First I was assured there was no real damage and sixt does not nickel and dime customers when I returned my vehicle. I have the agent on video saying this. Them today I get a damage report, and while it's annoying enough having to fill it out, I can't even upload the video because of size limits. When I called to complain about this, after being on hold twice for over 10 minutes, I was told only the damage department can do anything, and they don't open until 10 Eastern time. Why in the world would I want to rent with sixt again if this is how they treat customers, particularly ones who did nothing wrong and didn't damage the vehicle?? Terrible service.

The service during pickup was not good. The customer service representative was very aggressive and tried to get us to buy more insurance through ACE although we purchased additional insurance through Kayak for this rental and told her this. She also tried to get us to buy a policy ($15/day) to cover tolls in Denver and the surrounding area, warning us if we didn't, they'd charge us $50 plus all the tolls. We told her we weren't planning on being in Denver for more than a day and she said 'you're just not getting the math. This will save yo money.' However, we soon discovered toll roads (or express lanes) are completely optional (and rarely save any time) in Colorado. It was very deceptive and she was not friendly. Also, we booked an SUV and the car we got hardly qualified as an SUV and was not great at handling the roads/elevations in Colorado (it was more of a city car). I'll never use ACE again.

I was not allowed to pickup a vehicle as they said it couldn’t be driven out of state. This was never mentioned at time of reservation. We asked for a refund which I have yet to receive and will probably never receive. I would never ever recommend ACE even to an enemy. We had to make a sudden change for Enterprise and they were very helpful and Enterprise even gave us an upgrade. Avoid ACE if at all possible, they may have cheaper rates but the service is horrendous, and they still owe me a refund. Buyer beware read the fine print online always. We originally went through Kayak, which then connected to Expedia, and finally to ACE. ACE and Expedia both have said they can’t give me a refund for services they never provided. I feel robbed and this ruined an already somber trip for a memorial service for family. Thanks for taking our money for nothing you thieves. Never again! Worst rental experience ever, and I’ve even driven a rental years ago from a major chain that had dog hair and urine in the back hatch area. ACE Rental Car is hands down the new winner for number one worst rental experience ever. And I didn’t even touch keys for one of their vehicles because I never picked one up, we asked for our refund in person at time of pickup. Give me my money back you evil people! A good company would make this right. All I’ve gotten is the runaround and rejection emails blaming me or the other company either Expedia or ACE. You need to make your contracts more clear so people know the rental is only allowed to travel within the state rented. I can understand not driving out of the country, but sorry we mentioned we were going out of state, we could have lied and you would have likely tracked us by gps anyway and screwed us over even worse with some stupid hidden fee. Arrived at the Denver Airport Avis facility at approximately 12:45 am on Saturday October 18, 2025. The line of 50 customers was wrapped around the waiting area (think Disney ride line). Avis had 1 (one) agent on duty. A second Avis representative came out and addressed the crowd of customers by stating “We don’t have any cars but we can rent each of you a 15 passenger van. You can come back tomorrow and try to exchange it if we have any cars by then.” The customers became irate. Many left but many, including me, stayed because there were no other viable options at that time of the day. 2 hrs later I was issued a vehicle. I received an email from someone claiming to be an Avis representative at that facility the night before my rental period was scheduled to end. They asked for photos of the key fob and vehicle information since they didn’t know what vehicle I had been issued. I called the Avis national call center because I suspected that the email was a phishing attempt. The representative recommended that I not respond to the email and that the branch could contact me by phone if they had questions. I returned the vehicle at approximately 4:00 am on Monday October 20, 2025. The parking lot Avis representative scanned the vehicle in and told me that I would receive my receipt by email. I phoned the Avis national call center multiple times after I returned the vehicle and finally received the receipt 6 days after I had returned my vehicle. Interestingly enough, I also received a second email from the branch 6 days after I returned my vehicle asking for the same information about my vehicle. This was the single worst rental experience in more than 40 yrs of renting cars.

The pickup line took 45 minutes, which really needs to be addressed. The staff were very nice and helpful, and drop-off took only seconds, so it’s clear the issue is with the pickup process itself. I had already filled out all my information in advance to expedite things, but still ended up waiting in line for 45 minutes. It seems this is a common problem, yet the technology exists to make this process much faster and more efficient.

