The car itself was fine, when we got in to get our car it was 1am. The customer service took an hour to just get our car with only 3 people in line. There were 3 to 4 employees and only one was at a desk taking people. It was super frustrating as no one seemed eager to move things along. It of course didn’t help that I had two crying/tired children waiting in the lobby the whole time.

I waited in line at JFK for over an hour from 10-11am on a Friday morning to pick up my pre booked vehicle. It was a shambles - so very slow to process each customer. Never had such a wait at Hertz? That said, staff were ok, car was clean enough (not showroom condition) and have not yet returned so can’t comment.

Over 10 minute wait at JFK. Other rental agencies had a minimal wait. Agents giving paper copies instead of digital contracts like major rental companies. Drive away was good. Return at ALB was confusing with GPS taking me to back of their lot. Had to return in the airport terminal vs a dedicated return line.

Was allowed to rent a car past the time that the rental car company was open. Flight coming in was delayed so I hopped on different flight to this location, planning on renting a car to drive back home. Ended up being stranded in JFK for a night as I was never able to rent a car and all other places were booked. Had I known renting a car here wasn't possible I probably wouldn't have made flight arrangements this way

The “midsize suv” was a tiny Corolla Cross which is a crossover economy platform not an SUV of any kind. And it was expensive and the pick up area at JFK is torn up badly!

There was a long wait to receive the car. The car arrived with a cut tire; luckily I noticed it before leaving, and they replaced it quickly. One of the windshield wipers was also faulty.

The Hertz rental office in JFK seems to be severly understaffed, I had a thursday night rental (not during any major holidays) and it took nearly three hours to get my car that was reserved and pre paid for. The employees were strugling to keep up with the demand, but to their credit, they remained composed and for the most part profesional despite being obviously exhausted. Hertz needs to staff that office properly.

Was traveling to NYC for Christmas and had to cancel because of the COVID spike that is going on. Even a family member has COVID. I could cancel the hotel reservation and flight without penalty. But having to pay $100 penalty for a rental car even when it was informed of the situation that is out of my control is inhumane. Not going to use this service ever again.

Worst vehicle rental experience I have encountered. Shuttle service was appalling. Numerous hidden costs and continual addition of charges. Absolutely will not ever rent from Fox in the future. Lesson learned.

I was flying to Newark. My flight said Newark. Kayak and Expedia via Kayak booked me a car in New York. Worse, I was not able to modify it. I believe this the be an issue with Expedia and Kayak, but still. Thrifty needs to do a better job monitoring the websites that allow booking Thrifty cars.

Reservation was confirmed. I took the Air Train to the car rental location. There was a hand written sign saying they were out of cars and no reservations were being honored. They should not accept reservations if they have no cars. It was like a scene from Seinfeld! They take the reservation but they don’t HOLD the reservation.

They did not give me my rental vehicle. They said because I didn’t make the reservation 24hrs in advance, that it wasn’t valid. Left me, my wife, and 1 year old child stranded in New York. Wouldn’t rent us a car seat so we could take a taxi or Lyft. Completely cold. Worst experience.
