Pros: Kevin at the front desk was very friendly and nice. The woman (didn’t get her name) was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and nice rooms. It was a great location for the things our family had planned.

Pros: I liked the wide hallways and tall ceilings in the rooms! The fact that the hotel used to be the Board of Education building appealed to me greatly. The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful. I will definitely recommend this hotel!

Pros: Overall clean, good breakfast. Wifi worked well. Room was modern, but the bed was soft. Had complimentary fridge and microwave which was nice. Would have loved this hotel if traveling for work, but not really the best set-up for a family with a baby.
Cons: Drunk person wandering around front of hotel when we went to check-in at 8pm on a Friday. Had to carry our infant through group of smokers that congregate at the front door (gross.) Nobody manning the front desk, had to find someone to check us in. Only offer valet parking option. The free "crib" provided was just a pack and play, not really good for sleeping baby (or easy to clean!) and overall the hotel was on the noisier side. Also no bathtub in the room for bathing kids.

Pros: Rooms were clean and well designed. Slept well because beds were comfortable, drapery kept light out, and room well insulated from noise. This is a large hotel and yet whenever we contacted the staff via text, room phone, or in person they responded to every one of our requests quickly. The hotel is within walking distance or short taxi ride of tourist attractions and restaurants etc. Also the view is nice.

Pros: The Glidden House is like stepping back in time. The staff and decor are of an earlier genteel era without being stuffy. No hotel chain feel here. Room service is catered from the next door restaurant - and the executive chef is a recent James Beard award winner - can't beat that! Complimentary breakfast on the sun terrace is a great start to any day.

Cons: After checking in at 5pm we where greated with a memo in our room informing us of a recent water shut off. We had BROWN water up until we checked out. We where also in a room that had what sounded like construction and music playing above us the entire night. I couldn’t sleep a wink with the loud noise. Disssapointed that I paid more for a city view room and felt with these issues.

At check in they no longer had a room for us, and sent us to another hotel nearby where we were given a king bed for multiple people. Cons: Just very expensive for less than 24 hours in the hotel and it cost me over $300 for the room and the valet parking was $25 per day which totaled $50, to park my car for 27 hours. Arrived at 11:30 am left the next day at 2:30 pm.

Cons: We spoke to 3 different people on the phone and they were all rude and unhelpful to the point that we cancelled our stay and stayed at the doubletree where EVERYONE we spoke with was helpful and the request for double beds specifically which was the simple request we had was met with a no problem and see you soon. The 3 Marriott women were very rude and said it wasn't their job. Stay at the Doubletree they are friendly and give you delicious cookies!!!

Cons: The valet service people seemed really confused about what was going on when I pulled up. At one point during my stay I ordered some room service items and they just never came. The bed I slept in had no sheets on the mattress, which was super weird. I also discovered blood on the mattress. Pretty weird!

Second stay....room was dated, carpet appeared to have water damage, bed was old with ruts and was extremely stiff. Called to ask possibly change rooms and were shot down. I understand hotels fill up fast, especially during big events in downtown Cleveland. However, don't ask me my room preference through email four months in advance and again at the front desk when your going to ignore or know you have no intentions of accommodating a single preference. Just be honest and up front about availability.

Pros: I loved the uniqueness of this Hyatt. The architecture of the arcade as the lobby to the small details in the room were gorgeous. It was close to everything downtown and only a 10 minute walk to the Q which is where the concert was at that I was in town for.
Cons: Because it is an older building, it did have a bit of a musty smell and the air circulation in the room was not that great. Also they serve breakfast in the arcade and it is noisy and woke us up in the morning.

Cons: This was our second attempt at The Arcade and both times we have requested a bath tub and paid an uncharge for a room with a view. Both times the view that we upgraded to was a concrete wall 6 feet from the window. They moved us to a room with an actual view this time at least, but the room was just cleanish and had no bath. We actually think that this may be the room where employees take breaks as the table had pretty clearly had drinks on it not long before we arrived and the TV was on. If they charged $100 or even $150 for rooms here, it would be fine. In fact, it would be good. For $360 a night though, we were really expecting something more than a few steps above a Holiday Inn.

Late in the evening to be offering, but at least they were checking still.

Cons: Staff was a bit harried, not helpful when it came to directions. The 90 East is closed right now, making it a challenge to get in and out of there with GPS. Difficult but not impossible. Staff did not seem to know about this and were not a good source of information for alternative directions.

