The first person who assisted me was very nice and help me getting a better car for the snow so I upgraded to a 4x4 SUV my renthaving the car clean no with mud and dust and papers and stuff inside plus with wash fluid because at the middle of my trip from Denver to Vail I got the low wash fluid sign the first time I used it so obviously before getting to Vail I ran out of wash fluid in the middle of a snow storm which made the beginning of my trip very dangerous because of a lack of supervision from your company which delivered a car which has recently dropped at your facilities, very bad honestly.

The lady who assisted us in dropping off the car was very pleasant and I appreciated that, as it was very cold and early. The shuttle to the airport was prompt and helpful.I had reserved a car for around $200 online. When I arrived (after standing in a line for over 30 minutes) I was told that I had to have an AWD vehicle by state law. I "was lucky" and they had 1 AWD vehicle left in stock. It took my total to $755. If that is the case, why even have the other vehicles available to rent in the first place? I saw plenty of people driving non-AWD rental cars and they presumably didn't get fined. I was also urged to purchase a toll pass for $9.99/day because "I would definitely go through multiple tolls". I didn't go through one toll and had to pay $69.93 for nothing. It seems like a big scam and rip off. I hope that NO ONE is taken "advantage" of like I was again.

Farah, who welcomed me at the counter, was very personable and professional.The car was dirty inside and out. probably due to the previous day's snowstorm. In addition, the gas tank was not full although hard to tell from the gauge. It was only obvious when refilling.

Not much other than the car worked fine and was availableNot being snaked into a price that wasn’t real. Upon arrival I find out I “need” a 4 wheel drive. There goes an additional 100 bucks to my charge. The staff who helped me was cold and unwelcoming.

Terrible customer service. If you want a ghetto rental car with minimum customer service help. Fox is your rental car company of choice. Staff behind the desk was more worried about their night then helping customers. Rude short and dramatic responses. The only helpful part of the experience was the shuttle driver to and from the airport he deserves a raise.

Tacked on lots of ridiculous fees upon pick up, ended up paying over double what was quoted. Car was in rough condition with almost 90,000 miles. Wipers on the car were essentially useless and clearly needed changed months ago. Customer service rep was on the phone with someone with her AirPods in throughout the entire pick up process. All in all, would not rent with them again. Go with a trusted brand like Hertz or Enterprise.

The car was in line with what they said I was receive but they were dishonest about the charges and charged me more than twice the amount I was promised to pay. ($150 per payed on Priceline plus $266 in person… still pending additional charges). They charged for a full tank of gas on top of the charges no matter what you used and in addition to tolls they charged $12 per day for the toll pass which they did not clarify. I will be filing for a grievance with my credit card company if they refuse to fix the issue.

Deceptive rental agents and lots of lies. Do yourself a favor and pick somewhere else. Look at reviews from other sites as well. These people manipulate phrasing to make you pay for things you don’t want like prepaid fuel and unnecessary upgrades. Steer clear!!!

Great price vs. the competition. Efficient check in and drop off process. Helpful people at both ends. Only complaint is the vehicle was pretty old— 54,000 miles, had lots of “service needed soon” lights on, struggled and pinged when going up long uphills in high altitude.

And all the other staff from selecting our car from a lot of vehicles to return were friendly, helpful and efficient. Would definitely rent from the Denver Alamo location again.

When you reserve an suv from Denver to Aspen in winter they really need to guarantee you at least an all wheel drive. I was lucky to get one - a Nissan Rogue - but they generally seemed to have front wheel drive which doesn’t satisfy the exemption from snow chains in bad weather.

I didn't like anything. I experienced total confusion and chaos while trying to pick up a car I reserved several weeks earlier. I was ripped off for liability coverages and waivers I didn't ask for, and was not offered. DO NOT RENT FROM ENTERPRISE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL. I could write a short story about how bad my experience was. I've been trying to get help from Enterprise for days to resolve the bad experience, and keep getting the run around. "somebody will call", but nobody has. Rent a car from a different company.

