A few days later I was charged with a supplemental insurance, which I supposedly agreed to at the counter. I specifically confirmed that everything was pre-paid and there were no further charges.

It was easy and economical.The full coverage insurance was a little hard to understand because it was by a separate company and paid separately online. But the person at the desk walked me through it. I’d use them again :-)

I was in San Antonio to clean up my father-in-law's house so I asked and pre-paid for a pickup truck. Upoon arrival they had no pickup trucks and I ended up getting a mini van needless to say the mini van didn't work as good as a pick up and ended up renting a uhaul. All in all very disappointing when you prepay for something you expect to get what you prepaid for. Though the staff at the facility were very friendly and helpful this is still UNACCEPTABLE and would like someone to reach out to me.

You need to inform online customers, of the airport rules when trying to pick up a vehicle locally. I rented a vehicle and pay for it online went to pick up the vehicle only to find that because I did not have a flight back to the airport I could not rent the vehicle. Why wouldn’t kayak Priceline whoever the hell is selling us tell the people that are renting it and giving you their money upfront that there a certain rules at the airport in terms of rentals.

Sixt was so awful I had to cancel my reservation even though it meant forfeiting $100. A couple weeks prior to the rental I tried to contact them to modify the reservation. I was dropped from my calls repeatedly. I never was able to talk to an actual person. They downgraded the car without notifying me. I completely lost confidence that they could meet our needs. I went with another rental car company and it was a completely different experience. Don’t rent from Sixt!

We had to cancel this reservation due to financial situations and they kept $100 of the amount of the rental. We cancelled more than a week before our scheduled pick up. We will NOT be using them again. I’d rather stick with a non start up company that offers free cancellation. What a rip off. Not to mention you cannot get a hold of anyone. I had to send an email to cancel. Which begs the question….what is the $100 for? I had no customer service and had to search to communicate with this company. RIP OFF!!

Do not recommend. Booked a rental car from Monday to Saturday with 2 baby car seats. Our flight was delayed and we arrived to the Sixt counter at 6:10. The place closed at 6 (literally every other rental company was open). I contact Sixt on Tuesday, only to be informed that I will be obligated to pay the remaining days + the car seats. Do yourselves a favor and use a more reputable company that won't charge you 7 days for an unused rental for being 10 mins late due to a flight delay.

we had an issue with the vehicle needing to be serviced, which was resolved quickly. we even got an upgrade for our troubles. One customer service rep (on the phone) didn't sound like he liked his job and wasn't much help when our rental was broken into. we had to stay the night because no-one was around to help with exchanging the vehicle after the break in. we extended the rental no problem but hen we got stuck with a vehicle similar to what we originally rented by some standard that wasn't even close to our original rental. I would have even paid for an upgrade, if we would have been given that option, because the upgrade was just that nice.

The staff was extremely helpful and nice, and the pickup and drop off were easy.The only thing that could have been better was that they had the car we wanted. It being a holiday weekend we weren’t able to get it, however they did try to put us in a comparable car.

The young woman at the check in counter was fabulous! Then I went upstairs. They were super condescending. When you get upstairs, you have to stand outside. I asked why I couldn't just go to the car as I had check in downstairs and the car space number was on my paperwork. That's just for gold card. Why? He didn't do anything but point me to my car. I had waited downstairs. I realize that Gold members can go straight to the car, but I had check in downstairs and had an assigned car. I waited for them to finish to point to the car that I could see. That's stupid and demeaning. What's the point? He and the other guy were super unfriendly and unhelpful. Nothing like what I would expect from the South. In Sacramento, there aren't clear instructions about where to take the car. The person who checks your car, should get off the phone and not make clients wait outside looking around for someone to help when there are no instructions anywhere. Worse rental car experience ever. Expected more from a superior type rental car agency. Going back to Avis or Enterprise. More for less.

Although I’m a Hertz Gold Member I saved several hundred dollars going through a third party to book, I don’t appreciate that when I pick up the vehicle the agent basically belittles my booking preference and insinuates that the insurance I purchased through your company will probably not cover any damages our issues should they arise. I understand stand that he is most likely commissioned to sell insurance and additional features but he needs to up his game. The reservation should clearly indicate that this purchase was made prior and requires no additional coverage in the same manner that the vehicle type and prices are clearly evident.

