Left us waiting at 1am at LAX for over an hour as we watched shuttle after shuttle of other rental car companies drive by us. Long check in, It took another hour at the check in desk to give us a car. The car I had reserved was no longer available. They did gave us a comparable rental. Will never use this rental car company again :(

I rented from them because they advertised an American Car for rental, when I got there, there was only one that just by chance was being brought in from the car wash. It was a great Jeep and I would love to rent it again.

At pick-up, I pointed out a problem with the wiper blades. The rubber on the blades was separating from the rest of the apparatus. The staff pointed out that rain was not in the forecast and sent us on our way. The blades continued to separate once we began driving on the highway, and completely separated a day or two later.Staff could have either replaced the blades or given us another car.

Enterprise had a limited choice of rental vehicles in the compact SUV class. When we arrived, they only had one car - a Buick which was unsatisfactory due to poor visibility out of the right side. Car had very large headrests and tiny tinted back side windows which made it nearly impossible for driver to view blind spot on right side. Rep didn’t offer a vehicle in the next class up (mid-sized SUV) without additional charges. Don’t ever rent a Buick compact SUV. It’s hazardous to drive in heavy traffic due to its very limited visibility.

The minivan we rented was great. HOWEVER, we were stressed and inconvenienced to return our car at the location and time on our ticket, only to find that that the location was closed! (Not the LAX location, but a dropoff in San Diego). We drove to 3 different Enterprises near the San Diego airport in order to return the vehicle and lost important time before our flight. Why were we asked to return a vehicle to a place at a time when it was closed? Poor communication between the Enterprise locations - clearly LAX is not talking to San Diego, but that is the business of a car rental. It was really stressful. We could have missed the flight.

deeper cleaning of the vehicle. it smelled like weed and old food. there was a bowl of something?!? spilled into the thigh/knee supports on the seat. nothing rolling down a window didn’t fix!

Drop off super easy.I asked about returning it to San Diago airport instead of LAX and was told it would cost over $1000 for a renta that only cost 250 up until then. That was a ridiculous cost in my opinion. Other than that it went very well.

Both the pick up and drop off were very easy! The Nissan versa was spacious and comfortable enough for a road trip from LA to Vegas through death valley. Will use sixt again in the future!

Car had many ‘details’ at pickup. Little marks and scratches. About 17 items worth. They were listed by an employee and I have a copy of the list. Vehicle was also on the dirty side. Has not been washed. Apart from that, the vehicle performed as expected.

Other than the pick-up, all other aspects of our first experience with Sixt were fine. We waited for some time in a line that should have been expected (shuttle drop-off) and anticipated with a staffing up. Instead, there were only two check-in people, with up to four other staff members standing about chatting with each other and checking their phones - and then offering us cookies. It was frustrating to feel that their customers' time wasn't being valued, and that they weren't doing all they could to get everyone taken care of as quickly as possible.

Difficult to get to, long lines, rude staff, and they didn't let me pick-up the car because I didn't have the credit card I used to book with me (I was in a different state when I booked) and left it at home--I had a picture of the front and back that my family texted me, but still they would not release the car.

The LAX shuttle was packed with people (standing room only) and some passengers were wearing their mask improperly or were without mask. Same as in the line to register for the car at the AVIS terminal. The line at the AVIS terminal was unlike anything I'd seen (in a negative way). I waited for over an hour in line to pick up my car, when I was on time. The line was very long and moved very slowly. When I finally got to an agent, I had to wait a few more minutes because the car I'd reserved wasn't ready. I don't understand how this could be, since your system knew I'd reserved a certain model of car, for a pickup time 90 minutes earlier.

The last time I was in LA I rented a car from a DIFFERENT company. Terrible car! Terrible service. I was hesitant to rent a car again in LA for that reason. I’ll stick to Avis!

I'm sure that is the reason why my car was broken into. I believe they need to change that. Employees were pleasant. However, we had to wait 30 minutes for them to get our vehicle ready. When the employee dropped off the Ford Focus the car had a smell of marijuana I notified the attendant about the odor and he said he didn't smell anything. Since it was 11:30 PM and they didn't have another car ready we took the car hoping that the deodorizer they used would eliminate the order over night... never worked in fact it got worse.

