Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: Spare tire equipment was incomplete at pickup, which caused a delay during drop-off. Overall experience was okay!
Pros: new suzuki jiminy $40 a day whats not to like?
Misleading advertisement missing information about additional expences
Pros: Nothing , complete lie from both kayak and thrifty car rental
Cons: The car that was booked for us turned out a two door suv with no trunk and barely 4 seats ( the last two foldable) we were five and the booking was for SUV 5 people 5 pieces of luggage . Not sure who is lying kayak or thrifty !! There were also a mandatory license plate fee , temporary drivers license fee , and mandatory insurance 4$/day that we’re not noted in the booking arrangement . The “upgraded” car for higher rate of course was ridiculously small and in a rough shape . They tried to make me pay for stains that was like that when we got the car. That is my second horrible experience with thrifty car rental and definitely the very last one. However I believe kayak has some fault here too for miscommunication and false advertisement so I will refrain using this site for future as well.
Pros: Size was as advertised
Cons: Windshield on inside was filthy and dangerous
Car rented was not same category as car booked
Cons: I booked through your platform a SUV 4 door, 5 pax, 4 bags. I got the smallest existing 4WD (Suzuki Jimny) 3 pax , 2 bags. I had booked this one a bit more expensive than others offering for the size . very dissapointing . It does not seem to be Thrifty's fault, but Kayak's.
small, warn and prefect
Pros: 3dr Rav4,Car was rugged and prefect for the narrow, pot hole filled roads of the island. The rental office is in a small building just south of the terminal, don't expect much. Except expect nice people that will get you going and loaded up for your island adventure.
Thrifty was great but Kayak advert was wrong
Pros: People at the local Thrifty office were very friendly
Cons: Rental as advertised on Kayak was wrong. Made a reservation for a 5 person/4 bag SUV (Jeep Wrangler or Similar) but once we got to the local rental office, they gave us a 4 person/2 bag SUV. Thrifty stated this is what Kayak reserved even though the reservation I placed stated I reserved a larger 5 person vehicle. Overall the rental car was useless for the trip as we had five people and the vehicle could only fit four. Once I got back did some digging between Kayak/Thrifty and found Kayak is advertising the vehicle size incorrectly.
