Since the trade off is that often you can't recline the seat. One draw back for the other. I shouldn't have to pay unless i get both. Then it's a real upgrade."

I travel around the world for work and each year I fly to more than 12 international locations but never had a horrible experience like this. My carry-on bag is 21” carry-on bag that I traveled in more than 20 countries for the past 3 years but American Airlines staff members at the check insisted that my carry-on bag does not fit the FAA regulations and they threatened me multiple times when I protested their attitudes. I am an avid traveler and I know my rights as a traveler but the American Airlines staff members were extremely rude and insisted that I have to check-in my carry-on bag. The real issue was that regardless of the size of the carry-on bags, they were forcing almost all passengers to heck-in their carry-on bags a clear indication of money-making scheme. When I protested their attitude, they threatened me saying that I pose a security risk and that they would not check me in but I stabbed my grounded insinuated that my bag fits the FAA regulations. I booked this flight from Bristish Airways and this was a code shared flight, I called British Airways in December 22nd and confirmed the measurements of my carry-on bag but when I told American Airlines about the Bristish Airways, they told me “they don’t care, this American Airlines not British Airways”. It was humiliating, it was disrespectful, and it was unacceptable!!!! At the end, I removed one sweater from carry-on and the issue was resolved but after this experience, I will never never fly with American Airlines and never recommend anyone to use American Arilines especially their Barcelona flights and connections."

AA did not provide connecting info until I found an unoccupied employee at the terminal and customer service lines were about 20 people in 2 locations I went to. The connecting info should be in the itinerary they said at customer service...nope, it was not there either!"

Cons: "We were flying to London from Portland, ME so we first flew to Philadelphia then to London. Our first flight was delayed so we would have missed our connection so AA removed us from that flight and tried to get us on a British Airways flight from Boston the next day. Then said that they couldn't issue us tickets. They said we had to contact the company that issued the tickets. We did and they connected us to American Airlines on the phone while standing in front of the AA kiosk. We were on the phone for over an hour by that time our first flight was moved up and only running 15 minutes late we tried to get back on our original flight but the tickets had been sold. After about 90 minutes the AA person said we had tickets for the BA flight the next day. I called BA before taking a bus to Boston and we ended up having to pay more taxes to secure the tickets. We then paid for a hotel as well. The next morning when we got to the ticket office the person said we only had one ticket issued. On the way back my husbands TV screen did not work we asked 2 different people multiple times and no one offered any help or assistance. They said that they tried restarting it. One person said they could send him a movie but never did. The final connecting flight did not have a working bathroom and we were not informed of that until after we were boarded."

Cons: "We were boarded on a plane that was missing a part and sat for an hour and a half. Then we were taken off that plane and put on another with no money back or any sort of sorry. Had to miss work that night so it cost me money out of pocket."

Breakfast so bad even the smell of it polluted the cabin for the remainder of the flight. Just a cold ham or turkey and cheese sandwich would have been preferable. Attention from flight attendants was haphazard at best. Chose this flight because of good flight times but in future will avoid United if at all possible."

Cons: "Twelve hours of horrible delays, missed connections, and running through airports due to poor aircraft maintenance and mechanical problems. Will never fly United again if I have a choice."
Cons: "Some moron decided that passengers shouldn't be allowed to bring drinks on the plane. This means that after passing security and customs, after buying an overpriced cup of latte, you are told to spill it or else. And that's in a country that lives on security. Unacceptable. Unjustified and unheard of."

Cons: "Boarding chaos, zones are there for a reason and the gate agent shouldn't be a pushover. Had the huge elbow hog sitting next to me and the temperature on board was between 95-105. It was crazy warm for a winter flight when passengers are already wearing cold adapted clothing."

Cons: "United seemed so incredibly disorganized. Couldn't get a plane, couldn't get a crew, etc. Yes there was fog, but we landed just fine into Chicago. Our checked bag made it to Bozeman, but they had to reroute us with Delta to Helena. Once with Delta, everything was smooth sailing!"

Cons: "Typical complaint, I'm sure. The seats are way too small and uncomfortable. Movie/tv selection was poor. Delta had a much better selection. Even us airways/American has a better selection. Since the seats are so small and uncomfortable, it would be nice to have a decent movie to watch and try to zone out for the long flight. I doubt I'll fly United overseas again. I guess you get what you pay for...no frills. Crew was very nice."
