When we got to the Budget desk to get the vehicle we had reserved, there was a long line of others also waiting to get their vehicles. We were informed that they did not have the vehicles there, but had to wait for vehicles to be returned and cleaned. All of this happened at 11pm! After 2 hours of waiting to get to the desk, we were given a vehicle and told it would be in a specific spot. When we got into the lot, there was no car in the spot. We asked the desk down there and they were more helpful, but said they were not sure why they told us there was a vehicle. They were able to bring a vehicle straight from the cleaners after trying to give us an expired car seat. The car was not fully cleaned and the overhead light was hanging from the ceiling along with other side panels. We will NEVER rent from Budget again.Reviewed 2026 Apr 02

I liked that i could pick up from pdx. The issues were that the way to pick up from pdx was not clear and was very confusing. No clearly marked entry until you park in the parking structure and then ask someone where to go. Also we were not told why we were charged so much in the end and there was no receipt explaining the extra charges.Reviewed 2026 Apr 02

First of all, my dates were changed. When I went to the Kayak website to rent a car, the dates were different and I didn’t notice. When my husband picked up the car, he didn’t receive the one he reserved and ended up paying $300 more due to the date error. I will never use Kayak again. It was my first time using it, but having the dates changed, paying significantly more, and receiving a different car was not the experience we expected.Reviewed 2026 Apr 02

There wait to pickup the car on a Thursday afternoon in Maui was lengthy. There were only 3 agents working and a line of 20 plus guests. It took well over an hour and we had paid for and reserved the car weeks earlier. That’s very poor customer service. The price I paid was the only thing that saved it for me-it was more than 1/2 off thru Kayak then directly thru Budget, even with Costco or AAA discounts.Reviewed 2026 Apr 02

Upon picking vehicle up, there was a terrible smell that we brought to their attention but when someone came out to smell for themselves they said they couldn't smell it. We drove the vehicle home and put baking soda on the carpet mats overnight. The next morning we vacuumed it out and the vehicle still smelled. We then discovered the back hatch door did not lift up but a third of the way and stopped. I called Budget and the lady told us the can exchange the vehicle out. So we packed up everything for the trip we had planned to change it over to the other vehicle. Once we arrived, we got keys for the next vehicle. My husband opened the hatch to pack it and it was filthy. It was never cleaned from previous renters. So I went in to tell them and a gentleman came out to take it in garage to vacuum it out. We told him about the hatch on the 1st vehicle and he knew. So why don't they tell you that when you're renting it??? Or.....fix it!! He did apologize. The lady at the counter was not very friendly like...said hi upon arrival but when things started going wrong, you felt like she was being bothered to help you. Not very apologetic or caring toward the situation. Better customer service would have been nice. Apparently the 2nd vehicle was picked up for us thru another Budget and they told them it was cleaned. Not sure who to blame in the situation but it put us back in leaving for our trip as we were to leave early morning. It turned out 3 hours later. When we returned the vehicle we were given a $50 credit, which was nice but we'll never rent from them again!!Reviewed 2026 Apr 01

Reservation was not honored. Your partner company Qeeq charged my card and didn’t provide any service. Budget claimed the reserves was not in their system. I had to pay them directly for the rental. Qeeq has yet to refund me. Based on my experience I would not recommend using your site.Reviewed 2026 Apr 01
