The process was relatively smooth, although we needed details about how and where to return the vehicle at the Rome airport and the representative had none. However, once we got there and found Hertz, it was quick and easy. The car was immaculate and drove great. (Fiat 500X)Reviewed 2022 Sep 18

The issue I ran into was that I didn’t take comprehensive photos of every inch of the car, so when I got to Venice they charged me 180 EUR for the drivers side keyhole which they said had been tampered with. It was complete BS. The woman at the Venice airport counts on the fact that you’re in a hurry and even says “oh I don’t know if they’ll charge you” and then shows you the auto printed receipt to say they didn’t charge, but then you get an email a few hours later for damages you didn’t sign off on.