I spent as much time waiting in line, 90 minutes, waiting to pick up my reserved Dollar vehicle at LAX as my flight took to go from Sacramento to Los Angeles. At various times there were only three customer service employees working to handle a line that stretched to the door. I rationalized that Dollar could afford to offer the cheapest rentals because it does not pay enough employees to efficiently run its operation.

We had reservation for a certain car but there wasn’t any available and the rep offered a bigger car but wanted to charge me of course. I did not get any discount on the car I took even though it was smaller than what I tried reserving. The charge was for a specific car and I did not get a car that size. I understand the upsell but then it should be the same with a lesser vehicle.

How is waiting 4 1/2 hours for a car that was reserved days before. The line to get to the service counter wrapped around the outside of the building. Apparently this has been the norm for quite a while. Customers should be warned before making reservations. To make things worse, there were no apologies from any of the employees,only from a couple of the security people.

The rental line was 3 hours long. No explanation, help or information. Just a massive line at the pickup location. Missed meetings and meals. Then they overcharged me for gas. Basically equaled about $6/ gal for what the charged me for the prepay fill up. It’s the first time I had tried it because the agent said it was cheaper than gas outside. I should have known not to listen to any agents- had a moment of weakness actually trusting someone. Don’t rent here. Get an Uber into town to enterprise or somewhere else away from the airport and fill up yourself so you don’t get ripped off.

Took more than 3 hours in line to pick up the car. the processing was extremely slow, lines too long. Got a Van that had the license plate number wrong on the key chain provided than the real license plate number ( which made it harder to pay toll online as the license plate did not match). The brakes of the car were terrible, wipers totally gone bad, and the list goes on. Return experience was fine, unlikely to rent from thrifty ever again...

The pickup was an absolute disgrace. Nowhere near enough staff working, huge lines. When I picked up the car, it was covered in scratches / marks and the Thrifty employee I approached about the condition of the vehicle shrugged his shoulders and said "not my problem". Will never rent from Thrifty again.

I understand there are some busy times and some things are out of ones control but when we walked into the rental location for pick up the line was so long and for our entire wait (over an hour) there were at least a consistent 50+ customers on line and only 4 associates working the desk. I also understand they need breaks and shifts for lunch but if the location is going to be that busy then they need to schedule more staff. When we finally got to the associate - while very polite and friendly she didn’t explain the pricing breakdown very clearly so things had to be repeated and clarified several times and once things were completed she told us to go find a red car in the space number… we found the same make and model she told us but the color was different. At that point we weren’t going back in to wait another 45 minutes. Luckily there was another associate who happened to just be walking around near by and approached us and explained how to get the top of the convertible down (since we hadn’t used one before) however since no one walked out with us, if he hadn’t been there we would have had to figure it out for ourselves. Also our rental car we got the Apple car play wasn’t working or would work one minute and then not the next. We called the customer service number and they said they could nothing to help us. One other thing was nobody came out to check they vehicle for any damage, scrapes, scratches, dings, etc (which there were a few) before we drove off in the vehicle - I took photos just to mark that it wasn’t us that made those so we wouldn’t get charged.

The staff at Midway is great; friendly and efficient. This is remarkable because the office is completely understaffed in regards to volume. It took 2.5 hours to get my car from the time I waited for the bus at the terminal. That was rough, but the gentleman who helped me was lovely, despite dealing with annoyed customers. The garage staff were also lovely. Kudos to the hands on crew for having grace under pressure and for delivering good service when management doesn’t support them with sufficient staff.

Getting a car rental from this place was a nightmare. We made a reservation weeks in advance and also called in to specially reserve a car seat since we were traveling with our 2 year old. When we landed, we gave them a call ahead of time to let them know we were coming and was going to pick up at the time that we reserve for, and was promptly told that they were out of cars that day. We were stuck stranded near the airport with no car seat for our toddler and no convenient way to safely travel with all of our luggages. To make matters worst, we ended up going there when they opened the next morning but still ended up waiting 3.5 hours to get a car since they only had one employee working and the line wrapped around the building. We will definitely go with another more reliable car rental place than this one next time.

I felt VERY concerned for the Sunday morning person being the only one to check people in getting cars. He should have been paid double time as someone else called in not being able to go into work. He was FABULOUS and kind as can be with over 30 people in line waiting to get their rental car at 9 AM in the morning. 11799 They said we brought the car back with 11799 miles They lied. We took pics of picking up and dropping off mileage. we gave the car back at 11746. They added 53 miles ot our car rental agreement close out. Otherwise all was a good!