The best part was the rental agent - M. was super helpful and he helped secure a car for me last minute with the best deal. Don’t expect the nicest cars - they are fairly used but the price is generally worth the value.

Thos company is a bait and switch company. Very displeased. I rented a mid sized suv and paid in full when reserved. When I showed up they said I only paid for a compact suv. No, it was very clear what I rented. I had to pay more than double again to get what I wanted when I picked it up. I paid over 300 dollars when I reserved my car, when I picked it up it was almost another 500 dollars extra. I will never rent from this company again. I will never recommend this company. I will talk bad about this company to anyone looking torrent from fox rentals. Do not use them for anything. You've Been warned.

Waited over 30 minutes for transportation from the airport to the rental office before we decided to take an Uber! Long lines, long wait times, unhelpful agent, poor communication, dirty car (even after a quick rinse they call a car wash), no up-to-date charging port in the vehicle…. Probably one of the worst experiences in recent times.
Entry agent was agreeable but not overly friendly. We received a different vehicle than I thought we were getting. I had reserved a Ford Econostar 12 person van but ended up with a Kia van with a third row. It did meet our needs and was a very nice car, but you had to climb in through the hatch to get to the third row. Thankfully we only took a few local trips after we reached our destination.

After waiting for over an hour past my reservation time I was told that no cars matching my reservation would be available for another and if I wanted to something now I’d have to pay another 25 as day for a pickup. I got picked up by the Payless shuttle and then dropped off at the Avis counter. The Avis company had a hard time finding my reservation even tho I told them it was for Payless. They finally found the reservation after looking in the Payless system. I had reserved a 2 door like vehicle but they gave me a 4 door Volvo instead. The car turned on and went on my way, but then realized main control screen that did the radio and air conditioner did not work. I pulled over on the highway and watched a video on how to reset the Volvo display system and then it worked. I just won’t use Payless or Avis again.

The customer rep who assisted us when we picked up the car maybe had the best customer service I've ever experienced renting a car. It did not seem like he was trying to trick us into paying more for something we didn't need, very clear instructions, extremely friendly and informative. The shuttle and drop off process was very fast and easy to navigate.

When I booked this car rental through Kayak, the listing gave me a set price that included unlimited miles, multiple drivers, and my insurance. After waiting nearly two hours in line at the Thrifty counter in Denver, I was told that the listing was incorrect and that I owed twice as much as I'd already paid -- and that if I wanted multiple drivers, it'd cost me much more. I really don't like being lied to, and both Kayak and Thrifty lied to me and gave me terrible service. I'll never use either company again.

The people at the service counter were friendly and tried to be helpful, however, they could not give me the car I had reserved or the equivalent. I had to add over 100 miles to my travel to avoid a snowy route.

We went to pick up the car and the lady outside then said we have an electric car, but we had a large SUV. Made me prove it in an email after the guy inside said we had a small SUV. The car was malfunctioning and we brought it to Alamo rental at the airport but they didn’t help at all. We were forced to park the car and leave it at our families. Location was short on vehicles. Employees were working hard to keep wait to a minimum, even giving free upgrades if category reserved wasn't available. Shuttle bus driver was exceptional also - loading all bags so customers could get to the counter quickly and safely. SUV was in great shape with fewer miles than I've seen in rental cars since the pandemic. Excellent overall experience!

They canceled my pick up truck because my flight was delayed 1 hour. I listened to a Hertz agent rent the truck I had reserved to another couple. They said there was nothing they could do. No empathy. Also, it was 1:30 in the morning. I was tired and stranded at the airport. They had no other available vehicles.

Nice car for value but passenger inside seat was dusty and had dog hair on it. By the time we realized it we had already loaded the back with luggage and 2 kids car seats. Plus, after you stand in line for 25min to get the car, you really don’t want to go back inside and try and get a new car. We asked someone for help and they directed us towards the car wash but we declined. We used his rag to attempt to clean. I later got to our destination and cleaned it myself. Would not rent from here again. Also, they have very small buses to get to the airport. So, you may be waiting for a second bus to come. Would not rent from here again.

