Cons: "This is my fourth time booking Emirates for my route through kayak. The route is longer but I choose it for on-board Internet for work emails. Generally, they have on-board WiFi Internet, however for my return route of 21 hours both flights had no wifi which was disappointing. This is unprofessional because if you are planning on having WiFi to respond to work emails and it is not available once you are already in the air there is nothing you could do but get stuck. Never does this happen with Lufthansa, Turkish, Etihad. Disappointing."

The TV is on the back of the seat in front of you and is a touch screen. You have to touch pretty hard. So, every time the person behind me was scrolling, they had to hit my seat. I couldn't sleep the entire 16 hours more than 30 minutes. I asked for water to take some medicine and was told it was 30 minutes til food service and to wait. It was over 2 hours before they started food service."

I am quite tall and having the person in front of me recline is uncomfortable at all times, but while eating, there just isn't very much elbow room. Also the temperature in the cabin is really too cold. The entertainment system uses a two-prong plug for the headset, which requires you to bring an adapter if you want to use your own noise-blocking headset or headphones."

My first flight, that I booked through Emirates, was Fly Dubai and was over four hours and they did not offer any food or drinks, not even water. My departing flights to India both offered food and drinks and there was more food in the meals. This inconsistency was very disturbing. Also the video touch screens did not work properly on any of the flight which was ver frustrating. We had several small children and parents let them wander. This was very hard to tolerate and I think the flight attendants should have asked the parents to manage their kids better."

Somehow we wound up with seats right next to the bathroom door, which would have been a pretty uncomfortable situation for a variety of reasons, but the flight wasn't full, and she helped us find a suitable place to sit. Also, my wife and I usually take our tea with honey vs. milk and sugar. Even though honey is usually one of the options for tea, she found a way to accommodate our request. The lunch meals were the best I can remember in a long time on an airline flight. They might have been the best I've ever had. The chicken curry was authentic, flavorful and spicy. Frankly my outbound flight had problems. My luggage got damaged. The transfer experience in Manchester left a LOT to be desired. I wasn't planning to use Virgin Atlantic again, but this flight crew (Daniella especially) redeemed Virgin Atlantic. They were attentive, pleasant, diligent."

Multiple levels of passport control and baggage checkout are chaotic, but that's for most all flights coming into USA? VIrgin/Delta handled it well enough. By the time we got through passport control in Boston ur bags were waiting and we had no problems at all."

Cons: "It wasn't clear that we would need to pay to check our luggage, especially since every international flight I have ever been on allows you a checked bag at no cost. When we got to the airport it cost us $130 each to check our bag which we were told it would have been around $50 if we had done it online ahead of time (if we knew). $130 per bag is excessive for checked luggage and we were extremely frustrated and disappointed. I like to fly Virgin when I can due to comfort but that experience left much to be desired."

Seats were not so close together in coach that your knees were against your chin if the guy in front of you put his seat back. The planes I was on To/from LAX-BNE felt very spacious because of the interior height. 2 free checked bags."

I ended up re-bought the ticket from United airline as my husband has United card (chase) and we ended up paying over 1900 for the ticket that should have been about $911. The priceline number is not helping. I have trip insurance but no. nothing worked. I will never fly Virgin Atlantic again."

Pros: "Amazing experience! Virgin Atlantic is different from other airlines from the start. Firstly my plane had a name, not just a number- Jersey Girl - which is a great film, by the way. Next, boarding was efficient and done by loading on the passengers at the back first. Next, all the staff, both on and off the plane, we're amazing. Helpful, friendly and professional. The food was fine. Let's face it, there's not a lot anyone can do with food with the constraints of being at altitude. I love the provision of sleep aids and was able to get more sleep on this flight than with any other airline. The entertainment system is brilliant. Great choices, including Indie films and foreign films- what a treat!! The intro tutorial is genius. I watched the whole thing, which is rare for me. I fly from SLC twice a year across the Atlantic to visit relatives back home. This route through Orlando was a bit circuitous, but I left my booking until late this year. So glad I did. I will always go with Virgin in the future even if it does mean a longer internal flight and a slightly higher cost. Thank you !!"