We did not get instructions on how to catch the shuttle to the rental office. We had a lot of difficulty figuring it out and had to wander around a bit. Turns out you have to take a public shuttle to an poorly marked parking area and then try to call for the Midway shuttle to pick you up, however they don't answer their phone and the recorded message says the office is not open and does not allow you to leave a message. Thankfully another person waiting got through and got the shuttle to come and pick everyone up. Our reserved van was "not cleaned" so they substituted a Tahoe at the same rate but unfortunately it was too tall for access to the parking lot at our hotel, so we had to park at an adjacent lot with no in-out privileges. The car was excellent and service was otherwise excellent, however we did not attempt to use their shuttle to return to the airport.

There was only one shuttle at the airport to take people to Budget when other rental companies had multiple shuttles. At least 4 AVIS shuttles went by, even FOX and Sixt had shuttles, but Budget's took forever. Then at check in, the agent couldn't find my reservation, so when I produced the email she looked up and said, "oh I found it". Just horrible customer service.

I liked how it has become very fast and easy to pick up the rental. Only problem is availability is too restrictive- we got lucky when our ride from the airport bailed last-minute and were able to secure a rental; however, we could not get a rental back to the airport at the end of the week so had to find another service instead. Granted, I should probably not be using a rental as a one-way transport, but it was super-nice to be able to do that.

Budget did not honor the contract i had booked through Kayak and Priceline and charged me about 20% more, saying that the initial contract had had a mistake. I am planning to contest that decision. Picking up the car was chaotic and took a lot of time. The van took a hell of a long time to pick me up from the airport and then the offices were packed, the employees stressed, and though they made me sign a rental contract, they did not give me a copy of the contract I had signed. This has never happened to me before with any rental car. It is now two days after i returned the car, and they still have not sent me the final billing.

The car absolutely stank of cigarettes. It was, of course, far too much trouble for us to return and exchange the vehicle as we simply couldn’t waste an entire day returning to LAX - especially as pick up involved a nightmare 90 minute line. I understand how hard it must be to monitor the selfish nightmare smokers in your vehicles but an idea: how about a dash board mounted device which changes color when in contact with cigarette stench resulting in forfeit of the 500 dollar deposit? This is the second time with budget that I’ve suffered the nauseating cigarette stench - which y’all artfully conceal at pick up with some nasty smelling chemical “air freshener” crap to get the car off the lot. So third strike and I’m done with y’all for what it’s worth. Also the vehicle had been poorly cleaned and even contained some of the personal property of the previous renter. I informed the lady upon return saying that this is how they could make the smoking sunofagun pay. She had no interest whatsoever and said that the said personal property will just go in the trash. The vehicle itself was great, new, and ran perfectly so no complaints there. If a living soul reads this and sends me a robot reply I will be most unhappy. Please, just don’t reply in that case ok?

First agent was a pleasure dealing with. But, that agent wrote down wrong space number. And unreadable lic. Plate number. Then although another employee tried to help us find our car we were pushed aside and told to wait. If they have caused the problem they ought to make fixing that error job one. This LA office has been a problem for years. Just dealing with the delays is enough to never rent at this franchise again. Once you finally get your car all is fine. Next time I’ll use different company

Nothing.First off the pick up/drop offs location is not even at the airport and I was given no heads up about this. In order to get there, I would have had to order 2-3 Uber’s to get my entire family and luggage there. And then try to find 3 more Uber’s at 3 am to get back, upon our return. When I called to find out the location, initially, there employee was extremely rude. I did not pick up my rental and I used a different rental company. I won’t be using this them or kayak again. Kayak should have disclosed this info ahead of time.

It took me 1.5 hours to get my car. There were 20 customers in line and only 3 agents on duty. Then one of the agents decided to take a lunch. I was literally shopping for another car while I was in line, as were others.Have more agents on duty when they know there are lots of customers scheduled to pick up.

The staff was friendly and useful.The car was dirty and smelled bad. We bought clorox wipes to clean some of the dried stains that we found; it helped with the smell. We also kept the windows open as much as possible to let the air circulate. After a couple days, the smell was contained.

