Efficient service for pick-up and drop-off.The outline of the total costs were WAAAAAAAAY off. Will not be using the service again due to this. Gouged us for our trip.

Nice staff, didn't pressure upsell the insurance like I was worried about. Drop off in the city center was not as easy as expected, due to the lack of parking instructions. Value was outstanding.Need to provide clear instructions that if you are dropping off at the lower Drumconda location, there are no parking spots in front of the office. You need to pull into a bus lane and park there, which isn't ideal, but workable.

PriceThey try to rip you off on extra insurance. Concerned they’ve charged us extra. Have to keep an eye on what they actually charged. They did put a 5000€ hold on the card because we declined their insurance.

Staff when doing the paperwork to pick-up the car more helpful & friendly. Staff at the actual car pickup lot less helpful & one a bit dismissive when you asked questions. Staff when dropping off the car a bit unfriendly & seemed a bit irritable. If you are going to Ireland, do your homework about what your personal auto insurance will cover (call them & let them know where you are going) & also call your credit card company to see if they have primary or secondary insurance when renting the car because many credit card companies don't there

Picking up and dropping off from The terminal 2 station was very easy. You $5,000 hold on a card if you don't choose their insurance is ridiculous. the car was an automatic, but it felt like it was powered by hamsters.

Pickup and drop off was easy. This company essentially forces you to purchase full insurance. We traveled to Ireland and rented a car for a few days. I put the rental car on my credit card, and they explained to me that if you don’t buy insurance they will put a 5,000€ hold on my card if I don’t buy insurance.

Having a car in IrelandOnce I got off my plane I had to wait a while to get a budget shuttle to where they keep the cars. Once I got there I waited in line behind maybe 7 people for TWO HOURS before I finally got to checkout with my car. And of course they charged a ridiculous amount of money for everything.

The insurance scam is always an issue, either your have thousands of euro to deposit, or you have to pay more than double the cost of rental to buy unnecessary insurance. When a website sells you a service for 130 € , you expect to pay that, not 470€. Avis would not even accept a credit card from another member of my family because it wasn't the same name. I'd hate to work in these places as the employees must know they are scamming people.

There are much cheaper car rentals Dublin. We rented for a week from another company and needed to add an extra day which they could not accommodate so we did a one day rental with Avis. The male counter person convinced me that it would cost me $39. NOT to have insurance vs $44. To have it. I wanted self insurance but he was insistent to upsell. The cost for a small car for the day was $160. Ridiculous. After researching our previous company we reserved with we realized their reviews were horrid and so we rented a week with Avis. When we got the vehicle at the Dublin airport there was no mention in the car documents ( detailed previous damage discriptions) of a missing front hubcap. For the remainder of the trip, tried to replace it along our route to avoid the replacement cost. Had this been included in the description, we would have been spared significant effort. We did get pressure again at the rental counter in Dublin to add $28. per day of additional insurance but the agent relented when I was adamant. Avis , stop this pressure to buy additional coverage and please be correct and up to date in the damage list you supply with the car at rental. I will say the car was a good one and our second agent was polite and efficient. Also it needs to be made very clear to renters that the car does not get returned ed to the rental location but to the terminal 2 parking garage.

Get off the plane after a 7 hour flight and get a rude attendant telling me the insurance that I had in place did not cover the car. He did his whole speech about always booking on their website to get the right insurance and that you can not book on any other site. It was awful. I had a 4 hour drive ahead of me and wanted to get out of the airport. Ruse and nasty people in Dublin Airport at AVIS and Budget rental. I don't know if true but one person told me that they get a commission on the insurance and that they always tell you that you need the most expensive option and don't back down.

Staff were very helpful at Avis but the insurance fees were outrageous and tripled the cost of the rental. That being said, I cannot commend them enough for how they handled our return of the car early due to COVID-19Quote insurance in advance and do a better job describing luggage space. We did not have enough space for 4 large pieces of luggage in this car

Extremely rude staff, particularly the woman working at the counter in Terminal 2 and the shuttle bus driver. Additional charges applied at time of collection which were not transparent during booking process. Car provided was much smaller than that advertised for the category. Slow pick-up/drop-offEverything, would never rent from them again

The outside of the car was dirty, the transmission would easily slip into reverse (no down press, or button to engage). They were going to charge me for a dent in the hood, fortunately my wife had taken a picture of it when we picked up the car.

the second car was very good. they helped us at the airport which was a better location. However, the agent that helped us was less than helpful. it needed to be clearer that if you didn't take their insurance they were going to put 7500 euros on your credit card. he was unwilling to provide options. In comparison we dealt with another company in glascow and they provided good alternatives with reasonable costs. A much better experience. The first car they gave us was old and not in good working order. we returned it and got a much better, newer car that worked well.

