I made a reservation on kayak for a car that enterprise did not have. This caused a one hour and 45 minute delay waiting at a terminal in the rain and my having to call around town to locate a vehicle. This is mostly a problem with kayak, who should not Make reservations for cars that are not available.

Horrible. The car broke down, and they don't offer delivery for replacement vehicles, so I had to get a ride all the way back to the airport to get a replacement vehicle, and they didn't even offer a refund/discount of any kind... Absolutely horrible customer service

Nickel and dime everything. The pick up line was more then 50 min long with two kids after a long flight and we had prepaid. I get it’s busy, but it was awful.

The Tampa Thrifty rental car line wrapped the entire rental concourse and was 2 hour + wait. They overbook and under staff. We quickly cancelled our reservation with Thrifty and booked quickly with enterprise. Won't go through Thrifty again.

I didn't appreciate the "nickle and diming"; the final price was almost 3 times what was advertised with all the added fees and taxes etc. They should be far more transparent with the final cost to the customer. Staff are upselling to the benefit of the business and not necessarily that of the customer. I was offered a transponder but after closer inspection it would have been cheaper for me to pay for the tolls. This was very disappointing; I recommend better training and customer sensitivity workshops.

The pickup experience was horrendous, took almost 2.5 hours. The initial check-in line was extremely long. Once check-in was completed and instructed to go to lower floor to pickup car, you had to find an employee to put your name on a waitlist. The system was chaotic and unorganized. The entire process took 2.5 hours, I was late to meet friends for lunch and delayed my entire schedule. I was only in town for a night and required me to make alternate arrangements. Lastly, I was billed incorrectly and charged for refueling, even though I returned it at the same level I took the car.

My experience with the TAMPA AIRPORT DOLLAR RENTAL HAS BEEN UTTERLY DISGUSTING. They put me and my mother in a 2018 Nissan Rogue when here we are a few weeks shy of 2024. When you turned the wheel it made a horrible sound, the charging ports didn't work, the trunk didn't open and when you were at a stop light or idling it would shake and sputter. So I decided to drive 45 minutes back to the airport to get something better. Upon doing so they seemed to be annoyed with me. So after feeling that way I didn't want to complain when the car they exchanged with REEKED LIKE CIGARETTES. Me and my mother decided to just go buy some air fresheners and deal with it. We never mentioned the smell and now I 100% regret it. A few days after returning from Vacation I check my credit card and notice they charged me $400 dollars. I call customer service and am told I was charged that for a "cleaning fee for smoking in the vehicle" so I am now in the process of trying to dispute this charge. I have asked several times to see the notes from the previous person that rented the car to see if it was noted about it smelling like smoke and was told they aren't allowed to give me that information. DISGUSTING SCAMMING COMPANY.

Had the choice of picking which vehicle I would like to drive. The Nissan Rogue that I was given had 54,000 plus miles and shook when driven above 60 miles per hour. It had a number of door dings which concerned me before I drove off the lot. The attendant was helpful in reassuring me that none of the blemishes identified would register as damage that I caused when returned.

The rental office was not at the airport. Had to arrange our own transportation to get the car. Even though this was a pre- paid rental, the Hertz office still came up with additional charges. This seems wrong. We were quoted a rate and paid for it. Adding extra fees on arrival is a low life scam.

Was in Tampa for 5 hours for a funeral. Chose to rent at TPA International Airport from a major rental agency to save every minute I could. Your search engine put me in an off-site location miles from the airport. I never noticed your bait and switch until I went to pick up the car at the counter. Pissed away the original reservation and had to overpay for the walk up rate at Hertz. There is no reason why this should happen when the search specifically targets a location. If I was buying an airline ticket to Tampa I shouldn't expect to land in Orlando.... or is that covered somewhere in your fine print too?

My flight got moved back so I had a friend with AAA who has free add driver to policy. the sales people at pick up were rude and not helpful. the vehicle and everything else was great. Just one bad sales person at hertz tampa..

The car that was given to us needs attention: very dirty interior, ripped carpet, no windshield wiper fluid, passenger seat belt was very difficult to latch and unlatch (needed assistance from the driver).

