HERZ Goldmember nr.62347703 R.J.L. van Vliet The requisted car was not avalable and the only replacement they were willing to give me without extra paying was an open pick-up with no projection cover for the laugage. I rejected, and there was no other chose given to pay an extra addition fee for the only upgrade car available. I had no choice otherwise I had no car and was stranded with my family (wife + 3 children). I will make an official complaint about the hole situation.Reviewed 2022 Jan 12

They did not have a car ready for me. And told me I was 8th on the waiting list. They said they would call me but did not. They gave me a number for head office. This caused me huge disruption to my holiday. This is the first time Hertz has ever let me down. Not even an apology.Reviewed 2022 Jan 01

Insurance confusionCons:I called Hertz three times trying to get cost of insurance for I arrive at the company to rent the car I was not able to get a quote for what the insurance would cost . At the Hertz pick up location I was quoted a price over US$300 for insurance for a two day rental. I then asked about a lower-priced insurance off for and they found a second coat of over $200 for insurance for the two days . Thankfully I have insurance from my credit card so I was able to decline this insurance . After I decline the insurance the person at the counter then wanted to sell me some documents in case I got in an accident for US$50 for a few pages printed material . I felt like this $50 price for a few pages of printed material that the company should’ve provided for free was out and out theft . At this point they inform you that my debit card would not be able to be used for the purchase of the rental . Thank goodness I had additional credit cards and was able to complete the transaction . I do not feel that Hertz should be associated with a company that does this kind of extreme pricing for insurance and does not inform the customer prior to arriving at the location of all of the additional cost .Reviewed 2018 Jan 20

No cars despite reservation 1 month in advanceCons:Showed up to the airport in Merida with a reservation made 1 month prior. Said there were no cars, that the situation was "complicated." The desk agent even tried to pretend that I had just made the reservation that day. Shady all around, and it screwed up our trip so we had to completely change our itinerary.Reviewed 2018 Jan 09

Overpriced, complicated process and poor vehicleCons:Check in took over an hour and was at a different location then we were told. We eventually got the vehicle and it was fine to drive the only issue was it was terrible on fuel and cost a lot to refill. Drop off was confusing and we were lucky we arrived early as our booking was until 6pm but on arrival they advised if we had of arrived after 5pm we would have had to take the vehicle to the airport drip off which obviously would have been very inconvient and was lucky we arrived back before 5pm.Reviewed 2017 Dec 24

Cons:The actual price was almost twice the estimated price. After haggling with the guy at the counter I was able to get it down a bit, but still ended up paying more than expected.Reviewed 2017 Jul 31

No Cars. Go.Cons:Made the reservation only to be told they had no cars and I would be put on a waiting list. That was over 5 days ago and I still haven't heard from anyone at Hertz. Will not use them again.Reviewed 2017 Apr 18
