Staff was friendly and helpful. No hassle. However, the car smelled like smoke when I first got into it. I had to call to make sure I wouldn't get charged a cleaning/smoking fee upon return. Also, the day I was driving back to the airport to return the rental, I stopped at a gas station to fill up the gas tank. I was unable to do so because the small external panel that covers the gas cap wouldn't open. I tried everything I could to open it, but no luck. So unfortunately I had to return the car with no full tank of gas. I called customer service again and they said they would make note of it. Here's to hoping I'm not charged the outrageous re-fueling fee.Reviewed 2026 Apr 10

The pick up location closes at 4pm during the week and NOON on the weekends. This is not posted on any information given by Kayak, priceline or any confirmation email. There is no after hours number. So we were stranded with a toddler in the heat with no way to get the car we booked and paid for. We specifically booked a gas cars, only to be told they don’t have any available at pick up. It was a negative experience. The company charged more money even with a prepaid reservation. They are understaffed. No one was available during drop off to provide assistance. Would not recommend them for car rentals.Reviewed 2026 Apr 08

Started off bad and throughout the week it didn't get better. We asked for a SUV and they were trying to put us in a minivan. Then the person found us a SUV but it was not clean. The inside had garbage in it and dirty marks on the door panels and in most of the cubbies/cup holders. Now let's talk about the cruise control turning off on us all week. I had to drive long distances and it would have been nice to have cruise control for those drives. I probably would not use Budget again.Reviewed 2026 Apr 07

It is a gimmick when you rent a car from Budget, through a 3rd party (Kayak) and you purchase insurance but are then told by Budget that it really doesn't exist through a 3rd party and would need to pay Budget upfront for any damage, then issuing the claim to the insurance you did purchase, for reimbursement. If you purchase insurance you should have non-complicated insurance for your rental. I then had to purchase insurance with Budget again in order to not have difficulties should a problem arise. Also, NOTHING IN THE INFORMATION informed that my passport was needed for the rental. The information specifically said, Driver's License & the Credit Card used to rent the car. I was again told by the Budget agent, that is a 3rd party issue about the information given. Wait times at the counter were too long, as well.Reviewed 2026 Apr 07
