Extremely expensive of rented directly from hertz, had to extend 2 days due to flight cancellation and they asked for 210 usd. However it was 100 usd of tented through booking.com Horrible, I had to drive all the way there when they could have done it directly. The staff at Hertz in Belize were so pleasant and easy to deal with. The cost was a bit high compared to other options I have used in Belize on past trips. I would definitely shop around next time before committing to Hertz again. Overall, I was satisfied with my experience.Reviewed 2026 Feb 19

Terrible experience. I booked a car and travelled to New Zealand thinking I have reserved a pick up truck. The old man with the silly accent at the car agency said no he does not have any car for me and he only has a pay load truck that is not suitable for driving around. I literally would have taken that truck but he refused to give it. I had to pay $2500 for 10 days car rental from this shady Chinese run car rental called Yes Rental in Christchurch. Way to go Kayak and Hertz for ruining a vacation like that. I had million other options and I chose Hertz as I thought I was booking through a dependable website and company. I hope one day you who is reading this end up in a similar situation and be stranded or pay $2500 for 10 days rental.Reviewed 2026 Feb 19

We would have liked for them to have a car for us! They did not and we ended up paying nearly twice as much because it was so last minute.....not cool at all! The girl was nice and apologetic but that didn't get us a car,we had to go to eurocar. I don't know if we can be compensated but don't offer something that isn't available....by the way we were on time....Reviewed 2026 Feb 19

When I booked the Hertz car they booked me at a downtown location and not the airport. I had never been to Kansas City so I just assumed the location was off site and I would take a tram from the airport. When I got to the Hertz desk at the airport they said I was in the wrong place and they had no cars that I could rent. By the time I got into town they told me they had given my car away and they did not have a car for me. They said they would try to get me one the following day and they would call me. They never did. A terrible way to treat a Hertz Gold member.Reviewed 2026 Feb 17

Poor costumer service. Rude. No clear communication. Agent told us to they were going to let us know when our car was ready, but they gave our car to someone else and skipped our turn in the waiting list.