Pros: - cheapest option available, and a car is a car Cons: - car itself smelled odd (I suspect cigarette smoke masked by air freshener) and had visible grime in multiple areas of center console: staff advised that the smell was actually the soap they used to clean the car (!). - repeatedly tried to upsell us to a larger car and to charge us extra for a toll pass despite my explaining we didn’t need a larger car or a toll pass - advised we should pay more for a larger car as we were going to “the mountains”, again despite me explaining our trip would be entirely on interstate highways - tried to pre-sell us a tank of gas by stating they were “definitely” cheaper than anywhere in the vicinity. Transpires the gas station literally across the street was 10c/gallon cheaper. Summary: - cheapest option but expect a mediocre / dirty car and aggressive dishonest sales tactics

I would have rated 5 stars as everything was exceptionally good until i wanted to extend rental for five days. They gave me two options- Pay 300 "extension fee" on top of original daily rate or come back to airport close out first contract open new one. It was a huge waste of time just to try and extract huge fee.

Well, first let’s not kid ourselves this is Fox Rent a Car. They are not located with the main rental car companies at the complex. Instead they are about a 1/4 mile away in another area. The moment you get there, it’s about the upsell. At checkout, mind you this was pre-paid, he tacked on gas and tolls. I never said I wanted either. So, then there was that. Everything was filthy, the shuttle bus drivers were taken from nascar and it just reeked of used car lot vibes.

I didn’t pick up the rental. I called customer service for a refund because we got picked by the wrong ride, we had to stand in line for a long time and they asked for $500 security deposit. I canceled the rental and the customer service staff told me to call the company I booked my reservation with. York rental is a big joke!

The vehicle was indistinguishable from a similar rental anywhere else. The pickup process included phrasing that sounded like I was required to purchase additional insurance and the news that if I used a toll road there’s be a charge close to $30. The return was the real issue. No one was at the counter 2 hrs after they open. I just left the keys on the desk at the insistence of someone working at a desk for an unrelated company who kept saying “she’s definitely around here somewhere.” Called the shuttle driver to see how long it would be (since there’s only one) and he hung up on me when I tried to find out if “it’ll be a little bit” meant 10 minutes or 30.

Terrible, I never got the car. The rental car company was not open after 1:00 on a Sunday. This is. Opted somewhere in the fine print but never clearly highlighted. After standing on the curb waiting for a shuttle for half an hour I called the office and they were closed. I had to switch to Budget rental cars at the last minute and wound up paying a premium for that!!!!

I want start by saying that this was the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. I had a confirmed reservation at 9 AM at the Rent a Wreck location off airport in Denver. They tried to contact me by phone the previous day, but they didn’t leave any voicemail so I didn’t know it was them and I wasn’t able to answer the phone. Later that day, which is the night before my rental pick up, I called the number back and it said the voicemail box was full and no one would pick up. Then when I was waiting at the airport for my shuttle I was supposed to call the same number for a shuttle pick up. Same thing. No one answered and the voicemail box was full. I then got a separate ride to the Rent a wreck, location off airport and the doors were locked and no one was there. I had to go down the street to a different rental company and I spent $460 on that rental when it would have just been $160 through rent a wreck. I was getting confirmation emails saying my rental was confirmed even after these calls. However all of the pre check in email links were broken links and I couldn’t check in. When I dropped off my other rental I stopped by the rent a wreck location and they said they aren’t even open on Saturdays, which was the day of my scheduled pickup. I was stranded, alone and honestly a bit scared. I am requesting a full refund. How do I get my deposit refunded?

The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. The man who checked us in acted as though we were an inconvenience to his life. He was very condescending and quite rude. He would seem very bothered by any of my questions. I had requested a different car and when I asked about it, he told me they were very similar with an attitude. When we did get in the car, it obviously had not been cleaned. It was very dirty. No one walked us around a check for scrapes or dents. When we drop the car off, a man offered us a ride to the airport with the van. He was very nice. It was very quick. However I did not have cash to tip him and then he was rude that we didn’t give him tip. I will never rent a car through this company again. I highly recommend you removed them as your vender list. Rude dirty did not feel the value. I can take my money elsewhere.

Transport back to airport was also slower, and the driver was having a heated argument with someone there on the phone as well, making us pretty uncomfortable.