Although staff called passengers according to "special assistance and upper class" one queue was letting everyone through regards of where in the plane they were sat! When this was pointed out to what appeared to be the person in charge, she more or less shrugged her shoulders and turned her back. In fact she didn't even acknowledge him verbally. This resulted in people unable to be seated quickly as it would make sense to load the rear of the plane first surely?? On the actual flight one cabin crew taught my eye (as you can understand a long haul flight is very boring!!) and I noted that not one time did she say "please or thank you" Surely that's just basic curtesy!! In my opinion, Virgin Atlantic is a lot of hype. Not as good as they think they are."

Once we are on airplane, they are still shuffling seats around, so ppl cannot move forward. Just standing there for 10mins waiting for things to settle. Flight attendants did not give us a headphone. (I have a headphone for iPhone X so I could not connect it to their entertaiment system.)"

Not only did my other half get our bags for free due to his status with Delta but the amenities they offer and the comfort of the economy seats compared to other airlines is a major difference. As a chronic pain patient, if I can find a Delta flight for a little more, I will be booking with them for sure! Highly recommend them!"

Then yoy get to the gate, and they repeatedly asked for volunteers to check their bags for free. I think this is a very unfair policy and try to explain it to the curbside attendant. I literally cannot carry more than five pounds in my left hand until I get bone replacement surgery. I'm also having knee surgery soon and this small additional weight would be caused me excruciating pain ! They didn't care and still charged me $150 for a bag thats no bigger than 12 inches and weighs less than ten pounds. Thats the way you treat your first class passengers? One other quick note: the sausage and egg sandwich? that was served for breakfast was absolutely horrible! Thumbs down !"

Nobody even came to tell them that the gate has been changed. It was because of my father's alertness they didn't miss the connecting flight and when my father asked help to members on airport none of them helped my parents and other 4 co passengers which also were on wheel chairs. It was so scary experience for them that they asked me not to book any more flights with Jet Airways. I won't recommend Jet Airways to any of my friends for their parents to travel to USA. I strongly recommend you guys to take a strict action against this. This is so unacceptable."

We weren't told this until we were at the airport and checked in there that we might not be able to get our pre-booked in advance flight because of over-booking from KLM. We then had to wait and see if there were seats available when boarding. Luckily, there were, but we were not sat together. Not the greatest start to our first holiday together as a couple. We were told that if there weren't seats available, they'd pay for us to get to another airport to fly out, which would have meant a huge delay on the only time off we'd get together this year and have to rearrange our pre-booked and pre-paid living arrangements for the week. All because there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the need to check in online before hand. You'd think if someone checked in at the airport, that would be more of a guarantee that they'd be flying with you that day, but apparently not. Definitely not impressed or happy with this part of the KLM experience. This is the only company that we've had this problem with, they should make it clearer that it is essential to check in online."

After a harrowing cab ride to the airport in which our driver continuously ignored my request to follow the GPS insisting that he knew faster shortcuts, we arrived 40 minutes later than intended. Additionally he dropped us off at the wrong terminal such that we finally arrived at the KLM gate an hour later than we had planned. This was especially frustrating as we are traveling with two small children and made every effort to be punctual and leave early to be sure we got there with time to spare. Not the case today. All of that I could deal with, but when we arrived at the KLM counter, and I apologized to the attendant staff member that we were late and explained that our cab driver got lost, she responded by chastising us first in Spanish and then in broken English. She made sure to make it clear to us that it was our fault and we should not blame the Argentinian cabdriver. The cabdriver was not actually Argentinian, but that is totally besides the point. I was totally taken aback to be treated so rudely as a greeting at the airline counter. My wife share the same sentiment. Nothing like this has ever happened to us before. Thank God, every single airport personnel and of course KLM staff member on board was incredibly kind and accommodating of our children subsequent to this. It saved what otherwise could've been a terrible experience."

Yesterday (3rd January 2016) at London airport again there was no mention of wheel chair and vegetarian food. Lady at the counter managed to give us wheel chairs BUT separate seats. We pleaded but no result. TRY AT THE GATE, TELL THE CREW WHETHER THEY CAN HELP but there was no help. we even tried to upgrade by paying extras but they said because we did not buy the ticket from BA they could not do it. BA staff told us to contact you to upgrade. Nobody helped us to give us seats together. On arrival at the Orlando airport at least we got wheel chairs. Also at tea time we were given egg sandwich we could not eat. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. This is the first time we were treated like this. How can BA separate us when we booked the tickets together Hope you can answer us what happened. We have booked tickets through you many times over the years.