But it was just a 10 minute walk downtown where there were a lot of bar and food options. We were there on a Sunday night so not much was open but we still had a good time! Cons: First...Parking. Granted, I'm used to downtown areas, but I had no idea that the only parking options here were private surface lots and garages, or paying for hotel valet parking. I guess I'm just used to a hotel parking garage or lot of some sort with permitted or validated parking. On the plus side, the valet rate I was charged was a flat $24 for the entire stay. Not terrible. I didn't go in and out, just walked where I needed to go for the most part. Second...The staff. For the most part they were friendly, but I arrived in the very early AM and the night attendant almost seemed like they would rather not deal with checking me in (sorry--our system is in the middle of an update...You're going to have to wait 15 minutes before I can check you in). Third...Overall condition of the property. Not bad, but definitely shows signs of wear and tear and could use a good refresh. Fourth...The room. It was a nice enough room, but was equipped as an accessible room with an adjoining room, neither of which I had asked for. The bench in the shower could not be completely moved out of the way, leaving the only options to either fold it down and use it or deal with it leaning out from the wall slightly. A clip to keep it folded against the wall would have been helpful. Finally...Noise. It should have tipped me off when one of the amenities in the bathroom was a set of earplugs. I was given no warning about this. Things were quiet...at first...until sirens started blaring overnight at street level down below. I was clear up on the 6th floor and could still hear them. The last night I was there (remember the adjoining room I mentioned) the group in the adjoining room was either very loud, or this set of adjoining doors had the worst noise isolation characteristics in the world. Probably a combination of both. I finally had to call the front desk and ask them to send someone up. I hate to be "that guy" but this Hampton really let me down overall.

Pros: We regularly stay at Hampton's so are very familiar with them. This one was perfect for visiting the Rock Hall and Progressive Field. Everything was expected for a typical Hampton Inn. The breakfast was probably the worst part. They didn't seem to keep the food stocked up so there was scraps left both mornings that we ate there. Our room only had 2 towels, which I found strange, usually there are 4. I had to ask for a 3rd for the 2nd morning. We didn't bother having maid service because they didn't show up until 3pm and by that time we had been out and back and were relaxing for a bit. Valet parking was good but it does cost $20 per night.

The staff was perfect as well; doing anything to help.

I like to use my iPad before bed but the wifi was so poor and so slow I didn't have the chance. Also, you have to pay for using over 510 KB, which is kind of ridiculous. The breakfast bar is a total rip off, the food is stale and dry and flavorless. Skip this and grab something to eat at the grocery store down the block. Finally, the staff seems really uninterested in making you feel welcome. The waitresses at the breakfast bar were more concerned with their phones, and the front desk was rather cold.

Everything was clean, and the bed was super comfortable. There was a market attached to the back of the hotel where we got lunch for a more reasonable price than if we had probably found a resturant. Because we were only there for one night they offered us a reasonably priced alternative for parking. We would stay here again if we eve came back.

Pros: The location opposite Progressive Field was superb. I went there to watch the Cleveland Indians baseball team. Apart from that the room was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was great too. It's a pity that my stay was so short, but Cleveland is a nice city, and I was impressed with the whole place.

Pros: The bellmen were outstanding with holding our luggage in storage while we waited 2+ hours for our car at check-out on new years day. They were what made an otherwise unpleasant experience tolerable and actually enjoyable.

Cons: I'm a stickler for good service and the Westin did exactly what they were required to, but nothing more. For example, I asked for a fruit platter & champagne to be put in the room. It was my husband's birthday and it sucked we were stuck in a hotel after a business trip, so I wanted to make it a bit more exciting. Most the fruit was fine, but they didn't pick out the moldy grapes and shriveled berries. There were two glasses for coffee, but provided only one cup serving of grounds. The bag of coffee itself couldn't be opened easily, and since we were traveling, we had no sharp objects. The vanity mirror was broken. Little stuff adds up and I was overall disappointed for a $250+ night.

Pros: the cleaning crew didn't take my things. That's always a plus. However the food at the restaurant was not bad at all. and the drink specials were great. You don't have to stay at the hotel to take advantage of the slightly above average food and drink.
Cons: I will start off by saying I think Kayak should remove this hotel as an option from their customers. I booked and paid for three nights, however I slept there the first night. I crashed with a friend the remainder of my stay. Walking up to the hotel, by looking at the windows, I thought the building was abandoned until I saw cars in the parking lot. there was dried blood on the sheets (washed and dried into the sheets) when I checked in. They didn't change my sheets after the first night, but simply made the bed. whenever the room adjacent to me used the sink, I would hear this reverberating sound that resembled a jack hammer crushing concrete. When I say whenever, I mean EVERY TIME they used their sink. Between the severely stained carpet (which by the feel of it you can tell the dirt was permanently caked and embedded in the fabric) and the smell of the hallway and the hotel room (I don't know how they managed to produce two separate but equally deplorable scents), I honestly felt like I had to take a shower after staying there in order to feel clean. The only reason why I did not complaints the hotel staff/management is because it is apparent that this is a permanent characteristic and not an isolated incident or unique circumstance. This is the way in which this hotel presents itself. Additionally I was there for a conference, which took my focus and actually took my attention and feeling of complete disgust away from the hotels conditions. In my opinion, because of its proximity to Cleveland State Iniversity, I feel they take advantage of customers quality of life standards by luring them with cheap prices.

Cons: This hotel is in a run down looking part of town and doesn't feel very safe. It's physical presence fits in with the other run down buildings there. There were broken windows on the hotel as we pulled up. The first key we got was to a room that was already occupied, so we had to go back down and get another key. The room smelled horrible. The towels and pillows weren't exactly clean. Under the beds had not been cleaned either as there were crumbs and dust under them.
