I booked a car via KAYAK one way from Phoenix to Tucson. In the booking it was stated that car is by agency choice. When I cam to pick-up, I was told that this is "manager special" and it is electric car with less than 100miles range, clearly not match to my booking. As a result I was charged extra $20 for gasoline car. I do not understand why I was offered the option that is clearly not suitable for my request and thus I was charged extra.Reviewed 2024 Sept 14

I chose the “Special” which is the selection of the rental company. They selected an EV which would not be feasible because I was driving a route without charging stations. They did not want to allow me another option without an additional cost per day. Fortunately, one of the managers was very kind and allowed me to get a vehicle that was good on gas at no extra charge. If I had not waited and asked someone else, I would have been put in a 17 mpg vehicle at $10 more per day. Beware of the “special”.Reviewed 2024 Sept 14

The car was in good shape with minor issues. Like the clutch has big wear, and tyres were unevenly inflated. Services were poor, having the car reserved by 1200pm(noon) I have received it only 50’ after that time, while I was waiting in their lobby, because the car was at car wash. Poor scheduling from them. After dropping the car, did not receive the invoice, even after 24hrs.Reviewed 2024 Sept 14

Their team were understaffed, under supplied and crabby at pickup. There was a noticeable deficit of “normal” cars, and they were often trying to convince people who had booked economy to take a mini van. On return I needed to adjust by 30 minutes to accommodate flex in a travel schedule, and their phone staff were dismissive and rude. They charged me a silly fee, despite the fact that when I arrived, the location was CLOSED, so it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. I will NOT be using Hertz again.Reviewed 2024 Sept 13

Branch Manager, Marcos Alarcon, is a conman (hence the last name). I arrived to pick up my reserved vehicle, and was denied for various reasons that were not disclosed in writing prior to arrival. His tone in delivery only allows my mind to be creative on what the underlying issue could be.Reviewed 2024 Sept 12

Hertz didn’t have a minivan available that I had reserved for all my travelers. But agent upgraded me to a super large SUV for the price of what the minivan would have been. That vehicle was great. Enough space for my traveling companions and very comfortable.Reviewed 2024 Sept 12
