Top Tips for Renting a Convertible Car in Buffalo

  • Driving Buffalo convertible car rentals makes a wonderful way to experience this city in upstate New York, whether the flowers are blossoming in spring, the sun is shining in summer, or the leaves are turning brilliant colors in autumn. If you're in town to visit historical sites or natural wonders, you can enjoy the drive as part of the adventure. If you are visiting family or friends, you can treat everyone to a fun, exciting mode of transportation. Buffalo convertible car rentals will add yet another aspect of delight to your trip to upstate New York.
  • Situated about 10 miles from downtown Buffalo, the Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) provides a wonderfully efficient and easy place to reserve and pick up Buffalo convertible car rentals. The car rental counters are easily accessible at Buffalo Niagara, located in the arrivals area near the baggage claim. Some agencies on site that include Buffalo convertible car rentals in their fleet are Alamo, Budget, Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, Dollar, Easirent, National, and Sunnycars.
  • When you are driving your Buffalo convertible car rental, you will notice that some of the streets are rough, with quite a bit of damage. This is a result of harsh winter weather every year. So, drive carefully over the roughest patches of road and slow down when you see a big pothole up ahead. You may want to avoid driving during Buffalo's peak rush hours of 7 am to 9 am and then 3 pm to 5 pm. If you need to be on the road during these times, consider adding a GPS to your rental contract in order to help you circumvent the slowest of the traffic congestion.
  • Since Peace Bridge in Buffalo connects the United States to Canada, you may be interested in driving your Buffalo convertible car rental across the border. However, before you attempt this, discuss it with the car rental agency when you pick up your vehicle. Many car rental agencies will prohibit specialty cars, such as convertibles, from leaving the country. If they do grant you permission to cross the border, they need to issue you a free Canadian non-resident card, which is proof of insurance that you must show to border officials. Without this card, you will not be allowed into Canada in your Buffalo convertible car rental.
  • Book your convertible car rental in Buffalo at least 1 day before your trip in order to get a below-average price
  • February is typically the cheapest month to rent a convertible car in Buffalo, with prices around ₪88 per day. The most expensive month is January, with average prices of ₪405 per day.

FAQs About Renting a Convertible Car in Buffalo

  • What's the minimum age for securing Buffalo convertible car rentals?

In Buffalo and throughout the state of New York, you only need to be 18 years old in order to rent a car. However, most car rental agencies will want you to be older than that in order to rent one of their convertibles. If you are under the age of 25, before you book your reservation, find out if the agency will rent a convertible to someone of your age and if they will apply a daily fee due to your age.

  • Do I need to purchase insurance for my Buffalo convertible car rental?

Whether you want to insure your rental vehicle using car rental agency insurance, coverage from your own personal car insurance policy, or insurance from your credit card, read the fine print so that you know exactly what is covered. You may want to purchase additional insurance when you arrive to collect your rental convertible just to make sure that you, the convertible, and any third parties are fully covered in case of a mishap.

  • What documents do I need to collect my Buffalo convertible car rental?

Representatives at the Buffalo car rental agency will want to see your current US driver's license. Any additional drivers must also be present and show their license. If you decide to forego car rental agency insurance, the car rental agency staff will most likely ask to see proof of your own insurance, so be prepared with either photocopies or screenshots of the insurance policy you intend to use. You also need a major credit card, such as Visa or MasterCard, in order to put down a deposit and pay for the rental.

  • How does KAYAK find such low convertible car rental prices?

KAYAK compares convertible car rental prices from all major car rental companies such as Thrifty, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, Payless and more to find you the best deal.

  • How much does a convertible car rental cost in Buffalo?

On average a convertible car rental in Buffalo costs ₪424 per day.

  • Which car rental companies in Buffalo rent convertible cars?

Car rental companies in Buffalo that rent convertible cars include Alamo, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National.

  • How much does it cost to rent a convertible car for a week in Buffalo?

On average a convertible car in Buffalo costs ₪2,969 per week (₪424 per day) to rent.

  • How much does it cost to rent a convertible car long term for a month in Buffalo?

On average a convertible car in Buffalo costs ₪12,726 per month (₪2,969 per week) to rent.

They wouldn't let me rent the car without a flight number because it was booked at the airport. This was not disclosed and now it's taking forever to get a refund because I used the pay later option through Affirm and now have to go through a dispute process. This is horrible!!!

I used to work in the rental car business so this is not coming from a perspective of entitlement but rather experience. This SUV that was rented was simply not cleaned at all. There was a complete lack of care by the Budget employees at the airport in Buffalo. I did not report this at the time because the walk to the car is far away from the counter and I had to get to my appointment. Complaining wouldn’t be necessary and waste everyone’s time if a job was done properly from the beginning.

I did not like it at all. Kayak is only a front runner for another corporation that takes your money and I never got a car when I got to my destination and I haven't gotten all my money back yet. I did not understand that you're not really going to kayak kayak is just looking for cars for somebody else who may or may not get your car for you. I didn't like the experience at all and I never got my money back from kayak. I only got partial funds back from a corporation called QEEQ there you go.

I didn't end up getting my car. I waited in line for over an hour, saw them check out less than 10 people, and was then told they didn't have cars available for anyone except the people that had reserved a minivan. I ended up canceling my reservation and booking a car with Enterprise the next day. If at all possible, I'll never use Hertz again.