Staff friendly and helpful. Check in and out process very efficient. I got the least expensive car I could to get me from point A to point B so could have been more comfortable and quieter but it worked just fine. I will definitely use Hertz again! Thanks!

The staff were friendly and efficient.There was a line and it took about an hour to get my car. I was also charged an extra fee for 2 extra hours that I did not ask for but they couldn't help me take that off. I've been trying to get a hold of someone at Kayak but have so far been unsuccessful.

The only thing that could have been better is more staff at the counter to handle the amount of people picking up at the same time I was. They had five staff working but around 15-20 people in line. The staff member serving me was friendly, polite and did everything she could to accommodate me.

Good value for the new rental however the pick-up experience was a nightmare at the San Antonio airport. They combined Budget, Avis, and Payless into one booth with a line stretching around the building. It was a 1-2 hour wait in line just to pick up a rental, and we already had a confirmed reservation.

Service at rental counter was terribly slow, only 2 people were available to a long queue of 10 people waiting in line. BTW it was the only counter with a huge line and we waited for over 25 mns for a very nice representative to very efficiently help us. Either everybody chose Budget or you need to have more people to provide a better service. Next time , we will NOT choose you because of this. I ´d rather pay a little more but have an expedited arrival thank you

The effort to pick up was brutal. I was in line for 45 minutes...the line was very long and only 2 people were working to process the line...once I finally got the paperwork done...the experience improved. The car was easy to find and the return was really easy...but that line filled with exhausted, people on a timed mission was tough. The other rental companies had smaller lines and more workers.

No car ir backup plan for actually pickup my car, pickup hour and closing hour of rental office was the same in SAT airport, what a disaster Budget rental car agency. Call numerous times that dame night and said everything would be fine to pickup car next day that reservation was on hold for 24hrs, turned out to be a lie. Enterprise turned out helping me with outstanding service and a good car!

The company gave a hard up sell for everything and the guy at the desk was extremely pushy and slow. he also gave us the wrong directions to the car. The $200 deposit was a surprise too. Overall, it was just a bad experience and I wouldn’t recommend advantage to anyone.

Picked up vehicle in El Paso airport. Attendant tried to get me to add numerous add ons. Did not do that as that was a method to renegotiate contract. Tried to convince me the 3rd party insurance was insufficient. Wouldn’t let me use different card for payment when I returned the vehicle.6 months prior, I had no issues of making final payment with difficulty credit card. This time you would think I committed a felony in there eyed when desiring an alternative form of payment for services.

It was really quick to get in and out with the rental. The Avis car line was dozens of people long. What could have been better is if our car actually locked. We could lock it, but when you pulled the side door handles, the alarm went off (sometimes) and the doors completed opened. This is unacceptable!!! We couldn't leave anything valuable in the car in San Antonio and had to walk around holding our belongings. In addition, I specifically stated I didn't need rental liability insurance because I have it through my credit card and it was charged anyway. I have now called 3 TIMES and people keeping punting to someone else, saying "they will get back to you". Still no call back. Now I see why the line at Fox was so short. :(

Guy at the counter was unprofessional and rude. I very politely had questions about my pricing being different and vehicle not being the one I had chose. He showed clear annoyance and impatience with my questions. Then he messed up my charges by accidental double charging me for gas and couldn’t fix the issue so told me to go find a manager and they will fix it. Finally found the manger office and they fixed it and gave me the correct vehicle and the inside reeked of weed. So has to get a different type vehicle that I did not intend on having.

Staff seemed lacking in customer service. Kept trying to upsell on everything and did not seem genuine. All of the cars seemed to smell like either wet dog, cigarette smoke, or a combination of both. We ended up with a vehicle that smelled like cigarettes which made us smell like smoke our entire trip. Overall, was not enjoyable.

Check-in counter tried selling me an upgrade from a full size car to a SUV. It would have tacked on about $70 more to my total on a 6 night rental. I declined the upgrade at the counter. When I went to pick up my car (still assuming it would be a full-size) I was informed that they did not have any full-size and that if it was okay with me, that they would upgrade me to a SUV at not extra charge. I obviously had no choice, if I wanted to leave at that time, so I took the SUV. Now, the counter must have had this information when checking me in. So, it left me thinking, why did they offer to upsell me at the counter, knowing that they didn't have what I ordered?! Would they have even told me that they were out of full-size cars if I had paid the $70 upgrade fee? Dishonest, to say the least. Beware of these practices! I will not be booking with them and when I book further, with others, I will be asking these questions!