This was my first rental with enterprise and we had the car for two months! Pick-up close to 2 hours but this was partially because the overall situation is bad! No matter where you go, businesses are short staffed! They were very friendly and helpful! Unfortunately the car was not very clean! It was already dark at pickup so we didn’t see it right away. Besides that, we were able to solve most issues and we received a discount! I would go back and give them a second chance, they deserve it! We drove 7900 miles and the car had no issues! Hope the industry goes back to pre-COVID pricing and car availability!

Car needs to be retired. Speed control hardly ever worked and the passenger seat was the most uncomfortable car seat I've sat in for decades. Hourly stops to change drivers to the better driver's seat were mandatory. Sad, sad car.

BE CAREFUL WITH SIXT. Their business model seems to be to provide good cars and then sting you for the slightest scratch. We were charged an additional $1,300 for a scratch on the front bumper that we had no knowledge of. The whole process was run after the drop off and we had no recourse. They have a contract and your credit card details and they can charge whatever they want. I’m absolutely certain that they did not repair this damage and I am not certain it was us that caused it.

Did not honor my reservation and almost charged double price just to upgrade from compact to full size and he forced me to upgrade , actually 4 times he charged then I said I don’t want them just doubled. I highly don’t recommend SIXT rental car

Like I said in the earlier review for Hertz in Denver they were awful and very unhelpful and I had to go find another car at the last minute while sitting there at the Hertz location at the airport in Denver! luckily I was able to get through to Stix and they were able to help me with a reservation and upgraded me to a suburban . I did pay a lot more than I would normally pay for a suburban in Denver but I was desperate and Hertz had put me in this situation and I will not ever rent through Hertz again. Stix will be who I call from now on!

The last 5 cars I've rented at Avis Denver, all within the last 6 months, have had some safety-related issue. All 5 vehicles had an issue with wiper blades, washer fluid, or tires. Seemingly small issues, but in winter driving conditions they're safety issues when, for example, you can't clear the front windshield in sub-freezing temperatures. Yes, of course, I can pull into a gas station to replace the wiper blades myself, fill up washer fluid, or inflate tires properly. But on every one of my last 5 rentals?

The car was not full of gas when I received it and I returned it with more than I received. I took pictures as proof. The guy at the rental charged me $11. It was also larger than I wanted and it wasn’t clean. I’m guessing you give the garbage cars to Priceline customers. The gas thing ticks me off because I know and you know it will be long phone wait times to even discuss it and it probably won’t get resolved.

As with most rentals the price seen here per day isn’t the price you’ll end up paying, budget for the extra fees, tax, insurance, etc so there are no surprises. Avis Denver though is definitely worth it, great team, shuttle buses from airport were on time, entire staff was great and made genuine connections with us during our rental experience. Truck was clean and properly taken care of. Great weekend rental overall!

Employees were nice. I did ask a question about drop off and the answer she gave me was incorrect as per the Avis customer service rep I called to verify. The cars brakes and rotors were in terrible shape. Every time I hit the brakes the whole vehicle shook. I’ve never had a rental car that hasn’t been serviced regularly to fix these issues. Probably won’t use Avis again due to this.

There's no reason that it should take 45 minutes to rent a car for people that are prepared and ready. In today's world of technology it should be easy to get 90% of the hassle squared away before ever getting to the counter. But the 15 minutes per person with only 3 people working makes for a painful wait. Also if most of the paperwork was handled by modern technology it would be easier to not be SO shady with the policies. The GAS policy for example... Sure get it full, return it full... BUT if you don't have a receipt you get charged anyway. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL #$&%?

Do not count on getting the car you reserve. Do not count on getting the car you need; whether it's AWD or two vans instead of just one. Do not count on the person at the counter being able to help you with assistance from one of the other poorly trained representatives. Do not count on getting your car picked up in less than an hour of wait time. Do not count on the car you get working properly or not needing an oil change. Perhaps you may want to consider a different rental car company. Choose one of the non-major brands; they are all pretty bad from what I've been reading. Choose a small local company.

