Staff was good but not very helpful, they gave me a quote over the phone and then try to change me over $300 dollars more of the original reservation o had made. We came to a "negotiable" price but still paid more than expected from the phone quote.Cons:
I honestly think they should stick to their prices it's no the first time this happens to me, not by Alamo but all the time is the same. Prices are rediculously higher when you are there to pick up than over the phone or even from the kayak app.2.0 Poor

The car I reserved was not honored for me at pick up, instead they gave me another car that was not ready to be released. Halfway through my trip the oil warning cane on, checked the engine oil level and it had almost nothing so I HAD to BUY oil for this car to keep the engine from blowing. Not happy at all.MEXRENTACAR

They were very kind and professional. It ended up being less than I thought. I paid around $288 for a Sunday AM to Friday PM rental which included full coverage. Not bad really. The car was clean and ran great as well. TIP: When driving in Mexico be prepared to always pay in pesos and remember that it is always full service (you can't pump your own gas).Cons:

Cons:
Picking up the car took an hour because it was so slow to verify that our credit card provides insurance on our rental. I had checked ahead with our CC and printed out the information they sent in anticipation of this, but they wanted to see a policy with our name on it. After two international calls we were able to get them what they wanted. This should have been more clear ahead of time. The real problem came when dropping off the car. We told them that it had leaked some oil on my grandmother's driveway, so they could fix it for the next person. On noticing the oil, we monitored the oil level and decided to call it in if it got low. It was never too low so we enjoyed our trip. However, they accused us of damaging the car and causing the leak ourselves. My mechanic husband got below the car and saw one dent with rust on it (old damage, not due to us) and a loose bolt on the oil pan (also not our fault) with dirty oil junk that had accumulated over a long time. Within one minute of arriving, they told us the charge would be over $200 from the damage. They decided to charge us before a mechanic had looked at the car. What a pain! They obviously prey on people that don't know any better and are rushing to catch their flights. We had driven very little and had in no way damaged the car in the 30 minute drive to our destination. They were ridiculous! Avoid this company at all costs!Thrifty

Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were shuttled to the rental agency and given a car. The car was clean and comfortable. Dropping the car off went smoothly and quickly with no delay getting us to our flight on time.Cons:
I was led to believe the price quoted online would include everything. Upon arrival we were informed of the mandatory insurance which was way more than the cost of the rental. It was definitely not what I expected to pay. They also put a very high hold on my credit card while we had the car. I would have liked to know about all of this before booking.Budget

I was not given an option to decline insurance coverage not needed or wanted. My reservation would not have been honored and they would have declined car rental. I had 8 pieces of luggage and 94 and 92 year olds with me. I had no choice but to accept very expensive insurance, not needed as my credit card covers it. Also, no car available on location for me and I had to wait a full hour for the car. I was lied to, being told it was being cleaned. I walked over to the cleaning bay to check and no caravan was there. I asked again and was told it was a few more minutes while they finished cleaning it. I confronted them and explained there was no car there and to give me an honest answer. They finally said it was coming from a different location. They still had to clean it when it arrived. I rented the car I was given a price online. I was to pay at pick up. Once I got to Mexico to pick up the car, Europcar try to charge my credit card $9,000 US Dollars for insurance protection. I declined it online because my credit card covers any theft or accidents. The gentleman at the rental place said that he needed me to send him my visas terms and conditions which I did. He then said he still needed to place a hold. Because of the large amount the bank placed a fraud alert, and shortly after he attempted to run my card for the $9,000 US dollars I saw that they had a sign in Spanish that read that if you purchase insurance with them then there would be a $5,000 Mexican pesos hold on the card. In the end because of the fraud alert and such they ended up placing the insurance I left a $700 US dollar deposit and upon return I was charged almost $200 US dollars for the vehicle which I only rented for 2 1/2 days. They overcharged me, my initial quote was for $70 US dollars. I am extremely dissatisfied. The only good news is that I called my credit card company and explained the situation and they will submit a claim so that I only pay my quoted amount. Locals told me that yes I was ripped off and that next time I should pay ahead of time rather than waiting to pay at pick up.2.0 Poor

When I arrived to pick up vehicle the Payless Rental Agency had no office inside the airport or shuttle that takes you to pick up the office. You have to walk three blocks towards there office!!!! With a family of three small children and four suitcases.....Once I arrived to the office there was a line of about 15 people in front of me, which was not a problem because it was a Friday and I could understand the rush. Once it was my turn after one hour and half of waiting they informed me that the vehicle I had requested was not available even though I had reserved it with more than a week of anticipation. That they could offer me a regular car but that it would cost me about double what the original reservation would be. They informed me that because I did not do the reservation directly with them that I had to call you're office to change anything ……..I tried many times calling you're office but with no luck...….This has been the worst experience me and my family have had …..We have never been treated like this …...We will never you you're service and will definitely recommend to any one we know or meet never to use this service ever.Cons:

Did not like the explanation of the cost. At sign-in, they left me totally confused about the pricing, with the insurance. Then entered about US$400 on my credit card, as “deposit”?. When I turned the car in, they said, pay the new “bill” and your $400 is cancelled. At least that is what I think they said - I will see when I get my credit card bill later this month. If, indeed that $400 is cancelled - then National was truly excellent - the price was very reasonable (ie, very competitive). If not, kind of a rip off.2.0 Poor
