Heather at the counter was friendly. But we reserved a Nissan pathfinder or similar full size suv described as 7 passenger 4 bags. I screenshotted the Kayak description. A pathfinder is 165 cu. Ft. They only offered us a little Kia Sorento that yes has 7 passenger but with 3rd row up there’s only room for 1 bag. Sorento is only 120cu. Ft. Huge difference. We had 6 people and 2 bags and 2 backpacks we couldn’t fit in it. The only option we were given was to pay an additional $200 a day to get a suburban. That was a huge expense we weren’t expecting so we had to cut some things out of our vacation. I will never do business with Kayak or Dollar again. I’m traveling this week for work and using expedia and enterprise zero issues and even was offered an upgrade at no charge if I’d like. I travel a lot and am disappointed in both Kayak and Dollar they started our vacation off on the wrong foot. Dollar blames Kayak for bad descriptions.Reviewed 2024 Dec 11

Got to the counter for pickup and they were out of cars. Didn’t do anything to help, said we would need to contact customer service. Ended up giving us a lower-category car hours later with no refund (paid for an SUV, got a small car). I reserved a Ford Transit (or similar) 12-passenger van. The reason I booked this rental with Dollar via KAYAK was specifically because pricing was competitive and seemed better than most other options. I booked this more than 3 months prior to our trip. Once I arrived at the Dollar rental desk, I was told that my reservation was for a 7 passenger minivan. Despite me showing emails with the reservation details showing the rate I paid and showing the type of vehicle, Dollar refused to honor the reservation. I ultimately was charged more than $500 extra for the upgrade and additional fees for the full size van, and I definitely could have booked it for cheaper than that back when I originally reserved the vehicle. I got screwed because of a communication breakdown between Dollar rental car and their online booking agent (KAYAK) and Dollar refused to accept any accountability for it…the question is, will Kayak take any responsibilityReviewed 2024 Dec 04

I paid for insurance but i am not sure the insurance information provided was correct. I am told by my credit card company that the car insurance on rental vehicles is included as a feature on my credit card. I didn't even get a car. Upon landing in CLT I saw I had received information so I could check -in. Ad we taxied I tried but kept getting notices of car unavailable, please upgrade. I would never rent from dollar again. They try to bully you into paying for extra's and use language that misleads you, until you look at your bill and have an extra $200-$300 worth of charges. If you're looking to rent a car, go somewhere else!Reviewed 2024 Nov 30