The drop was really simple and quick.There should be a non-diesel option regardless of the car size. When I went to pick up the car, I was told that I would have to pay extra $25 to get a non-diesel car, which was not specified when I was making the reservation.

No license plateWe got pulled over for no rear license plate. Woman at pickup was rude. When we could not understand what she was telling us - she just kept repeating it with no additional explanation. They have you just go over by yourself and pick out a car when they are all parked in so tight there are few options. They are also mostly kias even though your reservations says Toyota or something similar for midsize car. Misleading and unhelpful.

So the Kayak app let me book a car, insure the car, get dropped off in a corner in LA at 11pm at night and the bus driver says “call the company and they’ll pick you up”. Except, I call the company and they’re CLOSED. Walking back (on the freeway) to the airport, get on another car company (yes I checked that they were open) and finally got a car at nearly midnight. Worst rental experience ever!

Rude customer service rep named Malik. Does not know the meaning of CUSTOMER service. My car wasn't available when I arrived and rep told me I had to just sit and wait, not knowing when the car would come in, even though they had other vehicles available. Also tried to get me to pay an additional charge for the vehicles they had available. We went back and forth until another customer service rep, I think named Emery, stepped in and provided true CUSTOMER service. Terrible experience though.

Pickup was horrible. We waited for an hour + and then waited some more. That was after an extensive ride(s) out from the airport. Would not recommend. Returning the car was easy as was the shuttle back to the airport but that didn't make up for how this started off our trip.

The pickup and drop off process is horrendous. From the airport you take a shuttle to a parking lot, there you wait for a tightly confined econoline van to sardine into. We waited 25 minutes for the bus. From the Ace Car Rental place, the wait was about 25 minutes. The driver said no one called him to come pick up customers. Wait what??!!! Then what were you doing? Faster processes from the initial pickup/processing to faster return dropoff back to the Airport is what will keep customers coming back consistently. It currently takes too much time. Time is money.

There was no direct shuttle from the airport. We had to take an extra bus to the offsite parking area then received a final ride to the rental lot. The staff were reasonably friendly, but the van we rented was completely dirty. The exterior needed a wash, and the interior had not been cleaned at all - there was chocolate on all of the seats and chips and other crumbs on the floor of the van. We didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes in line waiting for the clerk, so we cleaned the van and drove it. It did drive well, thankfully. We will not rent again from ACE.

Renting at Ace was hands-down my worst rental experience I’ve ever experienced across the globe. First, the building is described as being at LAX, but it was not. You have to take two shuttles in order to get to the facility. They did have a return shuttle to the airport after dropping the car off. My biggest issue was when my flight with United delayed and they charged me an additional day for late fee when my flight delayed several hours. Apparently, they have a 59 minute grace and any additional hour up to three hours is $30-$40 extra and an additional day is charged after three. They are NOT flexible with unforeseen circumstances and are very rude. To this day I haven’t received a call from the manager. I returned from there July 1st. Lastly, when I booked this rental my price was a little over $800, but when I pick up the car my rental price essentially double due to all the extra fees I was not expecting. If you could avoid renting from this agency, please do.

Fraudulent business. SCAMMERS! DO NOT USE. I paid for a minivan for 1 day online for my young family of 4. To start, they say they have a shuttle service at the airport THEY DONT! We had to take 2 different airport shuttles to the drop off spot in the middle of a janky street in LA outside of the airport area. We had to wait over 30 for Economy's shuttle to pick us up. The company does event go by Economy, they go by Allied. When we finally get to the office, which is in a ghetto alleyway of LA it took me 45min to get our vehicle and they made my husband and 2 small children wait in the hot sun outside and would not allow them in the building. When i checked in They charged me another $200 for an insurance they said i had to have but didn't actually need and then another charge, a $500 deposit they said they would return the next day if the vehicle was brought back on time within the contract terms. I was told I could return the vehicle by 8p the same day as pick up and a they're shuttle service would return us to the airport. When we returned the vehicle, an hour before the alloted time, the facility was closed. No shuttle to take us to the airport. The next day I was told i do not get my money back! Over $750 was charged to my account for a beat up car that had a full tank and we used it for a few hours. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

This company — either called economy or allied ( same company) was a bait and switch operation. Had to pay additional $18.95 per day for insurance which I already have under my current car insurance and can waive additional charges from other car rental companies I showed documentation of this, but she said she needed the actual “declarations page” as proof of coverage. This was not disclosed in advance, also charged an additional $400. Security deposit on top of this. I was at a crossroads (at lax airport) to find last minute rental car or accept their terms. Heard at 3 people walk out and decided not to rent from them after learning about this and decide to try to find last minute another company. At drop off heard 2 other people compain as well. Would not recommend renting from these companies.