Budget did not have the car we reserved (small economy). They told us to wait outside in 40-degree 20-mph winds (Denver) for 15 minutes while a car was being prepared. Ended up being 45 minutes before before I finally complained that no one had brought us the car. After more waiting, they gave us a gas-guzzling SUV that we neither wanted nor needed. With the price of gas, we ended up paying an $30 to 40 more in gas than we would have otherwise. Two thumbs down.

Hidden fees. I paid an additional $23 for Roadside assistance that wasn't mentioned when picking up the car. Then, there was an additional $110 in various fees for airport, tax and ACE fees that were hidden as well. Be careful to get a detailed listing. My initial prepayment was for $316 for five days and I ended up paying $462!!!!!

Kayak said I had rented a full size SUV like a Nissan Pathfinder, however, had a picture of a Nissan Armada SUV. Budget system said I had rented a Standard Elite SUV such as a Nissan Pathfinder. I was misled into believing it was the full size SUV. Budget was not workable at all on this!

Despite being pre-registered, the pick-up process took a long time- the person at the counter needed to ask for help several times. I think we go the oldest car on the lot with (literally) parts missing. Window trim was gone and the car had a terrible air leak in the window that was really loud and irritating. Car was very dirty upon pick up. Return process was very smooth.

Worst experience ever. Reserved and called to Confirm 2x a 4wheel drive to go into the mountains, literally had to go back to the lot 3x to switch cars and basically beg for one even though the lot was full of them. Absolute shit serivce almost ruined the entire trip

Friendly, professional, timely.The instructions for the pick up location at the airport should include "Off-Airport Rental Car". AVR was in small letters below & hard to see. We accidentally ended up on the wrong shuttle and had to go back to the airport and get the correct one. Mostly MY fault for not ready the signs properly!

Very quick for pick up and drop off. I called to let them know I arrived to airport and shuttle was there in minutes. Also quick shuttle return upon drop off as well.Employee during pick up was EXTREMELY nice, but as I pulled away I felt unsure of charges or what I initialed as she was so nice in explaining certain things, I lost concept of initial questions I was signing for as she was very efficient in moving me in and out.

The Payless airport shuttle bus picked us up late at night and by the time we got to the rental building, the gates were shut and everyone had gone home. The driver was visibly upset and took us to Avis instead. After we told the agent of our situation with Payless, the agent at Avis told us, “Yeah, I don’t know what they ever do there.” The rental car from Avis was not a good experience either. The rental car had no air conditioning, and we didn’t realize until we were outside of the city limits so my wife and I drove nearly 1000 miles with the windows down. Furthermore, the passenger side seat would not move back, so my wife had to sit in a cramped position for 2 days. For all our troubles, we were refunded only $50. I will not use Payless/Avis again. Save your money and pay a little extra to go somewhere else.

The computers were down when I picked up the vehicle. There was a very long line. It took almost an hour to get my vehicle even though I had a reservation. The car was barely rinsed off when I picked it up. It was still pretty dirty. Very nice car though. The drop off was quick and efficient.

The car was fineThe Pick up experience took over an hour from the shuttle dropping me off at the rental facility, to being taken to the car. it appeared as if there was no plan to help the volume of customers arriving in the late Friday evening, even though this is ski season and they knew full well the number of renters who would arrive. In addition, the people at the check in counter aggressively upsold, convincing me that I should pre-pay for a full tank of gas when that was not the best thing for me. They also tried to up sell me on vehicles. I will not be using EZ car ever again

I was upsold a 4wd bc the worker told me I would get turned around in Colorado for having 2wd, and was misinformed of the price too (there was no checkpoint, didn’t need it, paid more than what I was told) 2. The car pick up took way too long, apparently it was everyone’s first day so in training (literally, they told me) 3. I was OVERcharged and not given back a refund/credit 4. The shuttle driver wasn’t very friendly either 5. Needs a big change in management to salvage company reputation and operational efficiency

It was not open when I got there, which was at the time of the reservation. There was no shuttle to pick me up. There was nobody to talk to because they were closed. It cost me an hour of my time, while I figured out in the cold how to rent a car from another agency.