Horrible - do not book with NextCar. They denied my car insurance because I was not the primary policyholder. I have full coverage insurance, so there was no logistical reason to deny it. The supplemental insurance cost as much as the rental itself. I was never told at the time of booking that I would be forced to use their insurance if I wasn’t the primary policyholder. I was only told so 24 hours out from my booking. I’m actively trying to get a refund for this.

Maybe I didn't read the fine print, but I didn't see anything when booking about our own insurance. We forgot our insurance card and had to jump through hoops to prove we had insurance. It's probably an upsell for you guys if we purchase insurance, but I feel that when booking, it should stick out more. It would have reminded me to bring my insurance card along. I'm about saving money, not paying for insurance I already have.

Pickup was done in the outside parking lot where it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit. They also charged and extra $2 per toll. Got a $55 bill for an hour drive (there and back). Criminal!

Pick up location was easy to get to, avoided having to go to airport.

Cons:

During pick up I specifically asked for the car to be free of smoke smell. Staff assured that they flag cars that smell like smoke in the system and that the car I was getting was good. This was not the case - the car reeked! When I asked for a different car they said none was available in the same class. They only offered to wipe it and spray with Lysol. It was a holiday weekend and impossible to rent another car in short notice so had to deal with smoke smell.

Not charging us twice would be a start. Let’s see, there were 8 people in line at drop off and by the time it was our turn, the rental was late. They tried to charge us for the day because of it. Yeah, no. Just an absolute disaster at St. Augustine drop off. The poor kid in there had no idea what he was doing.

When we got to Tampa to pick up the car the office was closed. I called budget, they told me they close at 2 on Saturday, my pick up time. I asked if they had a car at the airport, they said no. I asked if they were open at the office on Sunday I would pick up the car on Sunday. They said they open at 9 but my car was no longer available , event though I didn't pick it up and they were closed all night. !!!! Called enterprise at the airport they got me a car immediately at the airpot. Will NEVER use you for anything. You don't even know my car wasn't picked up and I even got emails from you telling me my contract was cancelled. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

Stay open or not accept the pickup time if you're closed DUH !

I was told no smoking in the vehicle, it would be a $250 fine. No problem, I don’t smoke. When we opened the vehicle’s doors the smell of stale cigarettes hit us immediately, and the upholstery was covered in cigarette burns. It was disgusting. I went up to the kiosk to complain and all they said was they’d make a note of it on my paperwork. I won’t be renting from them again.

Rental indicated that they had 24 hours service - they did not. When flight was rescheduled for next day and I called to tell them, they would not guarantee the car I had paid in advance for, or any car, would be available despite having reserved and paid in advance for a car for 4 days. Also said I that if i did get there the next day more than 12 hours past the original time the rental would not be valid because it would have already been canceled in their system and I would have to make a new reservation. This is even though i was calling to let them know my rescheduled flight was 24 after the original cancelled flight. They said they could not hold a car even though I had already paid and could not give me a refund for any portion of my money. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN and will make it my personal mission to let everyone I know what a terrible experience Europcar/Fox Rental Car was.

The cars we were given were in terrible condition- We left the lot in one car that had parts falling off of the interior and rattling sounds in the dashboard. We came right back (customer service was friendly). They traded this car in for another - old beat up car that was in poor condition.

Better to go with a major car rental company. They make their money by extorting people into having to use their liability insurance. You need $300,000 liability insurance, which they ask for. The first line of my insurance says Liability 300,000. No good! They say personal property liability also needs to be $300,000. Long drive from TPA airport. Long wait time at office with one after another of angry customers.

Required $2000 deposit and full copy of CDW docs to use your own insurance. Or required &100 deposit and charged $89 for a 1 1/2 day rental. Most companies accept credit card coverage or insurance card. Car was clean but had a strange noise Wind driven on the highway and showed a need for service before I was going to return it. Also when I went to drop the car off the office was closed and other customers that were trying to rent cars had been turned away and had to take Ubers to the destination. They said that the company had been denied insurance and shut down. I finally found someone to take the keys for the car and ended up paying $36 to take an Uber back to the airport because there was no shuttle

When I got to the airport and called for a shuttle to take me to the car rental location, no one answered. I kept calling, and finally, after close to an hour, a person finally answered the phone. When I told him about the reservation, he said it had been cancelled because I was late. I told him the plane was late, but that made no difference. At the airport, the two people at the information desk said that other people had also had difficulty getting through to the location in order to get the shuttle.