Insurance madnessMy credit card covered rental insurance fully and Europcar asked for an email from my bank/credit card company before giving me the car. I had to call my credit card provider and have them send an email to Europcar. Pretty damn ridiculous. All told, I wasted three hours getting all this sorted, and even after I finally got them what they needed, they put a EURO 5,000 authorization charge on my account, an obscene amount for a one-week rental. Also: There's a 25 EURO airport surcharge that I was never made aware of, and a 35 EURO charge to travel into Northern Ireland, which I also wasn't made aware of until the time of payment. I recommend you book elsewhere, because a Google search tells me that not all car rental companies charge for traveling into Northern Ireland.

Rental Quote and Actual Price and Car NOT THE SAMEThe car was grey.Upon arrival in Dublin we were shuttled to an outside airport location. The quoted vehicle was not available, altho we had reserved it several months ahead. In fact they said Dublin NEVER carries that model (a 9 passenger van). So we were given a smaller (7 pax) vehicle which was way too small for our 6 adults to enjoy for a week. The quoted price was 1/4 of what they ended up charging. We had insurance but they would not accept it and required we pay the Europcar offered policy. We have rented in many other countries without all the insurance demands. We would never have booked with them if the initial quote had been correct as other vendors had just what we wanted. Europcar is a real RIPOFF.

No any insuranceI. Didn't like anything. The booking made on kayak did not include any basic insurance, absolutely nothing, which is illegal. That's why kayak gave me low price. So when i arrived to the airport i was told that i didn't have any insurance. So they cancelled the booking and offered me a car for the same price but with insurance. I will never ever again use kayak and i will strongly recommend never to use it.

Perfect car for our tripSmall but fun car for cruising around Ireland. Great gas mileage with diesel and manual shift was crucial for backroads.I told them no coverage but they wouldn’t really take no for an answer and it doubled the cost so really paid WAY too much.

The MANDATORY insurance fees are absolutely ridiculous. On-wed scammed into thinking that the car rental fee was $4 per day and the insurance cost, which I booked online was another $30 per day. When I arrived, they forced me to pay all insurances or leave a $1,500 deposit, which I wasn't prepared for. The also require me to purchase the full tank of gas, which was 107 Euro, but said it would be refunded upon return if the tank was full. According to the quote thru Budget/Kayak, at the time of booking, it should have cost me approx 250USD. It ended up costing me over 800USD. I returned the car clean, full of fuel, and not a single scratch. I will NEVER rent thru Budget again, neither overseas or domestically!
6.0 Good2017 Nov 03
The carThey did not have the car size for the amount we reserved. So we were up Sold to a $600 car. Also kayak advertised the car we reserved as $100’dollars for the week and that was not what we were told at time of arrival they said it was $400 and we had to ultimately pay $600 up front. This is the last time I will book a car thru kayak.

First time renting outside of the USAEasy pick up and drop off and the staff was friendly. They patiently waited while we contacted our CC cards ref the insurance coverage. We had requested an automatic, but Europecar could not find our upgrade request, so we got stuck with what was available which was a BMW. In their defence, we never got a confirmation for our upgrade request, so it might not have been their fault. Our big mistake was not verifying with our credit cards that insurance would be covered. Our AX, MC and Visa did not provide insurance in Ireland, so we had to buy EuropCars insurance and it's not cheap. The total cost of 3 week rental of a BMW X1 SUV diesel was $1400 pounds. Do your homework and if you have a written agreed upon price make the rental company stick to it.

"Easirent isn't too easy" (direct quote from the guy at the HERTZ counter in the Dublin airport as I was asking for help finding them) The first problem was there was no notice that the easirent IS NOT AT THE DUBLIN AIRPORT. You have to call them and they will come pick you up. Landing from the US with no cell phone service in Ireland there is not an easy way to contact them. Everyone at Easirent was friendly; the guy at the counter, the shuttle driver etc. I would not rent from them again unless the price difference was substantial or you're prepared to call and wait for a shuttle to and from the airport.

