Certain areas in Dundee, such as The Glens and Douglas, are strict 20mph zones, so watch out for signs when you’re driving in the centre to avoid an unwelcome fine. You’ll more than likely head down Kingsway at some point during your visit, which has a 40mph limit and speed cameras to watch out for. The national limit on motorways and dual carriageways is 70mph, although you’ll have to keep an eye out for average speed checks, which are common throughout Scotland.

The centre of Dundee is home to plenty of multi-storey car parks, including Discovery Quay Car Park next to the V&A museum and Nethergate opposite the train station. There are around 530 on-street parking spots and charging hours are from 8:00–20:00, Monday to Sunday, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a spot no matter when you’re visiting. The cost varies between locations, but you can expect to pay around £3 per hour in the city centre.
