We were a family of 5 on vacation in Puerto Rico. To fit everyone comfortably (plus 5 carry on sized bags) I rented a full size sedan. Enterprise had set aside for me a compact SUV, which made our trips very uncomfortable. No other larger vehicle was available. Why make reservations if they don't respect it? I am going back to Hertz, where I am on the President's Circle and get good service.

The price was double what was quoted on kayak website. The name of the company is not ACE it’s Charlie Car Rental. Terrible customer service, the car had sand all inside of it. I had purchased insurance through kayak they made me buy an additional insurance coverage. Just all around terrible experience. I would’ve absolutely picked another company if I knew this would’ve been the outcome. You should remove them from your website.

I would recommend fans outside in the waiting area for customers. I waited with my husband approximately 1 1/2 hour waiting for my car. We had to ask someone to assist us from easeway because the representative from Dollar was no where to be found. When he did find him, he was just sitting at the front with no care in the world. Never approached us not even once to collected our information to collect our car. Merging the Parking lots with other companies what a hot mess. It lack customer service!!! The car drop was good. The year and model of the car was good even for 4 people and luggage.

Cons:

The lady at the desk when I got there tried to haggle the price with me stating “additional domestic fee” even though I had the paper to prove the price with fee. She later dropped the price some but not all the way to what I had been told when booking. She seemed very upset I didn’t allow her to run over me with fees and add ins.

The staff was very friendly. I rented a Jeep Wrangler and received a Honda CRV. I would not have mentioned it, but it was specific that it was a Wrangler to enjoy the environment on this vacation. Our flight was late, so they cancelled the Jeep and gave it to someone else after two hours. Nowhere does it say after two hours your car is cancelled ( I would’ve called if I knew this information). They did not call to confirm.

Very long line, no pricing transparency, LDW is 3x what Budget advertises on website, add’l $250 deposit which is not mentioned in website is quietly charged and when asked what it was for was told, “that’s how it is here”. License plate and car color on my contract not same as car I was told to get into, informed discrepancy and was told to take the car anyway. Car was missing actual parts and made funny sounds, more like a car share service than a car rental service.

We didn’t even get a chance to rent a car. The line was fifty people long and did not move the hour and a half we stood in line. There was only one poor guy working and he spent the whole time with just one customer. There was no communication as to what was the cause of the delay. We ended canceling the reservation and just taking Uber around. The whole experience was vey disappointing as we didn’t even get a chance to receive the service we booked.

Payless always comes through, the pickup and dropoff process is fast and easy never any issue.. The payless cars are very updated and reliable, the price is always affordable and the deposit is always given back as soon as you drop it off, no extra charges or fees.. It took for ever to get a car, not complaining about that as I arrived early and the accommodate me. The car has so many noises. I tried talking to someone and was places on hold to then be hang up on. On top of that, the return was TERRIBLE. I stopped to put gas nearby First asked the gas clerk to charge me $25. That was not enough so went inside the gas station, again and paid $5 cash. The pump stopped (been full) with $1..71. Upon the return of the vehicle, the unprofessional clerk at Banco Popular rental car tells me I going to be charged $6+ because the tank was not full.. WTF

We had to cancel our trip. We could not cancel successfully because the webpage did not support canceling through the app for Puerto Rico. I ended up trying to call customer service for Sixt I, and it did not take me to a USA customer service line. It took me 21 in Germany, and it charged us for international calls. iMessage them multiple times, and they did not respond to partially cancel the reservation until I said in the email that I would get lawyers involved. They were truly awful, and I will never rent with them again.

Our flight was delayed. We called to let them know 4 hours prior to our pick-up time. They told us they would only hold our reservation for 1hr (our flight was delayed 2 hours), and after that they'd give it to the 1st walk-in and we'd have to get a car in a first come first serve basis. If we had failed to show up on time for our appointment, I'd completely understand if they gave it away. But we called to let them know we'd been delayed and that we were still planning on renting the car for our 2 week visit!

usave is next to the dennys. tricky to get into the area from surrounding roads, pay close attention (we went in the one-way street wrong way on return but this doesnt seem to be a big deal in PR). can get busy in office, often only one staff around. airport shuttle is convenient. car was basic but clean and worked well enough for our week trip (had a maintenance alert on it for oil but the oil had just been changed but alert not cleared according to staff - seemed ok for trip).