The CDL was not disclosed in the front end. Only upon arriving at the location I was informed that CDL is a requirement, unless i produced my vehicle insurance (which I did not have on my person and could not locate on a Saturday). I have never purchased CDL and will not be using kayak for rental cars in the future due to this bait and switch.

The car was clean but stained and had lots of scratches through out the body of the car. The trunk of the car had structural damage that was visible. It would not close all the way. The car price seemed reasonable until I found out that the milage was limited at 150 miles per day. Anything over that is $0.59 per mile. This was not disclosed openly. The customer service representatives were not accommodating or welcoming. I arrived 30 minutes before the rental time, and they made me wait until the exact time. I still had to wait at the counter even though they had no customers at that time. There were no instructions on how to return the car. I returned at 5am, and there was nobody there to instruct me where to drop off the car but I found a piece of paper on the door that had instructions. There was no shuttle at that time and the area is not the safest. I had to pay for a ride from the rentacar to the airport. This plus the additional mileage charges add to the price of the car rental. It was not a good value for the car rented and the service provided. The car had over 60,000 miles and looked like it may break down, but fortunately it worked fine. I will try not to ever rent with this company again.

They forced me to pay extra for insurance and dismissed me when I called them to inform the battery was dead. They hung up on me after they told me to buy a battery. Never again!

The representatives were very nice. I received a prompt call from a very nice person after my complaint about my experience. I was refunded the extra $10.00 I had been charged to get me to the airport in time to catch my flight.Hidden charge - about $4.50 more than quoted by KAYAK. I had to pay $4+ for the inconvenience of waiting longer (they only run every 15 min) for a shuttle; than having to wait 15 mins for another pick up to take me to the car rental. The car was old and smelled. The carpeting was coming away from the floor.

AMPM was just bad newsThey mixed up my pick up time. I was scheduled to pick up my vehicle at 12 noon, they had me picking up at 2pm. She was adamant about this 2pm pick up time until I showed her my reservation on my phone. After this got worked out, she told me that they not only didn't have the vehicle I requested, they only had one vehicle on site- a gigantic minivan, which isn't ideal for city driving. When returning the vehicle they drop you off about a mile away from the shuttle because, in our driver's words "We don't pay to enter the parking lot" A mile walk carrying luggage at the end of the trip isn't how you want to end a trip.

Took me over 40 minutes to get a car. First car I got had broken trunk lock. Instead of replacing this car, stuff starts to guide me how should I close this trunk. Overall, if you want cheap car, this is the place to go. If you want normal service, I wouldn't recommend this place.

- everything was fast and to-the-point - i forgot my credit card and was able to rent with debit - i was able to provide proof of insurance for my car at home to avoid buying their insurance - price unbeatable- not a real con, but would be easier if you could take one shuttle to/from the office (but FYI you can get a drop-off at the terminal for a $10 fee)

Great priceI liked that the service was the cheapest I found for the weekend. I have rented out of LAX before and I have waited over 30 minutes to get the right shuttle to arrive. This shuttle went around pretty frequently, and you end up in a random lot but AMPM is there when you arrive, ready with your car. They take you back to the hotel where their office is and process your paper work. The process is pretty quick and the service is great.The cars could use a car wash, at least the one we got. It wasn't very dirty, and we did't mind it too much, its just when you rent a car you expect it to be clean. For the price and the service it's not too bad.

NU is not a good rental company. They don’t have any details on how to get to their rental location from the airport. We arrived at LAX at 7:30am and tried to call them, but they didn’t open till 8:00. They said send a text, but it was just an automated response with no help. Finally we were able to find out we had to take a shuttle for a hotel that had no NU labeling or anything to let us know it was the right shuttle. We are defiantly going with a bigger rental company next time to make it a smoother time.

