My plane was late and I am not from where I needed the car. I was told the system was down for maintenance (at 11 pm?) and they would not be able to give me a car - they did not expect the system to come back up for 3 hours. In other words, I had to find my own way to my hotel and back again the next day to pick up the car once the system was up. No company runs maintenance at that hour! The guy behind the desk was, in my opinion, a bit too glib about the situation and offered no help. I was quite disturbed by his attitude! It was not easy to find a cab at that hour.10.0 Wonderful

I reserved a car and when I got there they informed me that they were all out of cars. I started getting upset cause it took me an hour to get there and the guy asked if I would be ok with a mini van. I said ok and figured I was gonna end up paying 3 times more. They apologized for the inconvience and discounted the entire thing so I paid the same price for the car. They had really great customer service.Cons:

I booked for a 3:00 pickup. Kayak didn't tell me they closed at 3:00. I was running a little late and called. I was told system shuts down at 3:05. I arrived at 3:06 and rep unlocked doors and assigned my rental. Was very friendly while she did it. Pretty sure I got upgraded in the process because I ended up with a larger vehicle than expected.Cons:
I booked for a 1:00 rental pickup on another site at another agency. . Only to find out rental agency closed at 1:00. Missed that rental. Booked this rental for 3:00 Via Kayak and Kayak didn't tell me rental store closed at 3:00. I arrived at 3:06 and only by great cust svc from Enterprise was I able to pick up car. If I missed this one, it would have cost $100+ more to get from airport. both rentals ended up booking through the site with Captain Kirk and Penny, so my real beef is with them, I guess, but on the second one, I went through Kayak to get rental.Thrifty

When we arrived, on time, at 7:00 pm there was no one in the Thrifty booth. A sign referred us to the Avis booth. The Avis clerk told us that Thrifty had given our car to someone else. It would take a while to get another one. One and 45 minutes later we cancelled the reservation by phone and rented from Budget. They had us on the road within 20 minutes. The service person at Budget was personable and very helpful. We got the Budget rental for $200.00 less than the Thrifty rental. Perhaps they need to change their name. They definitely need to learn what the word "service" means. I'll NEVER go to Thrifty again.10.0 Wonderful

When I picked up the car, it didn't have a full tank of gas. The needle was clearly below the full mark. I was headed to Costco in preparation for my drive on the next day and the tank took over five dollars of gas. Gas that day was $1.70/gallon. That is not a full tank in anyone's book. Sat there for over an hour and he did not have a car available so that the detail guys did not show up and he was running way behind along with about 15 other reservations. Very poor service.
