I had heard bad things about Hertz and I've rented from other companies regularly. My experience with them was actually very good. It was an easy process and the service was good. No hidden fees, no issues. Well done.Reviewed 2023 May 04

The whole experience at Hertz was like a scam that I would have never expected from Hertz. Upon arrival we were told that there are 2 options: Option A. We pay more that 4x fold for the agreed price and have some insurance on the rented car. Option B. We have 100% risk for the vehicle, and there is no insurance or excess. (there was option C as well, paying appx. 2.5x agreed price with glass and tires insured, and "premium assistance service", BUT - still 100% risk for the car). There was no option to cancel... We ended up taking option A, which is essentially - "the client buys the car at full retail price (13k EUR) at rental and the company agrees to buy it back once the "rental" is over and in case there is no damage." Total cheating, done to a loyal Hertz client for 10+ years. I am not returning to Hertz again and suggest the others not to do that either. As for Kayak - please check what is being offered to the clients...Reviewed 2022 Nov 19

Be very careful on car rental pick up and return! We were charged 200 euros for the damage we didn't do! On car return in Barcelona airoport the Hertz employee just took the car keys as he was very busy, didn't check the car with us, we didn't sign ANY papers, and then 2 hours later we're charged 200 euros for the scratch that was already there! But initial car rental report shows the scratch in another place. We even have the pictures and video that we made on car rental day to prove that, but Hertz doesn't care.Reviewed 2022 Oct 03

Bonjour En prenant la voiture que j ai loué pour quelques heures 9h-18::30(30km),j ai fait le tour de la voiture,aucune anomalie. En retournant la voiture, des petites taches de p peinture blanche (couleur de la voiture) de 1-2cm2 sur le bas côté du coffre,côté conducteur,dont m en incriminé la responsabilité.Reviewed 2022 Sep 19

Really pushy at the pick-up desk. Said that the insurance I purchased from Priceline wasn't valid and tried to sell me more insurance - really pushed hard for me to buy more. Then tried to sell me an upgrade that was 3x my daily rate, which was more funny than anything else. Rental car places are known for being a bit pushy and dishonest, but this was next level. I wouldn't rent from them again, and have been watching my credit card like a hawk for other "extra" charges.Reviewed 2021 Dec 06

Last time that i use KAYAK.The app give me wrong direction to drop off the car.Because of that i need to pay extra 76 euro.Poor communication between kayak and hertz.For sure will not recommend anyone to use KAYAKReviewed 2021 Aug 20

Pros:Super easy pick up at the airport counter then a small walk to the garage at the airport to get in the car and go. No pressure on buying extra insurance or upgrading.Cons:Over all one of the best rental encounters I have had in over 40 years.Reviewed 2020 Feb 10

Pros:The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke enough English to help us through the process. Rental instructions were clear.Cons:We weren't sure where to drop the car off in the parking structure. We randomly parked it and told the staff where we put it. They were fine with that, but we should have parked it on -2 rather than -1...next time we'll know.Reviewed 2020 Feb 04

Cons:Kayak computed incorrect tax on our invoice. We had to pay another €20 at return. Other than that one thing, everything was perfect. Oh, and one other thing, the directions to return the car need to be a lot more of a step by step type of thing. It simply says return at airport. Uh, yeah. Go to airport. Ok. Then what? Where? This needs to say exactly where one is going. Easy. Small. Needs added. Again, great experience.Reviewed 2018 Jul 02

Cons:Misleading fuel option from the pickup agent. I ended up returning the car with a full tank of gas just to learn I somehow agreed to pay for an entire additional full tank of gas. I expect more from hertz.Reviewed 2017 Oct 06