I really liked the vehicle and drive. Only let down I stopped at a restaurant in McAllen to eat and a tiny pebble hit the window and cracked the glass for which we had 2 insurances thankfully. I know this is outside the scope of this review however it was a negative conclusion to a wonderful journey.

There wasn’t a person at the Payless pick up window. There wasn’t a sign saying go to Avis. I stood there wondering if someone was going to come to the counter, if I needed to call someone or what. Eventually someone at a different counter told me to go to Avis. Everything was excellent after that. The customer service was amazing to pick up and drop off process was very easy and simple.

Older car. Back-up camera didn’t work. Couldn’t call airport desk and kept getting a call center who couldn’t answer my question about early drop and said I couldn’t drop early but when I got to airport at 5am I was able to park it and a person was there in the garage who accepted it. Military cut my orders short and I wasn’t able to receive a pro-rated rental.

Staff was friendly when we got to them, but note that in San Antonio, Payless doesn't have their own staff. They use AVIS staff.The wait to get the vehicle was ridiculous, it was unclear at first that we had to go to the Avis counter because there was NO ONE at the Payless counter.

We got there before they closed at midnight. Was told no car available for a one way to Abilene. That the cars needed to stay in town due to demand. I completed my order via the website- which allows a one way rental but had to wait until they opened the next morning. 7 hours later waiting at the airport was not fun.

Pick up took over an hour. At times there was only one worker with over 15 people in line. Sometimes it took 20 minutes for one customer. Avis needs to separate those who have reservations from those who do not. Once I got to the car, the brake light wouldn’t turn off. Again this took half an hour as there was only one person working. I should have received compensation for not getting my vehicle when reserved. Instead I was charged a full day extra when I was one and a half hours late. I have NEVER had such horrible service from a rental company and will never use AVIS again.

The line was very long. It was a very long wait. The lady at the service desk seemed oblivious to the long line of people waiting. She acted as if she had all the time in the world and wanted to waste time with small talk that had little to do with accomplishing her tasks. After standing there for what seemed like forever, there about three vehicles to choose from. I wound up leaving the vehicle and using another car rental company, which took about ten minutes until I was driving off the lot. If you don’t have enough vehicles, just say be honest about it so that the customers can go elsewhere before wasting their valuable time.

They do not take debit cards as advertised. Unfortunately, I hit a deer rendering my vehicle undrivable. We had to put the rental under my husband’s name since I only have a virtual credit card and their system is too old to utilize this newer technology. This resulted in an additional $13 fee per day! The whole situation was stressful enough with the circumstances of my rental and then to be charged additional money on top…Unacceptable! I won’t be using Thrifty again!

The employees were incredibly friendly.You had two agents working the counter. It took over an hour and fifteen minutes to check out my car. That’s excessive. Everyone in line ahead of me had a reservation so it’s not like you weren’t expecting the influx of renters at that time.

It was easy to schedule the reservation online.We weren’t told ahead of time that $200 more would be needed to secure the card. The agent also said the insurance we purchased online would not protect the car. The payment couldn’t be split between cards and only a credit card matching the driver’s license could be used. We weren’t able to get the car after all because we didn’t have the extra $200. So we lost our money and had no vehicle. Terrible and embarrassing experience.

Prompt service, helpful staff and really efficient and convenient on everything.The quality of the vehicle could have been better. The oil light was on when we recieved the car, and needed changed. The brakes weren't 100% and were grinding a bit toward the end of our trip.

There is not enough staff for check-in. It took about an hour to get the car. Also, the lady who selected the car for me was not friendly. The drop-off was very fast.Have check-in staff to expedite the process.

quick pickupno one told me where to drop off the car correctly. The signs sucked and I had to call back 3 times, put on hold numerous times. Also it took me 2 days to get a receipt. I and no proof I dropped off the car. I handed they guy the keys and was told they would email a receipt. I called up 3 times and finally was told it was taking awhile since I dropped it off a different place I picked it up that they had to have the place I picked up close the account so I can get the bill. I ended up calling the 800 number again, the drop off place and finally the pick up place to get my bill. Total of 5 phone calls just to get my receipt.