The price for the rental was amazing but it also came with a price. There were no clear instructions about what shuttle to take to the NU car rental pickup. I placed multiple calls to the phone number provided and i could never get assistance feom the front desk. When you call the automated voice gives you a number to text 'the manager' for assistance. So I did, and got NO reply for over 20 minutes. I was fustrated and confused as to why i couldnt get a call straight through to someone!? This was our first time using the LAX terminal and had no clue as to where the NU shuttle would arrive. And i was unable to get help!! By this time it felt like NU was a scam, not being able to get assistance with any of the phone numbers i was try. We decided to just call an uber and travel over to their office. That uber cost me an extra 30 dollars! While in the uber I finally get a text telling me what door and terminal to wait at to get a shuttle... Are you kidding me.... I finally got a text after 42 minutes!!? I text them back telling them my fustration and asking why their reply took so long. All i got was a ' sorry'.. Hate to break it to you NU rentals but a sorry wont get me my 30 dollars from uber back. And i will definitely stay clear from NU in the future.. Really, no phone number would connect to the front desk and whats with this 'text a manager' crap?? A reply back in 5 minutes would of been perfectly fine, but almost 45 minutes of waiting with no support!?? Pure horrible customer service. The check in was smooth, the return was smooth. I do have one other thing though, the car needed air in the tires. After about 2 hrs into my drive i get a 'check tire pressure' icon on the dashboard. All four tires were under 30 psi... The hell??? Does NU not check their tires before renting them out?? All tires were at different ranges from 22-28, the max psi is 52! Thats WAY too low. So we had to dish out 1.75 of our own money for that. When i returned the car and let the NU employee about the car tires he just brushed it off. No apologie no reason to why i was given a car in such condition. He simply said ok and wrote something down on a clip board. Never again will i rent NU car rentals. Im sticking to Sixth.

I never pickup the car because my flight from LAS to LAX 1079 with JetBlue was delayed the airplane had security issues. So I called NU from LAS to inform them of the involuntary circumstances no one answered and kept having the answering machine then I tried Priceline they said they will get back to me in 7 days!!! I used to search your engine for everything I want but with such incident I would go directly to the main agent. I kindly ask you for complete refund of my money

We were disappointed that when we arrived, our booking was canceled due to a flight delay. They have a policy that if you aren’t there within 2 hours of your reservation time your booking is canceled, which is fair, but we just didn’t know. It would be great if they collected snd checked flight numbers prior to cancelations. They ran out of cars in our price range. However, the customer service was exceptional and we were upgraded to a different car and given discounts on the upgrade cost. Between the amazing customer service rep, the managers, and the guy inspecting our car prior to taking it - the staff was absolutely amazing. We were very pleased with the upgraded car and the care they took to support us when we were struggling to figure out what to do. Thank you for an excellent service and amazing car rental experience!

I asked what my options are because obviously we wanted to keep the rental again no help. I think the fact that they close at 5pm is crazy especially when things can happen with flights. I just learned to take my business somewhere else.

Gentleman who checked me in did awesome job communicating with me being Deaf and patient. For Kayak, is to have direct number to call in case something happens to make change of dates or time. This was challenging as the car rental wouldn’t help and couldn’t make change of date due. Make your number available to call for such situation.

Really hard to get to from LAX and when we finally did get there they were closed, the next day I called and they didn’t even have any cars. Their hours are 8am to 6pm so if you have a late or early flight then use a different agency.

Don’t bother unless you like to be frustrated & waste time. 2 shuttles from LAX, & the first shuttle drops you at a “depot” which is really a street corner without seats or covering from the hot sun. Then when you call for the second shuttle, no one answers. The second shuttle was a van without enough room for the hot & tired customers. The office is in a tacky industrial area. The office is dirty, dingy & way too crowded with no where to sit either inside or out during the excessively long wait for help. Fees are tacked on. I paid Kayak for added insurance coverage then was told I’d have to buy Green Motion/U-Save insurance, too, as they didn’t honor the insurance through the Kayak site OR add my own insurance. The office is ONLY open 8:00AM-6:00PM & no extended shuttle, so fend for yourself if you have early & evening flights. The clerk didn’t know what he was doing & another person had to come over to correct everything. Even though I picked up the car 2hours late & had written documentation the return time had been adjusted, it wasn’t. So 2 hours before the return time I started receiving calls as to why the car had not been returned & that my time could be extended for a fee. Never had such a difficult, time consuming, annoying experience renting a car, even in foreign countries! Oh, and 5 days later the $250. Deposit still hasn’t been returned! Worst car rental experience of my life! Avoid & go with a reputable company. Also, don NOT use Kayak to book. Go directly to the rental car company to avoid a bunch of undisclosed fees!

