not help us because he was in a different location. He told us to go stand by the curb and maybe by chance a shuttle would show up. We asked him if he could call a shuttle and he said he was too busy. No one ever returned our calls from the messages we left. We emailed Sixt corporate and they didn't respond. After wasting 3 hours trying to connect with Sixt, we took the train to our hotel This experience ruined our time in Sydney. I would recommend that you get us a refund and stop booking for Sixt in Australia. They are definitely not located at the airport as they claim they are.

Never came...Pros: NothingCons: Waited for two hours and the shuttle never came. Had to rent from a car company on sight at a premium. Would definitely suggest NOT renting from an off site rental car company.

Very poor servicePros: The paperwork etc was handled pretty efficientlyCons: 1. Pick up location was changed but address wasn't communicated to us. Reminder mail from kayak received a day before with the same old address. 2. We arrived to find the 151 William Street, Sydney location locked and one small notice stuck to it informing us that the office had relocated. 3. Tried calling their telephone numbers frantically but got no reply. 4. Went to the relocated office address and found no signs etc so could not locate the office again.. Getting very desperate by now and felt I had been scammed! 5. Luckily saw a Sixt employee on the street in a yellow jacket... Approached him and told our issues. His response was we were not the first to have such issues and definitely not the last... Office had relocated over the weekend in what appears to be with very little planning. 6. He graciously left what he was doing to take us to the relocated office. Overall a very pathetic experience booking via Kayak and priceline!

Solid rentalPros: The car and service were good. Due to the transition/move of sixt from one Mascot to Banksmedow, we had to use a taxi, although the staff did pay for it. This change was not on our paperwork, but as said, they paid the cab fare. Radio did not work, but van was plenty big for family of 6.

Cons: When we landed in Sydney, the shuttle was nowhere to be found. Asked all the other rental car stations, and no one was even aware of a Sixt rental car, so we thought we had been scammed. Very difficult getting hold of customer service, finally got hold of the US one who told us where to go. Walked down the end and still, no shuttle to be found. Called again but they didn't have a number for the AUS Sixt either ("emergency" line was just busy all the time) ONE HOUR later, we got hold of the driver of the shuttle to come get us, took 30 minutes in traffic. Not a good experience.

Expected better for the pricePros: The car itself was fun and decent but we were expecting something a little classier for $140/day. Benz or BMW was promised until the booking was finalized on kayak. Suddenly it was a Holden RS6 of better - only matters because it was our last day in Aus after a great trip and it was meant to be surprise to my gf for our final day driving to the blue mountainsCons: Car was gross inside like it had near never been cleaned (could be becuause it was old and had about 60,000 kms ok it. tried to call the store on 2 occasions.. one because I wantedt to swap the car because the value wasnt there and inform them of how gross so I didn't get charged. And again.. because our flight was delayed almost 8 hours and we wanted to get a new rental. Or at least a better deal to keep it... nope, another 140 for less than 8 hours

There is always a problem picking up from Red Spot counter in Sydney ACons: Wait at counter, confirmed car seemed different than booked car. When I asked to change I kept on getting contradictory information from counter agent, and quoted prices continued to change by the second, and it seemed to me I was being up-charged. Uncomfortable, difficult, unprofessional presentation. This is the second time, maybe third, this has occured at the Red Spot counter in Sydney.
