Unable to get ahold of alamo or priceline after flight was delayed. Ended up sleeping in the car rental lobby because we missed them by 15 minutes and went with another company that opened earlier the next morning.

There was an extremely subtle dent in the door that could have been there when i picked up the vehicle. You could only see it by looking at it from a slight angle, into light reflecting off of the vehicle surface. It was documented as new damage.

Very slow at pickup. Took forever to get to the counter. There were lots of people on line who didn't have luggage whom I took to be locals getting a car for the weekend. All the other rental agencies had minimal lines. I then waited a long time in the garage to get the car. At some point I asked one of the desk employees in the garage why I had to wait so long and he told me the car was being cleaned. I went back outside and no one seemed to be doing any cleaning and continued to wait. Finally, another desk employee happened to wander out and notice me. She asked me what car number I had been assigned and then proceeded to grab one off the lot and give it to me (with an apology). I'm not sure why they had several people behind the window in the garage, but no one outside making sure everyone was being taken care of. I had an important event to attend and missed most of it (also because of a delayed flight). Dropoff was quick and easy.

I have rented a car many times at the airport. The lady at the counter was very nice and gave us recommendations on places to eat, etc. A few things that were different this time. They automatically added $200 deposit charged to my credit card, even though I had a regular reservation that I made with the same CC. This has never happened the many times that I rented before, but honestly not a big deal. Also, the car had many things damaged and had a smoke smell. Before coming out of the parking lot, I went over all the dents and scratches and smoke smell in the car and she said she documented everything, but would not give anything back to me in writing. She said everything is done electronically now. Usually it is fine, but this car was pretty banged up and I was worrying the whole time I was driving it that they can could put the damage on me at the end, since I have nothing in writing to prove that it was present at the start. I did take pictures on my own, but again unnecessary stress. Previously they would make comments and write it on your contract paperwork. Also, when I returned the car, the lady said it is all checked in and I'm ready to leave and that they don't give a paper receipt and that I will get an e-mail shortly. I got on a plane and when I landed, I still did not have an e-mail. I had to call the counter multiple times and no one picked up. I called the main number and after a long wait, customer service said that they see that the car is returned and that he will send an e-mail receipt, but it can take a number of hours to receive. Although, everything seems to have worked out as of now, this rental had multiple parts that lead to unnecessary stress and multiple phone calls and follow ups. I would probably rent from a different company than Budget next time.

We waiting 1.5 hours to check in, we arrived 10 minutes before our 12:00 check-in and got into the car close to 2:00. Only 1 person working. Was very frustrating and a terrible look. Next time, I would rather pay an extra $20-$50 and go with Enterprise, or another rental company that provides better customer service.

I didn’t like anything. I showed up at 6 am when the internet said they opened. The worker arrived at 8 am. I had reserved a car online, yet was told they weren’t allowing same day, one way rentals, which was not communicated on the website. I neither had a good experience, nor left there with a car that was clearly on the lot. I could accept the non same day rental policy. It’s hard to wait in line for two hours because they didn’t open on time, to only not receive an automobile. I lost $22 to Kayak for the pleasure of having this horrendous experience.

2 hour wait in line, and then told no full-size car would be available for 30 minutes. Offered a luxury car for an additional charge of $40 per day. Complained that it should be same price because I had a confirmed reservation, but Thrifty would not budge. Took the upcharge (people behind me in 2-hour line) and left. Car was not quite big enough. Bad idea to prepay through Priceline…only Thrifty/Dollar had a line that day at MSY airport.

Not enough cars! I had to wait several hours to finally get one. Your counter clerks at MSY were very pleasant in spite of there being many very upset customers. You need to pay these people more. They should not have to be putting up with bad customer behavior simply because you don’t have an adequate inventory.

I was able to reserve a car online for pickup on the same day, but when I arrived at the airport rental counter, I was told that they don't except same-day rentals. I should not have been able to confirm a reservation if it was not going to be possible for me to actually get a car.

What did I like - NOTHING THIS is the most awful service ever- I reserved the car 2 MONTHS ago and when we arrived, they simply said - WE DONT have a car for you.... really? I would like to contact the corporate and find out how this can happen. All the counters at the car rental pickup at the New Orleans airport were full of people standing in line to claim their cars - ant HERZ people standing behind the counter simply said they dont have a car - this is unheard of... i would like to talk someone at the HERZ and Demand an explanation about this.!!!

