I was supposed to get a Citroen Berlingo or similar vehicle per my reservation but the only vehicle they had available was a large cargo van so I had to get a car with another company.

The enterprise did not have the car I reserved available so I wasn’t able to rent a car after traveling to Caen by train that morning. I had to completely change my trip as I no longer had a car to drive. The employee at the dealership was not helpful or remorseful at all. Terrible experience.Literally everything. They could have not lied and accepted my reservation. The deal offered was too good so they gave my car away to someone who paid more.

Not the vehicle I had reservedOffice staff was ok, dealt with the situation politely and promptly issued me a refund.I had reserved a Citroen Berlina, which can be used as a car or small utility vehicle that has windows all around and can seat up to five people. I arrived to the Enterprise rental place and they did not have such vehicle, so they wanted to give me a large, windowless van, econoline style. I refused since it’s was not what I had reserved. They did not have other vehicles or cars available so I cancelled the rental and went next door to Avis.

Both ladies in the check in and out where very nice and accommodating.When we got the car the reverse didn't seem quite right and the day we were returning the vehicle the reverse quit working entirely. So we had to put it in neutral and push it, to back it up. Thank God it was the last day of the rental and we weren't miles away from the rental drop off location, however, it was very challenging trying to get it there and parallel parked.

Enterprise met expectations with the type of car (automatic) and the car was in a good shape, plus people were very helpfulAs this was a European rental, the hours of operations were not as good as US offices with typically a 1-2 hour break during lunch. Plus there was only one person at the counter and I was unable to return the car since the counter person was helping others and took off for her lunch break. In addition, parking was not available. All of which made it difficult to return the car. I had to wait an hour and a half for a new person to show up after the lunch break.