This company did not seem prepared the volume of business the pandemic has brought their way. It took a very long time for the clerks to manage the paperwork for each customer. It seems their compute system was very primitive: facts I had entered online had to be entered again by the clerk. There were a lot of papers to deal with and it took a long time to find a car and get it ready. Getting to the rental office was a nightmare. I'm sure this had as much to do with the airport as the rental company. In any case, getting from LAX to the rental should have been described online so we could have spent less time chasing our tails. The whole experience reminded me of why the top car rental agencies are on top.

We got to the office to drop off the van we rented at 7:35am and the office was closed. We had to wait for the manager to get there. Who arrived at 7:45am, and the everything worked out fine and seamless, but we got a little nervous because no one informed us the wouldn't be working.

Juan and George provided excellent customer service at pick-up and drop off. Thanks to both of them our experience with State Van Rental was great.We were unable to travel from Nevada to Arizona due to mile restrictions. Also, that we had to pay extra for a second driver.

the rate was not honored and wanted to triple the cost. the agent claimed a "glitch" in the system had given me that rate and adding 12 hours to it 9 am vs 9 am voided my ratei wish i could had added 12 hours to my reservation without triple the cost. i cancelled and went thru to costco still at a higher rate but lower that this agency

Advantage LAX from a management point of view was disastrous. Not only did they not have an SUV per our booking, it took over TWO HOURS to get from the kerbside outside the airport waiting for their shuttle bus, to completing the paperwork and being given the car. Would never use again.

Not the car I booked...Sat NAv was a waste of timeBrand new car Easy drop offWas a smaller model than booked - I booked a Jeep Cherokee or similar - got a Jeep Patriot which is considerably smaller. Added the GPS - waste of time! The signal constantly dropped out and then tried to re-route taking us off course. If we'd have followed the instructions we would never have got out of LA!

HorribleThe people at silver car were very friendly and nice and gave us a ride to another rental car service ( Hertz )I will never book with kayak again, there was no fine print stating that I had to be over the age of 22 so when we got to silver car with all of our luggge expecting to get a car we were turned down because of age requirements!!! There was also no way for me to get my 48$ back from what I put down on the rental because I booked through a 3rd party app. So yeah KAYAK y’all suck . Go to HERTZ

Hidden TermsThe car was new and clean.They rely on Carrentals.com which has a horrible customer service experience. I wanted to adjust my booking, but Carrentals.com insisted that U-SAVE policy would not allow it unless I booked another car with them. When I arrived to pick up my car, U-SAVE mandated that I purchase third party liability insurance from them as they don't accept Canadian or international insurance coverage. This consequently raised the cost of my rental by another $250. I will not use them again.

Fraud Alert!! This company is a scam.The numbers given on the reservation - one was the corporate HQ in Mississippi which didn't answer the phones and the local number was a disconnected Verizon wireless number. No shuttles despite advertisement, and when I took taxi to the address in the reservation there was no such business there. What the heck? This wasn't at any small airport, it was at LAX. Several hours later when I'm already in another company's rental car I got a call back from the HQ who said the reservation email must have had old phone number and address. As for the shuttle, they would have needed me to take a shuttle to a private parking garage telling them I'm using their lot and then crossing the street. That is shady as heck. Too bad for them I already listed this as a fraudulent/scam charge on my credit card. Lady at HQ said they would fight it, and I broke my cool and told them to suck an egg. Good luck getting your $32 from me.

2 types of insurance and the car still wasn't coveThe weather on the day of pick up was pretty good.The Alianz insurance I paid for during the online booking process only covered me for personal injury. When I arrived at U-save, I was forced to pay extra for the mandatory liability insurance required by the state of California. I had paid for two types of insurance and still had no cover on the actual car I was driving. I've rented cars through a number of companies in L.A and wasn't surprised to be screwed with the insurance. There's room in the market for a rental company with transperancy, maybe U-save could be the change.
