It took us nearly an hour to pick up our car. The office was severely over staffed with just one person there to handle all pickups, clean the car and deal with drop offs. She was stressed out and unfriendly. The person ahead of us took 45 minutes to resolve some issue with her car, so my family had to wait in the hot sun outside the tiny office. When we finally got inside, the person behind the desk had our reservation written down, and knew we were coming (we had reserved ahead and called the day before to confirm), yet she had to slowly re-enter all our information. Then she told us she had no clean cars available, so we had to wait while she ran out to clean out the car we had reserved, which had trash in the front seat, unvacuumed etc. While this was happening two more people came and had to wait, so I’m guessing this one poor agent had to deal with angry visitors all day waiting for her to manage. No wonder she was stressed and hostile!! Avis please support your teams with better systems and staffing. We will find another option for future transportation.Reviewed 2022 Aug 04

You need more staff at that location. When I picked up the car there were 3 people in front of me and only one person in the office to process the paperwork, explain the options and deliver the cars. Your employee was very efficient and professional but he was doing the job of at least 3 people.Reviewed 2022 Aug 04

Everything went smoothly. They gave me some leeway on drop off time, which was HIGHLY appreciated. Just 45 minutes, but made a huge difference to me. I was also given a free upgrade. Great experience.Reviewed 2022 Aug 04

Picking up the car was given false information above fee to have spouse drive the car, there is none, cost of vignette to drive Swiss freeways. Car maintenance light was also on, he said ignore it, oil change was way overdue, and light kept coming on saying it needed oil though the level was fine. Car needed other maintenance issues as well. Finally. be aware there is no gas stations near where you need to return the car at GVA..Reviewed 2022 Aug 04

We had bopoked a minimbus and it wasnt available for us when we arrived. We ended up with a six and a seven seater that cost us an additional £1500. This is not acceptable and will ensure that we dont book with you again Stephen 07479499345Reviewed 2022 Aug 03

When I got to the car rental they did not let me take the car They did not allow Visa debit cards. They only accept credit cards. When I made the reservation I gave my debit card. Nobody mentioned this at the time of the booking. I finally has to find another solution with Budget who accepted my debit card I want to make sure I was not charged for the car rental , can I please get an update on my email : Richard@verita.roReviewed 2022 Aug 03

Rental was as advertised, however the rental agreement was never emailed until I called the next day for it. Went online to see if there would be any refund if car returned 1 day earlier, amount of refund was only $8.16. Asked at rental return, was told there is no refunds. Will pass on Avis in the future for their lack assistance/customer service.Reviewed 2022 Aug 03

Got to the address where I was supposed to pick the car up. It was the correct address of the booking, but they said I would have to go to another place entirely as the booking was held at a different unit. Got to the other unit and the staff weren't overly helpful or friendly. Using their mobile phones behind the counter while I was trying to collect my booking. I did get given an upgrade as they didn't have available the car that I had booked, which was good. However my card was also charged a sum of $250 which stayed on my account for a while before disappearing, which worried me that they then had charged me for the upgrade. I had already paid in full in advance. Then on return there was a change to our flights. It meant we would need to leave the car back a little earlier (not later). Still at the reasonable time of 9.30-9.40 am indtead of 12 noon. For doing this and taking the car a shorter time I was charged $154 fine. A number that feels completely picked out of the sky, and just preying on people. Considering how unreliable airlines have been following the pandemic with the ability to stick to airline schedules, I find this fine particularly disgusting. All it serves to do is give the company MORE time to have the car ready for the next person, as usually there is a problem that they don't have the car/car type you ordered. It wasn't my first disappointing car hire experience, and I'm sure it won't be my last. Overall, the best thing about it was that the cost still was at what I'd consider a good level (for the initial booking, I in no way am referring to the extortionate fine). Would not use Avis again on principle, even if other companies would do the same thing. I just don't think they deserve anymore of my money.Reviewed 2022 Aug 02