Oh my, this place is a mess... it's now called allied. I rented here before with the same experience. This time I had to cancel because they were saying my online rate wouldn't allow me to use my private vehicle full coverage.... so rented online then they wanted an additional 174$... went to NU down the street got a nicer car for same original online price. Also 2 different customers were accused of damaging their car while we were standing in line, both had taken pics and proved otherwise. It is slow, rude, disorganized, poorly ran, etc.

They added on numerous charges so that the promised charge which was $57 on Kayak came out to $140 in reality and that was without any insurance coverage. The charges were absurd like $20 processing fee. They did not deliver the car that we asked for instead it was much higher fuel usage. The car itself had 3 roaches inside . One in the glove compartment one in a plastic bag we found under the passenger seat and another in the trunk. We will not be using this service ever again

Good staff, easy pick up and drop off. The van was not good. Dirt every where, we left a glass with a little juice and in a couple of hours appears with 2 cockroaches. I had to drive below 50mph, the wheels weren’t balance so the van moved constantly. They told me they give me a 2024 Kia, but when I got in inmedietly realice it was a lie because the van had 45000 miles. Something impossible in 2 months.

We waited for 40 minutes for a shuttle to pick us up from the airport, but it never arrived. We ended up taking a shuttle from Dollar rental and walking from there. The car was clean, functioned well, but had no wiper fluid.

Shuttle drivers were lovely. Car didn’t break down. But it took forever (over an hour) to pick up our car despite almost no line and counter staff were surly. Had to wait half an hour for a shuttle even after calling. There was a $100 surcharge for toll reader. Windshield was dangerously dirty and car had no washer fluid.

Waited 2 hours and 45 minutes to get a vehicle because only one person was working. He had to drive the cars in and out of the lot and took 20-30 minutes per family to finalize the reservations. There was no communication to anyone waiting, No apologies for the inconvenience, and no sense of urgency for those customers like myself who have been there since 230am. I have never experienced this in my life and hope the company does a better job staffing their overnight team.

The car was fine, but the process of getting the car and returning it took way too long. The people at Routes were fine but their process seemed disorganized and it took several hours to get the car. I even had to wait just to get confirmation that I’d returned the car. Next time I’ll just rent from a more expensive place for a streamlined process.

We requested a large SUV - like an expedition. Instead we got a palisade. We had 8 adults and luggage for a week, so it was extremely cramped and uncomfortable anywhere we went. The Hertz team initially told us that is would be 35 minutes while they cleaned the vehicle for us. But they just immediately gave us the palisade. We were happy to wait for the correct size vehicle, but they would not give it to us. Extremely disappointed in Hertz this trip. We would have even settled for two vehicles instead, but they would not accommodate. I’ll rent somewhere else next time.

Getting the car was very fast and easy! The staff was friendly and very helpful. I was disappointed to learn about the drop off process after closing (only 6pm) when I picked up the car. having to essentially pay for parking at the airport because there is no designated drop off was not factored into my budget for the rental, especially since I was given no advanced notice of this. It seemed like a really backwards procedure for 2024. but everything else was very smooth!

The lines outside the Pick up window was about 85 people deep and there were only 2 Customer Service agents. Each agent took about 20-25 mins per customer. At that rate, my number would have come the next day. Also, your employees were very rude and unhelpful despite my status. After waiting for 1 hour, we left in frustration and hailed an Uber to our destination. Shameful. I regret ever signing up with you guys. Worst experience. The people in this location do not really seem to care about the customer or their work. Zero motivation, Zero interest. They're doing their jobs only 'coz of a paycheck. These lazy and toxic employees will sink your company because they are the ones controlling your customer service experience. There is a reason Puerto Rico is in such a deep decline.

They gave me a hard time for not wanting their supplemental insurance. I wanted to use the coverage that my credit card offers and they made a big stink about it. They required that I have the credit card company issue a letter stating my coverage. I was not expecting this and it took an extra 30-45 minutes to get the car. They also gave me a car that had a flat tire. The lady said that it wouldn't give us any problems. After parking the car overnight, we came back to a completely flat tire and had to put the spare on and take it to a tire shop to fix it. I felt like they gave us this car because we did not purchase their insurance.

Pros:

Enrique was super helpful and efficient whIle renting the car. Our reservation was ready and was exactly what we needed. He gave us helpful tips on where to eat around town and made everything so easy after a long trip into Puerto Rico.

Cons:

The only downfall is that there was only 1 shuttle to and from the airport.