Terrible experience. The car did not look like it had been cleaned. We dropped off the car and were told that we were good. We were subsequently charged an extra charge but we were never given a receipt. No one answered the phones….still trying to get our money back. I will never use routes rental cars again!

Vehicle did not have low temperature windshield washing fluid and was located in Colorado. This led to a very unsafe driving experience because we could not clear the windshield during freezing conditions. The android auto feature also did not work due to the time being incorrect.

The wait for a car was about 80 minutes. I understand there is a shortage of cars but there were several open computers thrust could have been used to move customers through the line more quickly. Also, I had to purchase a battery from my own money for my key fob as the one for my vehicle didn’t work. The car was not very clean. Overall the rental was good, but not great due to the long wait and having to spend my money on a piece of equipment that should have been taken care of prior to my arrival.

Initially when we booked the truck it listed as $270 for the week. Other rental companies had their trucks listed for $600 for the week so we went with the obvious cheaper choice. When arriving to Dollar to pick up our truck we waited un line for over 2 hours, even though we had a reservation. After dropping off our truck at the end of the week I was charged an additional $280 in fees. The truck listed on the rental website for $270 so I was very shocked to be charged extra. Since the cost of the rental was similar to other companies I should have gone with one with a better reputation and customer service.

At pick up the person helping us get the car charged us an additional 360$ and when questioned about it said it was fees. It was not fees, the fees were 100$. he up charges us and what was supposed to be a 400$ car rental was now almost 800$. Took over an hour for a car that was pre-paid for. Car was missing wiper blades and had no foot mats. Horrible experience.

Enterprise is such an incredible company! After being turned away by Thrifty - alone, in the middle of the night, most of the way across the country from my home, Enterprise saved the day! They were so kind and compassionate to my situation, and even gave me a free upgrade because they didn't have the particular vehicle I had reserved from Thrifty. I'd like to thank Enterprise for taking an awful, seemingly hopeless situation and turning it into a great experience and a wonderful start to my work-cation. Turning it back in was a breeze, and everyone seemed happy to help. I would rate Enterprise 10/10 and will be renting from them again each and every time I travel!

Waited for 30 minutes for the shuttle from the Denver Airport to the Ace Rental Center. Called for a pickup after 20+ minutes but could only get through to the Vegas location as Denver supposedly didn’t have a phone number (only an email?). When finally picked up it took another 20+ minutes to get to the rental center (in little traffic). Cant’t say I’ll use Ace again

The overall smooth experience was overshadowed by the poor attitude of the employee checking us out at the pickup. The employees attitude kept getting worse every time we declined additional add ons to our rental. The mini van we had for the week worked out but probably was on its last leg. A lot of photos were needed at the checkout by the attendant of the interior and exterior. The ride was “bouncy” like it needed new shocks/struts and occasionally the vehicle would “lurch” when accelerating. I guess you get what you pay for.

There isn’t a way to call this location. That was very difficult for us, but there were regular shuttles and the people who worked there were very helpful. I even accidentally left my wallet in the rental car and they found it and called me and returned it to me. Overall, great staff and good with shuttles, but need a good phone number.

You may think you’re getting a deal here but then they upsell you at the counter, primarily for things you thought were included (like 4 wheel drive). I was also told I could bring the tank half full, but they charged me to fill the tank anyway. Just felt shady and deceptive. You’re likely going to pay top dollar here anyway so just go to a reputable car rental company instead!

Car was clean ended up getting hit with so much fees. I had paid damn near 300$ then get there to pick up my “Ford Focus “ and get a hero. Didn’t as for an upgrade but sure got charged for it. Ended up being damn near 700$

Would never rent from them again they stated they had a certain vehicle only to find out they didn’t and they were going to rent us something that wasn’t close to what we rented on line . So we were stuck out in the middle of no where in Denver Colorado and had to upgrade just to get a rental which cost us double of what we were quoted. Talk about a rip off!!!!!!

