Pros: The staff in Missouri was very helpful, apologetic and willing to work with me to get into another car. Review for him is great! Overall, it being booked only an hour before, I was happy to get into anything so my review is only to highlight some things. I'd use your company again for the speediness and rate alone.Cons: The cleanliness. And the maintenance. CLEANLINESS: The car was pretty dirty inside. It still smelled heavily of cigarettes, had about 5-6 cigarette burn holes in various seats, ceiling and roof, and there was just general dirt and dust in there. Lots of stains. Probably the filthiest interior of a rental I've ever been in. Again, the staff was extremely apologetic and seems like he was ready for me to ask for him to fix it, but I was happy to have something in a short notice. I told him don't worry about it, just please mark it on the pre-drive damage sheet (which showed the exterior damage, many decent size dents) so I wouldn't be charged. He obliged. MAINTENANCE: The maintenance lights showed it was way overdue for service. Warning comes on as soon as you start the car that reads, "Service Required (-4678mi, -9days)". The car only has 44,668 miles so I was surprised at how beat up it felt mechanically. Overall, the car ran fine, got good gas mileage and was reasonably comfortable for my needs and timeframe. Other customers likely would've had an argument to make.

Toyota SequoiaPros: I liked that it was able to fit everybody comfortably & there was enough room for our luggage.Cons: The seat was so uncomfortable that my back, legs, and neck are so stiff. There should've been an opportunity to check the vehicle out first to make sure that it would be a fit for the drive.

Cons: I rented a one way for 24 hours in Denver to Missouri. I turned it in at the 24 hour mark but because the time zone change it looked like i had it an extra hour, which they charged me $280 extra. They couldn’t fix my bill, made me call the Denver desk which no one answered and then made me call five other numbers and no one could help me. Even the worker at the desk was frustrated.

Pros: Counter person was very nice and upgraded us for half the daily price, into a brand new car. Would have enjoyed our trip very much if new cars were designed to be more driver friendly. Customer Service at the secondary insurance company offered, was terrific when I wasn't able to find the information I needed.Cons: The rental car place at the airport needs to have someplace for drop off and pick up drivers to park while doing business with them instead of having to park in the pay lots. And, it would be nice if when you rent a car online, you actually get the car that you picked out. First we were supposed to get a RAV4, then a Ford Escape, when we got to the rental agency we were told a KIA Sorento. Chose to upgrade to a Jeep Cherokee.

Not HappyPros: The return agent was friendly. Return process easy.Cons: Reserved a RAV4 was given a Kia. I guess to some they are comparable - they are not. Pick up agent was annoyed when I stated that I did not want/ do not like Kia’s. Paid weekly rad, was charged an extra day even though I had car less than 6 24 hour days. Could have done without dead beetles flew out of defroster. Tried calling about warning lights on dashboard - was on musak hold for so long each time, never happened asked to a live person. Could go out n but thinking about it is making me angry all over again.

Pros: We did get an upgraded vehicle because there was no vehicle that we requested availableCons: The vehicle outside had been keyed heavily. No one from the staff came out to inspect the vehicle with us. This was a Dodge Caravan and literally, the passenger side sliding door came off the track and was not able to close completely. The wind noise from the door not closing was ridiculous.

Pros: Online booking through Kayak was easy and affordable. Check out and check in were simple and efficient.Cons: The vehicle had that specific aroma of one that had been smoked in. The company had probably paid a big fee to have cleaning done but the residual odor is still there, especially picked up by non-smokers. Sorry Avis, send it though the treatment another time.

Cons: My husband booked this rental with our company credit card and when I picked it up they refused to let me keep it on the card provided because my name wasn’t on the card. Even though our last names are the same. I ended up having to pay for it with our personal card. Very frustrating.

Pros: Terrible. The whole experience was a scam. Couldn't pickup vehicle at the airport which it didn't tell me till I get to the counter & then I'm told I have to get a cab or uber to take me to the location. ...but can be really frustrating!,Pros: The pros: friendly, smart service, nice car (Accent), good value. Daring, brave agents who did not flee angry bear of a customer.Cons: The cons: On drop-off of 1st rental car, the lot was full of snowdrifts, which made getting my stuff out of the car and over to the terminal a real mess. Worse: having to clear off/dig out the next car from the same lot, still with no ice-scraper. I had to stomp down the snow to get to the trunk, and clear snow off car with mittened hands. Lot snow-removal apparently is not the rental agency's responsibility, but somehow knowing that doesn't help much. However, it was I who chose to take a different car (Accent) instead of keeping the Elantra.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCEPros: NOTHING!Cons: Booked online during travel. Got confirmation. Then called to confirm location was at airport. Reached destination airport to be told wrong location... AND NO CAR at any location because they called me and because I didn’t answer res was cancelled. I’m flying... that’s why I needed a rental car?!?!?!!! Agents at desk just did not care at all. Altima conditionPros: Upon returning car, I expressed to clerk, Taylor, that front bumper was scratched when I initially picked up car. Taylor stated that wouldn’t be an issue since I initially picked up car in that condition.Cons: Receive phone call regarding scratched front bumper and I had to take the time to write an email and re-explain condition of car at time of pickup, along with pictures. Poor communication between the two Hertz car company. Customer service should have handled this situation. Hoping to soon be informed of the confirmation of my email.

Pros: The car was clean and in good working condition.Cons: They did not have a vehicle available in the class I reserved, so I paid for an intermediate car and only got an economy/compact car. They comped my gas, but I didn't even get any notice so I could choose a different company that had the car I wanted. When I made the reservation, it said something about "checking availability" when I picked the class of car I wanted, so one would assume that meant the company only rents what it knows it will have at the scheduled pickup time.

Cons: When I booked this rental, it was for the Springfield airport pickup and drop off but when I got there, it wasn't and I had to go to town to get it and then pay an additional $5 to drop off at the airport when I left. Talk about a waste of my vacation time!!!

Pros: The car was great - very comfortable. The desk agent was knowledgeable and prompt.Cons: We had rented a car the prior week and had to switch cars for the second week rental so that the second vehicle could be transported to Michigan to be sold. It would have been ideal - and less hassle of moving luggage - to keep the original car (which also had Michigan plates), but both vehicles were comfortable and met our needs.

Long wait. Car reserved not available.Pros: Eventually got a supervisor to helpCons: Waited 30 minutes only to be told I no full size cars available (which is what I reserved) and that they would put me in an intermediate and that I would still pay the full size rate. Agent said sorry that he couldn't do anything about it. I called Payless on the phone while he wasn't able to help me. He said that's all he could do and the I said well I don't have to take the car, I can cancel. Then a supervisor from the Avis counter showed up and helped him. He said he was new so Payless this is a 'training opportunity' for you!

The price was pretty good, but you get what you paPros: The car had fuel when I picked it up.Cons: The delay at the counter was excessive. I arrived to pick up the car a little early. I was willing to pay any difference, and add the time to my rental if they needed that 30 minutes. I was told that it was a manager rule that they could not let me have the car any earlier than my reservation time. I was surprised the manager didn't want to make more on the rental, but I figured "OK, not a problem". I told the agent that i would be sitting 10 feet away waiting. At 10 minutes past the appointed time, I again approached the desk. The agent said "Oh, I've been calling for you for the last 15 minutes". I doubt the validity of that statement, but whatever, I got the car. I then found that the car was programmed so that the music volume would only go 1/2 up, and the car speed was limited to 80 mph. I found the last tidbit out while passing a truck, on a busy two lane highway. Overall, the hassle just wasn't worth the savings.
