I had filled in my flight number when booking on Expedia via Kayak. My flight was delayed for two hours, I was exhausted from the delay. At 10pm I arrived Europcar desk, and they told me my car was cancelled because I did not show up within 20minutes of the rental time, that they did not see any information about my flight because I did not book directly from Europcar but from Expedia, which did not communicate about my flight. The lady (who’s very friendly) quoted me a tripled price I would have to pay to get a car from them, I walked to the next counter and rented a car from another company. I spent, in general, two times more than what I would have spent in terms of money. And I spent also an extra 1.5 hours just queuing & figuring all these out at the airport being tired from the travel at late night and eventually arrived my destination way past midnight.Reviewed 2023 Nov 10

Cons:At the check-in I was informed that as the rental was done via a USA based agency and that I was using an EU based credit card and drivers licence , that I was Absolutely OBLIGED to take their full insurance... otherwise the rental would not be honored. This despite I already have a good policy with both my own car and via my gold credit card. The insurance was more than the rental. I feel lied to by Kayak , Europcar, and whatever middle-man you sub-contracted via.Reviewed 2018 Jul 22

Pros:The car we ended up getting was fine.Cons:We paid for a mustang convertible or similar but when we got there they considered a fiat 500 comparable. Then there only Other option was a VW bug convertible, in our minds going on a costal vacation and paying for an upgrade neither of those cars compared. I have had better experiencesPros:Friendliness of staff.Cons:There are two terminals at BCN and I had reserved at #1, but picked up at #2. They told me they didn't have any small cars like I wanted. I could have gone back to terminal #1 and gotten the original car, buty ended up with a much larger and more expensive car. They should coordinate between the two terminals. They didn't inspect the exterior of the car when I picked up, but did when i returned it. This could have been a problem though it wasn't.Reviewed 2016 Oct 21

They tell you the car don't have scratch and when you go to check the car have some scratches also they tell you where the car is park and you don't see the car is park in different place. Hired a 4x4, got a 2wd. Absolutely shocked.Pros:I specifically hired a 4x4 as I was heading to the mountains to ski. I received a jeep Suv that appears to be a 4x4, but was in fact only 2wd. It was also on cheap aftermarket tyres. The vehicle was utterly incapable and could not even make it up an icy road to the accommodation, and later got stuck in a hotel car park. The pick up was delayed by an hour while i waited around too. I am awaiting a compete refund for this booking.Cons:Being given a 2wd when I specifically ordered a 4x4Reviewed 2016 Jan 22