Nothing, no customer service AT ALL!!!!!!!! It was wrong location pick up instead at the Tampa airport, the airport AVIS rep offer me the same car for the DOUBLE PRICE!!!! When I went to the pick up location, spend $40.00 on Uber, who is going to compensate my inconvenience?, the location was closed. When I called the next day, the service rep told me that car was not available and hang up the phone. Will NEVER use your service in the future and posted the same response on all the social media. Your service is horrible and the worth it could be.

The location called one hour before the car was to be picked up an canceled the reservation. Left a voicemail. No attempt to find at another location, give a voucher for another trip. I called back a couple times and eventually gave up and decided to enjoy my vacation. Ride shares were scarce and it was extremely inconvenient. First night we didn’t have food. Very stressful experience.

Would have been nice to know up front that it costs an extra $10 to extend your rental agreement...would have been nice to know upfront it costs an extra $10 to change drop off location. It would have been critical to know my rental price would jump from $17 per day to $50 per day because I had to extend my rental agreement due to my car not being repaired yet. I am extremely dissatisfied.

Absolutely terrible company. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have asked for a refund and had to go with a different rental upon landing in Florida. They tried to take a $3000 deposit even though we already had external insurance. They advertise that they're in the airport which they are not, and they didn't even offer a shuttle - they told us to Uber. Upon looking at reviews, many people said that they kept and wouldn't return the deposits claiming unreal damages. They also tried to do additional toll charges and other random shady things, that they communicated through text. Also, when they asked for the $3000 deposit, and we tried to escalate it since it was completely unheard of, they didn't say anything and changed the contract back to $500 without telling us (to delete the evidence). Terrible, terrible, terrible company. Pay more and go with a reputable service.

the phone listed on the website did not work so I took uber from Tampa airport to the rental address, the agent stated I need insurance card cannot take credit card insurance, then lured me to buy the 24 USD per day insurance, later did not give any print outs, as if is there is an accident I can look at the email? really? No rental agreement via printed paper, do you think the cops will believe me it is on email? better get the car at the airport as they do not fool customers. very poor service, it is bait and switch, you list one price on the website then charge another in person. Not doing this again, thanks for nothing.

Airport shuttle from airport: Good communication, minimal wait. They called my insurance company to make sure I was covered. I already knew I was, so that was a time waster. Our car 4dr Mercedes was clean however, it was dented in 3-4 places and had a broken headlight cover. Interior smelled like smoke. The car worked and did its job getting around. Passenger window would stick or not work going up it had to be rolled up from the driver side. When I got the car, I told them when I return I will be here around 6:30pm. We can get a shuttle back to the airport correct? I was told yes. Upon returning the car at 6:30pm we were told they were closed (closed but people were still there) and they wouldn’t drive us to the airport. He said his coworker explained they were closed at 6pm and don’t do shuttles after 6pm. Kayak and the rental company promises airport shuttles. We were not given instructions on how to drop the car off if there had been no one there. We were also told our 6:30pm arrival wouldn’t be a problem for a shuttle. The employee took us to the airport in his personal car which was spotless and kind of him. This has soured my experience with both Kayak and the AZ rental company

I was scheduled to pick up my car on Friday, June 30th I got a telephone call from the office on June 28th stating that they did not have any Minivans available. They didn't even offer me a upgrade to accommodate my family. However, they did give me my money back. I was left with having to pay more money to get the vehicle we needed.

Never rented car, They changed insurance policy information on me when I arrived, Never disclosed information at booking, then wanted to charge an outrages 60$ per day for insurance. This is unacceptable, terrible business practice.

This was a scam. They were requesting that a customer have libility insurance of >$500 000. The other problem is that they did not have a class of car I paid for, but 2 classes bellow it and they told me that is what I can get for my money. I asked to talk to manager, but they told me they do not have one. I did not use their"services".

No website for Tampa at all. Phone number rang to voicemail and it said it was full. No regular pickups at all. Listing says at TPA airport but it is actually offsite, but since I call for a pickup it dodnt make a difference. Scam embarassment.

I was in line an hour and a half. When I got to the counter thy said I was 30 minutes late for the reservation so they did not give me a car. I ubered back to the airport and got a car from Thrifty car rental.
