Cancelled our reservation without contacting us. Hired a taxi to take us to the rental spot only to find out it had been canceled without notifying beforehand. They only had a compact to give us when we booked a larger car. Sent us to another location at the airport which they said had our size car available, required hiring another taxi. Arrived at that location and was told they have no cars. Hired another taxi to go back to the original location and had no choice but to take the small compact or nothing. Crammed 4 people and bags into that car. Spent $100 on hired taxis. Ruined 3 days of travel plans. No discount for trouble. Only a discount because of the difference in size category. Not happy. When I picked up the car, the lady at the desk told us that there was no SUV available (category that I booked) and that she was giving us a BMW break, claiming that it was the same category (which is NOT; I booked an SUV not a “large car”). After insisting and showing her that we werent going to settle for a break, she miraculously found an Audi SUV available. How convenient.Reviewed 2022 May 27

We had to catch a flight from Florence at 6:30 am but the drop off office didn’t open until 8 am. We dropped the car at the short term lot at the airport. Their local number didn’t work so I finally got in touch with customer service in Europe and they couldn’t contCt the airport rental office either. The Sixt office was closed and told by Hilton next door office had been closed for over a year. Then call Sixt and was told office should be open but clearly it was not. Lady on phone said she would call back in 30 minutes. Never received a call. Since we had to be at a wedding an hour outside of Brusels we had to take a taxi there and back for a cost of ovet $300. When I arrived at the Sixt location the office was closed. I went into the Hilton hotel and was told that office had been closed for over a year. I then called the sixt company and spoke to a woman who said the office should be open but clearly it was not. She said she would call me back in about 30 minutes. I never got a call back. Since I had to be at a wedding an hour out of Brussels I had to take a taxi there and back for a cost of over $300.
