Desk Clerk couldn't add my Hertz Gold Number to reservation. Gas tank wasn't full and since I purchased the refill option that was a punishment for me. Car had 40k+ miles and it showed. Front wiper sprayer broken.

Some issues with not being able to call in beforehand to confirm details of the reservation. Also with not being able to check in and go directly to my car when I arrived, like it said I would. Also with both the phone system and website saying the location I was picking up from was closed when my flight touched down, which was luckily not true (flight arrived after midnight). Also the car’s language had been set to something not English. Also the electric car’s battery was down to 10%, so I had to find a manager and be given another one. Got home around 3 am, instead of 1:30. But in the end, it was overall a good experience. The car I eventually got was good, the manger lady who helped me sort things out once I brought it to her attention was good, and drop off was easy.

The wait at the airport could have been better. The desk attendants were waiting for clean cars to be available to the customers, even those who had prior reservations for the time of pick up. We waited for about 45 even though we had a reservation to pick up a car at a specific time.

Pickup was great. The attendant in the garage gave me a ticket that said the car was full. After I drove away from the airport is when I noticed it wasn’t actually full. When I returned the vehicle I let the check on guy know and he was really rude about it.

We needed to change the name on the rental because I had booked it and planned to go but ended up not being able to. My husband went instead and the rental company insisted there was absolutely no way they could change the name. I attempted to reach help via Expedia and Kayak but was only able to reach a Expedia representative via chat. No one would help us and we had to forfeit the reservation and our money. Poor customer service.

I loved the car loved the easy pick up and return of the rental car. The airport made it very self explanatory to get the car back with white letters on the road to direct you back to the rental car return. Made me smile. I had to extend my rental due to not finishing the work I came down for and the company made it very easy to extend.

Budget not present during check-in so had to check in with AVIS. Waited 3 hours to get a car. Car was not cleaned and smelled like cigarettes. Got a Corolla and charged the same price as an SUV.

Pick up process in Austin was poor. Agent just said follow me. He walked around vehicle and then said i could go. He did not do a vehicle check with me meaning confirming there are no damages. Didnt tell me where keys were and did not ask if i had questions regarding vehicle functions. I had to go get him and ask where keys were. At that point the agent made me feel rushed and as if i was an inconvienence not a customer. I had to fingure out how to use lights, cruise control ect. I had never driven that car before so perhaps the agents should be mindful of that.

I made a reservation for Mitsubishi Mirage, but they made me take Chevy Spark. The Mirage has standard seating for 5 passengers; the Spark can only carry 4. The Mirage Hatchback has 3.2 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Spark. I am not going to use Enterprise car rental next time.

Pros:

We originally booked a rental with Hertz, and had a nightmare. The vehicle broke down and it took 4 hours for Hertz to come pick up the vehicle and we were told there were no more available. We got online and booked with Alamo, which was more expensive but the transaction was a breeze, and pickup and delivery was fast and simple. The car was extra clean and ran like a dream.

Cons:

I wish we hadn't had to pay twice the rate of the other rental companies.

Long wait at pick up. They didn’t have the compact SUV and instead suggested I take a pickup truck. I was worried about the size and they assured me it was “small or midsize.” It was giant. I could barely get out of the airport parking lot and it was difficult to park throughout my trip. The back window wouldn’t close.

Cons:

I feel there is a scam going on with their gas policy. I declined their auto fill option which they marketed heavily to me. I filled up the tank a few minutes before dropping off the car, and on my car rental receipt they charged me $12.99 for 1.3 gallons of gas. They said it was full to 14 gallons at the time of rental and that I returned it with 12.7 gallons. I know that is not true, but of course I didn't save my gas receipt. I didn't have high hopes for getting my money back since I didn't save my receipt, but to my surprise when I called the representative offered to remove it immediately. He seemed all to familiar with my type of call. If I had to guess, I'd say this is a common practice for Payless and if you don't want to get cheated out of $12.99 you have to call and complain.

Very nice drop off staff. Check-in guy wanted me take economy car since it was intermediate sold out; he did not offer me a discount for smaller car. I asked for intermediate or larger; he gave me a larger car. He was very polite though.

They tricked at the counter, the attendant never told me I was going to be charged for an upgrade. When I received my final bill by email, I realized they charged me $30 for an "upgrade" that was never delivered or discussed at the counter.

AS BAD AS IT COULD BE! The car was in terrible condition, ketchup on the door panel, plus had a disgusting juice spill all around the cupholders. Employees maybe we're waiting for a customer to clean up the car. The car had mirror lever is broken, head console buttons (SOS) where jammed/broken.

Everyone was nice and the process was easy

Cons:

I made the reservation on line (the mother) using my credit card. The confirmation said the driver would have to present license and credit card at pick up (which was going to be my adult son). When we picked the car up we were not allowed to do this without paying extra to have him be the driver. We were told because the reservation was in my name I had to be the first driver. If the on-line reservation would have stated this we would have had him make the reservation. Seems like you could have been more accommodating at the pick up time. Not sure why it makes a difference whose name is on the reservation.

First I wanted a car with a navigation system, after 45 minutes at pickup we figured out that the car did not have navigation, then too late an behind schedule had to leave. This created a lot of issues on my trip having to navigate by cell phone.....major problem. Second spent 3 hours on the phone with multiple calls trying to determine if I could drop the car at Hobby Houston at 4am....called and called and called again. Will not rent from Thrifty in the future.

Be prepared to wait in line at the counter for at least an hour before getting your rental. Counter guy says we have a choice & we go out to get our car and we don’t have any selection. The staff outside did not provide us undivided attention & lacked customer service. The exit gate guy took our key fob and did not return it upon us leaving the gate. Luckily we figured out the fob was missing before leaving the premises & turned around. At return it seemed to be such a hassle to close out my rental due to agent nowhere to be found. I wanted to confirm my charges due to the horrible service at pick up and I had to take a picture on my phone from the guy’s tablet as a form of receipt. This location lacked customer service and coming from a formal rental car employee, I know what is expected from these people and traveling all day the last thing you want is a bad rental car experience.

Cons:

The car smelled like vomit then broke down halfway through the rental period. To remediate this, Thrifty asked me accompany a tow truck driver to a location 40 minutes away. Instead, I chose to end my rental. Since then I haven’t been able to get any information from Thrifty regarding a refund. Very frustrating to deal with their roadside assistance, customer service, and the local franchise.

cost transperancy.. got ripped off.. becoz I was charged .40$ per mile on 300 mile trip. No indication of per mile at the time of rental. Giving out cheaper rental to beat search engine, but charging per mile. Felt really awful.