The staff were great—friendly and helpful. Hertz no longer accepts calls at its locations, so if you need immediate help, you’re trapped in a hellish operator menu that solves nothing and charges you 5% of your rental fee to speak to a human. They’ll push the app on you but the app can’t resolve everything. Hertz’s attempt to automate everything in the name of cost cutting has put undue stress on their employees, who were all extremely patient and kind as we resolved the issues that came up with my rental. I hope they pay them well and reinstate actual phone lines to local offices. I will not rent with Hertz again.

The Hertz website and calling information was awful when I was trying to change my drop-off location. The one closest to my house wasn't initially listed. When I finally called in I was charged $24 to drop it off less than 15 miles from the original location. Then, I filled up the car and drove it 11 miles to drop-off. On a 1/3 of a gallon according to the car's 37 mpg rating and sensors. The gage showed closer to 7/8 so they charged me for 1.75 gallons at the $10 rate = $17.00, based on a few tics on the gage. That's what 5 gallons cost! It is BS, so scammy for Hertz to do this. Only positive was the folks at the drop off were otherwise friendly, and gave me a ride to the office 2 miles away.

Why tell a car rental company what time you were picking up the car if they till everyone who arrives to sit down and the cars will be ready in 40 minutes? Other than being less expensive, nothing redeeming about this experience. I’d rather pay a premium for Avis or Hertz.

Huge line when we arrived at MSY/New Orleans. In addition, there were many customers who had already been waited on but were waiting for cars. We ended up going to another company and probably had to pay a lot more, but at least a vehicle was available. They shouldn't book for more cars than they have.

Found old groceries in the van... which is not the vehicle we rented. Stood with my family for 45 minutes waiting for them to find something and they brought out a van and said this or wait. Not sure how it was cleaned when there was a bag of food under the seat. Oh well. Won’t do it again.

The staff at New Orleans was extremely helpful and made the process of picking up the vehicle very easy.The vehicle was a new large suv that did not have any of the current safety systems and it did not have the XM radio turned on? For that rental price I would have thought that they would have included those items? Maybe next time?

Pick up and drop off were easy.I got an economy car and it was definitely economy. There were stains on the fabric seats and I couldn't figure out how to hook up my phone to the bluetooth. It might have been an extra cost. But the car rental was inexpensive and it was easy-in and easy-out. This is probably more of a problem for the airport, but I had a friend drop me off and we drove into the parking garage. There is not good signage about visitor parking.

The car would not start the very last day. I called avis and was put on an endless hold. The car eventually started and I immediately returned the car. Opon returning, the associate said the computer was down and to just leave the keys with her. I wish the car was as nice as the associate. The car has 37k miles on it and should be taken out of service. This was the worst car I ever rented from Avis.

Drop off super easy. Very nice car.Vehicle had not been cleaned when I picked it up. Something sticky had been spilled, like a soda, and it was on the passenger door and on parts of the dash, such as the radio and air controls. It was also dirty on the outside.

the car they gave me would not start. had to cancel tripthe car I finally got was goodthe fact first car wouldn't start, it took six hours to get me into a different car, I had to cancel travel for that day (a day I specifically wanted to travel), they did not want to give me any credit for the fiasco. They finally offered to credit the car but the charge remains on my credit card. Very very poor service

Terrible slow at MSY pick upArrived at MSY around midnight on Easter Saturday night. I was eighth in line at the Avis counter. One indifferent clerk was working the line. Three people were processed in about 30 minutes. At that point I bailed and rented from Hertz instead. Cost me more than the deal I had at Avis, but I didn’t care. If Avis doesn’t care about processing customers promptly then they don’t get my business.

NothingThe line at the airport was 20 customers long. The other car rentals had no lines. We waited for a while but we were going to miss the event we were in town for so we had to go to another rental agency. There had been no movement in the Payless rental line.

Absolutely nothing!Everything! The customer service in person at the counter and trying to call in was terrible! They didn’t have the type of vehicle we reserved or anything similar and was assured we could swap it out at our destination city which was a lie since the only branch was in New Orleans, two hours away from where we were at. I would NEVER use this service again after being hung up on for two hours when trying to correct the issue.

Staff was friendly and helpfulSignage was unclear so we had a hard time finding where to find pickup counter. Car also smelled strongly of cigarette smoke when we picked up. We had to drive with windows down most of first day because of the smell, while the temperatures were in the 90s.

I was unable to rent the car, was able to use my debit card to reserve the car bit whwn I was DROPPED off there I was unable to get the car because they onky take credit cards, would have been nice to know.... had to pay for an uber twice and lost a good part of my day...

The renting agent was less than friendly upon arrival. We asked a few questions about possible tolls and other things we might want to know. After receiving a few negative responses we went about our day. Will likely rent with a different company next time but this was a cheap alternative.

