Although the car was a big one, and of a well known brand (BMW), we found it difficult to get in to and out of, compared to our own small Japanese cars (Mazda, Toyota or Honda). Trying to squeeze 5 passengers (including the driver) was also uncomfortable. Besides, the built-in GPS system was complicated to operate. The BMW roadside service was helpful in that regard, however.

Friendly staff. A few speak limited English. Beware that if you have a scrape on car, they automatically charge you $1500e and you have to get reimbursed by your cc insurer. Only way around this is to buy their insurance.

Arrived to pick up the car but they didn’t have a car available. Had to wait over an hour for them to “upgrade” us to a car we didn’t want but didn’t have a choice as nothing else was available. The car smelled like smoke but again we needed a car so we took it. Because Of the delay in getting a car we missed one of the activities we had already booked for our honeymoon.

Horrible! The car had an indicator on the dashboard as soon as I turned on the car at the Marseille, France airport that said ‘Adblue’. I assumed the car was good and left, car broke down and was stranded for two days with no help from budget. Not only only did it ruin my entire vacation and timeline of a trip that I planned for a year, they in no way compensated me for the hours of cell phone calls, stress, or exhaustion I was put through during this. Additionally, kayak provided me zero help as well! Also the said they would provide me another rental car and never did, which I then ended up just laying for another one. I will never use them or kayak again!

When we picked up the car I tried to tell the agent of minor damage not on the contract, as was instructed on the contract. She said just take a picture. We returned the car a day early the difference was minimal in price it seemed. Car performed well and was comfortable for our needs.

My credit card, covers insurance .... I also purchased insurance through Kayak for $11 a day which was $22 for 1day rental .... on top of this Eurocar employee kept insisting I buy insurance at $30 per day from them.

We booked at a certain rate and then they told us that the insurance wasn’t included because we booked through the US/Canadian site - the person working behind the counter at the Marseille airport was not very helpful or nice at all. We had a much better experience on the same trip renting with Alamo.

I ordered an EV Kona on thw Almo site. I own a Kina EV, sonI know the range of the car is significant. I get to the Alamo site and he wants to give me a cheap EV that gets half the range of a Kona. I was not going to risk driving a car in France like that. The agent said ""We don't even have Kona EVs to rent!" The Almo site misrepresented what I selected. I chose to take a regular gas car and the agent gave me a much more expensive car. $25 a day more. He said he had nothing else less expensive. He saw a tired,single woman traveler coming and he up-sold me. The car was a Citroen hybrid, very big to drive and park in French small towns. I got it back without a scratch, but it was not what I reserved and no concession was made for price.

The car was brand new so obviously very clean. It was missing 3 hubcaps which I didn't realize until I reached my first destination. I should've checked before I left but i assumed since it was new it would've been intact.

Total scam - they insisted we pay a 250 euro fee to return the car empty of fuel. A full tank of gas is only 60 euros. Basically stole 180 euros; never not had the option to return a tank full and I don’t understand how they can get away with overcharging for gas by a factor of four. Also, had to wait in line for two hours!!!! To pick up the car, with only 5 groups in front of us. Literally 25 minutes per customer. Total scam! Do NOT rent from Alamo.

Waited 3 hours to be told they downgraded our car and had no other options for 11 days. So we squeezed into a compact car instead of the compact SUV we ordered. And the engine stalled regularly and spontaneously turned off on the regular. Every person ahead of us also had downgraded cars or no car at all after having reservations ahead of time. Worst welcome ever after being on planes and traveling for hours on end. Oh and I couldn’t feed my toddler or ourselves bc we didn’t leave there until 11 pm after the wait and all local restaurants, even gas station restaurants, we’re closed.

They didn’t have the car I reserved and stuck me with a bigger one that I couldn’t park where I needed to. Then it got a flat tire And they told me they had another car for me but when I was brought all the way back to the airport, they didn’t and wasted a ton of my time before I walked next door to sixt, who had a car and treated me much better.