The directions in the confirmation were wrong, we had to find the rental location. They did not allow me to use the insurance included with my credit card for the car insurance, I was forced to pay the insurance coverage.
2.0 Mediocre2022 Apr 27
Nothing stated in original booking that we needed to bring a letter from our insurance or credit card company (who covers all liability while abroad) to not have to pay for the rental companies coverage. Wouldn’t let us take the car without it. Same thing happened to the people in front of us and the were from the UK. This is a scam to get you to pay for their insurance coverage. This also is complicated because they are located off-site in a run down business/industrial park so you have no option but to go with their insurance. Highly recommend that Kayak and Priceline evaluate working with this group and implement some warning to customers before they rent a car from Easirent!
2.0 Mediocre2022 Apr 23
First of all: The staff from Easirent was very kind and I had no problems with them. But... 1. we booked through Kayak with Priceline a car from Easirent. At the pickup we were charged around 40% more due to an insurrance that wasn't included in the Priceline price but what is mandatory in Ireland. The offer from Priceline is misleading and a lot of customers where angry about that. Some others booked there also. Obviously because without an insurance it was the best offer in the comparison. 2. The car was damaged! There was a damage at the right front light and the light wasn't fixed anymore in the car. I have blinded other cars with it! This is an absolutely no-go! This car has to be repaired before rented out to other customers. 3. They blocked a deposit of 2.100 EUR! Come on, this is more than the price of the whole car :D This leads all in all just to a worse review which actually would not have been necessary.

I was weary at first based on some reviews, but it was an excellent experience. Was a bit tricky finding pick up/drop off spot, but it’s more of an airport feature than the rental company. We rented an automatic, electric (!) car as it had way cheaper rate. We got brand new Peugeot 2008e SUV - awesome car. It did require a bit of planning with charging, but we drove 1,5 hours into countryside, charged at out hosts overnight, went another 1,5 hrs to Hook lighthouse, then Waterford, charged there while having lunch, etc. very doable. Car came with ESB charging card, so I didn’t have to pay for charging. Also I used my master card rental insurance - as was instructed by company I brought a letter of coverage from my credit card company that had my name, my card number, and Ireland as a country of coverage. Smooth process, no problems.

Rental office: far from airport, old, unusual building in a truck depot, not 100% fit for purpose. Customer service: poor attitude, except for drivers to & from airport who were very good. Car: normal, fine. Price: charged extra for insurance, no apology, very poor customer service. Note: 1 requested passport first time this happened. 2 they charge for tolls after, and said it was cheaper BUT it's not, they charge an "administration fee" of €10 which is triple the price of one toll. 3 on their terms, if you're 15mins late dropping off the car, they charge you a full day rental.

Staff Very Customer Service OrientedThe staff was responsive to my needs and very helpful. Make sure you consider insurance and GPS needs prior to arriving. You should get both if you don't have adequate coverage from your personal insurance company...or have a GPS option. Also, do not get a manual shift. It's challenging enough to drive with an automatic. It is preferred to get a diesel vehicle as 70% of the cars in Ireland are diesel. The roads are narrow...get a "small" car!! Over all it was a positive experience and I will use Enterprise again when in Dublin.Transfer from the airport to the car lot is confusing. Make sure to clarify how to get transported to the car lot.

I used my credit card’s insurance guarantee, but nowhere in the reservation did it say that to do do ALSO required a letter from my credit card company stating (1) that they cover the Republic of Ireland, (2) they will cover the lace loss if totaled, and (3) the last 4 numbers of my cc account. So at the Europcar desk I had to make that phone call, wade through a few phone trees, then talk to a couple of humans. I did get the letter (great service by my cc bank!) but I was lucky - that approval process may take up to 24 hours. The Europcar desk agent said this happens “quite a bit” with the brokers because you don’t provide the information about what each rental car company requires to use the cc insurance waiver benefits. I suggest adding a link to your process that will take your to the specific rental car company page for their CDW. I did use the link provided for my rental but it did not say I would have to get the letter etc.

Mid size cars (Skoda Fabia not Astra)I rent an Astra with ar conditioning. Thrifity gave me a Skoda Fabia without AC. At the desk rental the attendant has confirmed that the car size for this rental is Fabia and there was no AC. The car got a flat tyre during the trip.Car type is not Astra as advertised, is a Skoda Fabia, very short on accessories.

The drop off was very efficientIt took quite a few minutes at pick up; not sure if they weren't expecting as many customers at that time or just didn't have enough staff. Took about 30 mins to get our car.

Was thinking ld category of car would be allocated at the desk, only to be given a huge van with not one car available to upgrade to. A totally inappropriate vehicle.

Quick drop-off, no hassles. It was a quick drop-off, just like I'm used to in the US. Everything was in order, and there were no hassles. The shuttle came within about 5 minutes.

Didn’t even take the car. Got to the counter and was told that the actual price was 950 euro as basic insurance was not included in the kayak quote- which I was quoted at 145 euro. Ridiculous misadvertising on kayaks part.