Teka was very friendly and helpful. This car rental company is off-site from the rental center to provide lower rates, so the facilities are sparse. The car was great and clean and it was an excellent experience.We had difficulty reaching the main number but were finally picked-up at the bus stop at the car rental center. The vehicle was great except for the dirty inside of the windshield.

The car was great and clean, except for the inside of the windshield.The drop-off was on a Sunday, and handled by someone who was not an actual employee of the company. It was NOT a good experience!

Just a heads up. This rental company IS NOT LOCATED AT THE CAR RENTA CENTER. You have to take one shuttle from the airport to the car the car rental center and the call them for them to come pick you up there to take you to their place. I specifically chose companies at the terminal to avoid this, but still got this as a choice only to be surprised once I got to the rental center that it was not there

Simple I had a reservation but was told even with a reservation they have no cars to rent me. No one else had cars to rent at the airport. I was stuck at the airport. I Paid $56 dollars to get a Lyft ride to Enterprise Rental Car on the West bank. Never use them again.

Car was covered in rust. 80,000 miles. Didn’t feel safe driving in it. When I returned my car I overheard him telling someone else about a check engine light coming on and that’s OK. I will never ever rent a death trap from here again

We took the shuttle from the airport but there were no “Ace” signs at the car rental area. I had to ask someone working at a different rental agency how to find them. She called Ace and they picked us up to take us to their location. I would have appreciated more information about the pick up process.

I rented just before the advent of tropical storm Barry. Under the difficult circumstances, the staff at ACE was more than accommodating in negotiating the unknowns of the weather. Certainly, their care alleviated an additional worry in a trying time.

Never again; Rented my car to someone else. When I got to pickup, they were closed. Left several phone messages but no one returned my calls. Also there were no cars available at any of the other rental car companies. Had to Uber to Biloxi $170 later. The worst experience ever.

Awful experience. Car was in terrible shape, 78k miles on it, and drove poorly. Rental counter is not on the airport shuttle loop so you have to take another shuttle to get there. Do not use this company.

I will not use Kayak for rental cars ever again. My travel was delayed and my car was given away. I was fully charged. Economy rented my car to someone else and got paid twice. Lesson learned.

I couldn’t find the shuttle to their pickup counter. The car I was provided was really dented up a lot. It also had several maintenance messages that came up when started and not all features of the car worked (like cruise control did not work).

Everything was perfect until drop off time. Spoke with the rental office twice on the day of drop off about how much fuel to leave in the car. They did say it would be after hours when I return the cat and to take an Uber. That was fine but they where not only closed, the IHOP was closed, and the Days Inn was also closed, the entire building was closed for renovation and that was not communicated to myself nor the other driver who was also baffled and calling. We just decided to leave the keys in the car because we had flights to catch. There was no drop box for the keys nor instructions on the door. Not happy about the lack of communication.

I would like a refund. They never sent me a comfirmation email or adress so I was left in New Orleans without a way to find them. Had to get a seperate rental car.

The staff was very nice and professional. Getting to the location was a bit confusing as they were across the street from where all the other airport rentals were. The car was incredibly dirty and had cosmetic damage at pick-up (despite it being only 2 years old). Had issues with tire pressure on the second day of the rental and I had to refill one of the tires. The windshield wipers desperately needed replacing as well. Very good fuel economy though!

When I made my reservation I was guaranteed a Mini Cooper or Fiat 500, there was probably some fine print somewhere that said I was booking an economy rental, but it wasn’t obvious. They went above and beyond to pick me up from the airport, they called earlier in the day to reconfirm I would still be there and gave crystal clear instructions on how to get to the car rental station where they were waiting for me at 10 pm. To my surprise, there wasn’t a single Mini or Fiat on their lot and I was given a Nissan Versa. I feel like the ad was a bit deceptive however their customer service is top notch.

They were extremely helpful and overall it was a great experience. It is a little less convenient than using one of the larger rental car companies because you first have to take a shuttle from the airport and then the company will pick you up where the shuttle drops you and ferry you across the street to the Economy Rent-a-Car facility. It was a little bit of a hassle but well worth it for the price and the customer service was great - I missed the return hotel shuttle to the airport and they didn't make it my problem, they called the driver and had him drop me so I could take the rental car shuttle to the airport. It would have been nice to have received a bit more detail prior to arriving. They do send a text with instructions for how to get the shuttle and when to contact them to have the driver meet you at the shuttle drop off. However, I wasn't aware they would need my insurance cards for verification (understandable but I've gotten used to Hertz and Enterprise where you don't need those cards) so it was a little frantic at the counter as I tried to find the validation info they needed for my insurance. It would have been nice for that to be clearly stated in an email prior to getting the facility but that was the only thing I'd change.
