The check in process was SLOW. There was a long line, which was created mainly by a long check in pro chess which made the long line move very slowly. Check in took over 30 minutes, other rental car companies had practically no lines during my wait. Wish I went somewhere else.

Cons:

Mechanical condition of vehicles was big problem. Went through 3 cars in a week. One (the 1st) had brake trouble, another (the 2nd) actually broke down on the freeway 20 min. after pick-up. Also, all offices closing at 6 PM is a big problem if you need to replace a broken car after that hour.

It was hard to find the drop off site by GPS so we had to rely on signs alone. Upon exiting, the road split and it didn't tell us which one to take so we had to ask for directions. Other than that, it was fine.

I asked for a Toyota Camry or equivalent. They had one, but the agent asked if I wanted to be bumped up to a BMW 3. Between him wearing a mask, having a glass wall between us, him speaking rather quietly and me being 75, I thought he said "free upgrade". Turns out it cost me $150 for three days. Nice car but I didn't need the upgrade and would have declined had he communicated more clearly. Other than that, not a bad experience.

The cars weren’t spotless, but that wasn’t a problem for me. We did get have to exchange cars due to a tire issue. We called ahead and discussed it with E-Z Rent-a-Car. They said they made a note on our profile and there would be no problem coming back and exchanging the car. When we got there, they didn’t seem to know what we were talking about and we spend a little longer than necessary due to some confusion about the exchange. Worked out in the end.

I found my rental reservation cxld. Not sure how that happened. Agent was helpful in getting me a car well van. She wasn’t friendly, just all business and seemed in a hurry to move me on. I explained about dropping the van off in Evertt WA. No instructions given. I get to Everytt following the Google maps and arrive at airport. Airport attendant out front told me put the van in the parking lot and drop the keys in the dropbox inside the brown building. as I was going in the building, another airport employee said to do the same thing so I did. then another employee came along and I asked where the car rental was and he said off of the airport and there’s the phone number. the number that I had so I called and spoke with a budget representative and explain the situation and was told to leave the parking slip in the window of the van. it would’ve been nice to have had some instructions regarding drop off. I wish I had asked the agent at SeaTac but because of her unfriendly attitude I figured I better just go on my way. Other than that the van was great.

It was good overall from the moment I picked up the car and the moment I returned it. The only thing that really didn’t work well for me was the amount of fees added to my rental which almost doubled the amount. So much taxes and fees which making me change my mind on renting from the airport and probably pick it up elsewhere.

TERRIBLE! After landing waited 2 1/2 hours in line to be waited on. Tried to give me a car when rented SUV, finally got it-was dirty inside. Talked in to getting prepaid tolls, never was on a toll road. Told agent where was going and he said should do the toll thing-huge mistake. By time everything was done I was in the rental car place over 3 hours!! Will never rent from budget again!!!!

Attendants at the counter and at return were personable and helpful. Check in and access to the car was easy and without frustration. The car was clean and more than sufficient for our needs. Directions for how to get to the rental center from the airport were not clear, however. It was an otherwise excellent experience.

The main pickup counter was closed and there was no signage to provide dirctions for pickup. I waited in the thrify/hertz line for 15 minutes only to be told that i needed to go outside the building to an unmarked flight of steps leading to the garage pickup area. While walking there i saw another person looking confused and i asked if they were looking for the hertz counter. They said yes and i told them what the helpful thrify agent said. They were grateful for my help since it wasnt forthcoming from anyone else. The value of the car was ok, not great.

The initial agreement said I could drop off at a downtown location at 8 pm but I later found out that location closes at 6 pm and does not have after hrs drop off. Why would Hertz have a drop off location and time available for a place that won't accept it?! I had to change the return the car to a different location that will charge me $25 more to drop off there. I will certainly be calling Hertz to that money back.

I called Payless to make sure I could pick up a car with my later flight (expected arrival time 10 pm), even though their office hours say they close at 10. The agent I spoke to said "that location allows for pick-up and drop-off 24/7. When I arrived 30 minutes late because of a delayed flight, the Payless counter was closed with a handwritten note to go to the Avis counter to pick up my car. After a 2 hour wait in the Avis rental line, I was required to rent a new car from Avis and was told they (the Avis counter) do not have access to the Payless inventory. Garbage experience!

Everything, I never got the car I rented, I had to rent from Avis. Payless didn’t have any personal working. Could not pick up the vehicle, had to scramble to get to a meeting and rent another vehicle. When I tried to call Payless and remedy the problem, the wait time was over an hour to talk, I have yet to talk to a person to remedy the problem.

Cons:

I had no windshield washer fluid in the car, window had tire shine on it so no matter how much I cleaned it during my travel from Seattle to Spokane I literally couldn’t see and the pass was horrible with snow so that didn’t make my trip any easier I don’t usually comment or leave a negative review ever! Like ever but thought I should say something about it. Sorry if I offended anyone but I use cars pretty often

Pros:

One way drop off was easy and Walla Walla staff was great.

Cons:

Long line. Condescending, snippy desk agent couldn’t be bothered. We reserved a car we knew we’d fit and she insisted we wouldn’t and aggressively unsold a different category. Turns out it was the same size with an even smaller trunk. For more $$ of course.

I was charged extra $122 in taxes and fees even though my rental agreement with Eurocar said "due at the counter 0" Dropped off car 20 days ago and still didn't get my deposit as well as 1 day refund as I returned the car earlier

Good selection of cars. Easy pickup.

Cons:

Several vehicles I chose - but didn't drive away - wreaked of cigarettes! Are you guys charging/fining people afterwards when they blantantly disregard the agreement terms that say NO SMOKING - because National is clearly NOT doing anything to actually clean the horrible smell from the vehicles. This is a big problem I always have with National and in general the rental industry effectively encourages people to smoke in their vehicles as the do nothing to enforce - or recitify the problem after the fact.

Only one employee to take care of a extremely long line of tired customers to pick up rental. Rented a premium elite SUV. Told a first counter we were getting a BMW. Went upstairs to pick up said it wasn’t ready yet. Employee said it would be 15 minutes, then later they brought a dirty VW Atalas said it would be a while if we didn’t take it. Had a used water bottle left in it. The reservation had Been made months ahead. The drop off employee was nice and drop off went better, but we will never rent from National or any business associated with them again. I feel like the pick up part of the business is very poorly ran. Having pretty young girls there in heels trying to get you to take the SUV that is not in the class you paid for doesn’t make it worth it. You are still getting cheated and it is poor business tactics. NEVER RENT FROM NATIONAL AGAIN😫

Don’t call me 3 hours before pick up to tell me you can’t honor the rental. Also hold Economy accountable for having a valid contact phone number. Phone number on confirm is for Zeeba and the other is for an agency in Florida. I live in Kent WA.

The pickup address was incorrect. The van had a transmission issue and it was a very loud ride in this vehicle. I had no drop off instructions.
