Only 2 employees for Dollar/Thrifty could not keep up with a long line of customers. Waited for over an hour, then the type of car we had paid for was not available and there were only pickup trucks left. The vehicle met my needs. But pick up and drop-off could have gone better. I was once a frequent Dollar renter. I was a member of Dollar's frequent renters club. And, I've never encountered such rude counter clerks. Acted as if I was interrupting something that they were doing that was MUCH more important. The camera for videoing the vehicle wasn't working so checkout took twice as long as it should have. Then, to top it off, I didn't notice until I got the vehicle home, It was getting a warning message that the vehicle was due for a oil change. Took it back but they were closed. Called and was told that I could either exchange it at the nearest location - San Diego Airport (30 miles away) or have the oil changed when I reached my destination. Opted to have the oil changed. Cost me a half day of my vacation. When I reached a location where I could have the oil change done, I called Dollar to have them give me a location to have it done. Then, the stupidity truly began. I was in a hotel but she insisted that I give her a street address and Zip code. Gave here an intersection, but nnnnnoooo, not good enough. Had to have street address and Zip Code. Finally provided it and was given a location to have it done. 40 Miles from the address that I gave her. This was all after being on hold for over 20 minutes. Truly the worse rental I've ever had.