Excellent fun car/suv to driveThe Silvercar rental people were amazing. They explained all the features of the Audi I rented. They were super helpful when I had to switch the car for the Audi SUV due to more people arriving for Christmas. I would highly recommend using Silvercar to rent an Audi in Denver. Super fun car and SUV to drive!The only issue I had was navigating the web site, but I believe that was both an issue using a third party rental and my lack of knowledge. Once I got ahold of a Silvercar representative the issue was resolved quickly.

I hated every moment dealing with National. Upon arrival, the employees at the counter didn’t bother asking us for our reservation information they just turned us and the other clients away. Not only did they sell our reservation, which we had done with more than two months in advance, but they offered no type of solution or assistance to the problem THEY CREATED. Their cavalier responses were “try booking with another company” or “Uber to your destination”. No one in the counter really made an effort to deal with myself or the other clients who were also left screwed over by their poor management and decision making skills. Each and every single one of the employees just dumped the issue to the next until finally they pulled a lame excuse out of their asses as to why they wouldn’t even try to help us. They wanted to hold on to the fact that “it was late at night and they couldn’t do much.” I did take their advice and took my business elsewhere, and the lady at Avis went above and beyond to help me and my group of 17+ get a car to get to our destination. She did not care that it was past 3am and her shift had ended. She did everything she possibly could as a simple customer service associate to help me and my family. Something that EVERY SINGLE ONE of the National employees claimed they could not do because “it wasn’t in their power” I wouldn’t make a reservation with National or it’s affiliates even if my life depended on it. Definitely will tell every single person I know that National is by far the worst company to rent with and the customer service offered at the Denver International Airport location is so poor, that Satan himself would feel offended.

Our flight was delayed and when we got to National to pick up our vehicles (we had 2 different reservations), THEY HAD NONE! It was past 1am and the only thing we were told was "I'm sorry", "there is nothing we can do about it", "go to another rental car place and see if they have anything available". THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL; CUSTOMERS DEPEND ON THESE RESERVATIONS WHICH ARE DONE MONTHS IN ADVANCE, TRUSTING THAT NATIONAL WILL HONOR THEM. IT WAS A PARTY OF 17 PEOPLE AND WE WERE STRANDED, IN THE COLD, AT 1AM, WITH NOWHERE TO GO AND NO REAL HELP FROM YOU. WE WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH YOU AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND YOU TO FRIENDS AND FAMILIES. DO BETTER!!!!!

We had to wait about 45 minutes to get our vehicle due to the rental car shortage but they were kind enough to upgrade our vehicle and take a day off our rental cost. It was unfortunate but they provided good service under the circumstances!

Delays at pickupIt was impossible to hear the announcements they made in the shuttle from the airport, so there was some confusion about which stop to get off. The shuttle driver wasn't helpful at all. He totally ignored our questions. Luckily we got off at the right stop, but only to find that the facility was full of people waiting for cars. We were told the cars were coming in faster than they could turn them over, but I find this hard to believe since it was the start of a holiday weekend. We waited over an hour in line, and then we FINALLY got our car.

Might be better to rent somewhere elseThey charge quite a lot for insurance. Better to take up Kayak's $11 insurance instead of their minimum for $30. The lines at the airport for the shuttle were very long and then the front desk staff was not well trained. They were nice but did not know the features in their cars, they incorrectly gave me a car without a usb charger eventhough I offered to pay of an upgrade as long as the car had a usb charger. No one walked me to my car or gave me clear direction of how to find it and then no one walked me through the car features such as how to open the gas door.

No mention that US license was prohibitedthe carI live outside the USA. I occasionally go to the US and I need to rent a car. in the past I rented through kayak and europcar without a problem. however this time when I arrived I gave the representative my drivers license - which is a US drivers license - and they told me I could not rent the car. instead I would need to rent a new one for 3 times the price. they said an international rental could not be done in the USA with a USA license. However NOWHERE WAS I EVER INFORMED OF THIS. NOWHERE IS THIS RESTRICTION LISTED IN THE AGREEMENT THAT I SIGNED WITH EUROPCAR. I was forced to spend $150 on Uber for two days, and i went to AAA with Uber and for $20 i changed my license to an international license, and went all the way back to the airport to rent my same car - having wasted two days of the rental.
