The shuttle service is lacking compared to other car rentals. Customers arriving from other countries may not be able to call them for a pickup. Some kind of texting option would work better. Also, there was no early shuttle available to return to the airport. They were helpful and arranged a cab.5.6 Fair

When we arrived we discovered that I had reserved our vacation with one day missing. The “fix” for an 8 day rental, adding only one day, more than offered DOUBLED our expense. We will never use this company ever again.Thrifty

They didn't seem to know anything about the online booking system that I used, I ended up paying almost double because I wanted a GPS system which upgraded me to a nicer vehicle. However, I booked a Rav4 which is pretty comparable to a Chevy Esquire. I just feel like I overpaid for the upgrade.4.8 Mediocre

I only had the car 5 days and was charged the weekly rate. I was given only 1 day of insurance back when I brought it back early. On your website it doesn't mention the $30/day for insurance on top of the rental charge. I was led to believe at booking everything was included. Too expensive.10.0 Wonderful

the car was smaller than i expected from an SUV, but it worked out fine. also, i asked for a ski rack at time of reservation and also called thrifty the day before we went to vancouver. both times i was told that my request was recorded, but not guaranteed. so i thought there was a decent chance that i would get a ski rack since i requested it so far in advance. when we arrived at the pick up location, i was told that they do not have ski racks in that location and never have them available for customers. that was kind of weird.8.0 Very good

The first Jeep Cherokee's 4WD service light was on, the second Jeep Patriot was old, ratty and stunk of cigarette smoke, and the last option with AWD was a Chevrolet thing. We left and went to Hertz and got a brand new clean Jeep Wrangler instead.10.0 Wonderful

It was the right size.Cons:
Wait time was very long picking up the car, they seemed under staffed. The electronic and USB connections were not working! Therefore our phones would not charge and our GPS systems would not work!! The GPS system in the car was stuck on demo mode and kept shutting off after about two minutes. Navigation was a nightmare! They also failed to tell us that the gas cap lid was a spring loaded push plate, so we wasted a lot of time looking for a release lever before we figured it out.9.2 Wonderful

The car was very nice - clean, newer and worked well. Drop off was easy.Cons:
1. When we picked up the car, the driver had to be the name of the person who made the reservation. I had intended for my husband to be the driver, but since I had used my own name for the reservation, I had to be the driver, which I was not comfortable with. We have never before had this experience and we have rented many cars in the past. We were told the only way to change the driver is to cancel the reservation and start all over again with a new reservation. As we had arrived at 9pm and it was getting late and we had had a tiring long day, we did not want to start all over. 2. Another thing we found annoying was that there were $103 of additional taxes and fees we had to pay upon pick-up that we were not advised of when we made the reservation. When I reserved the car on line, it was because Hertz seemed to have the lowest price. With the additional $103 that we ended up having to pay, it was probably the most expensive of all of the companies. And this was not for additional insurance or anything like that. It was taxes and fees slapped on. The attendant said it had been in the small print. Again, we have never before had this experience with a rental car. Usually, the price you see in the large print is the price you pay and no more. Because of this, we would not rent from Hertz again.6.4 Okay

I liked that they had the vehicle we needed available. The vehicle was clean. The pick up went well.Cons:
They said using my insurance was ok. Didn't explain that they would refuse it if something happened. We had a small chip in th corner from a rock that was thrown from a pick up in front of us. We filed a claim. When we returned the car she wouldn't talk to us about it just kept repeating no third parties no third parties handed me a bill for$250 and wouldn't explain anything. Refused. Horrible customer service and we will not be using hertz again.Dollar

They did not have my car although I specifically called to make sure the car was going to be there. I was on the phone with the reservations central for about an hour and they refused to talk to the office people. They sent me to Hertz (next door) for double the price, who has the same owner. Pros:
We landed in Vancouver (3:35pm) and hurried through customs to try to get our rental location by the time they closed (4pm). There was no way a taxi cab could've got us there in time, but the gentleman at the Dollar cat rental stayed a little later than he needed to and actually picked us up from the airport! The rental was in excellent condition and was great on fuel economy. Rental/return was easy and hassle free. Overall I was VERY satisfied with the price and customer service. Highly recommending this location to anyone in the Vancouver area!Europcar
