I ordered the car online and asked for it at 11am. Got there at 10:45 and only got the car an hour later. When i tried to get a couple extra hours before returning it, they wanted to charge me $65/hour. That's almost as much as i was paying per day. When i returned the car they added some random $15 charge called "early return". I waited and spoke to them again and got a refund but even the person helping me couldn't tell me what that charge was for so if i hadn't questioned it I would've been charged extra for nothing (or for returning the car early??).

The location is convenient. But otherwise everything went wrong. You should not deal with this Hertz location at 1270 Granville in Vancouver. They are dishonest. My online reservation price was $524.72 from Thursday 11am to the following Wed. 3pm....Technically considered a week.....7days. At pick up, the price became $622.26 including a $87.75 amount of "premium location charge" which was not included in the online price.....This was claimed as a charge by the airport Hertz because I booked within 24 hrs upon landing in Vancouver airport. Why was this not disclosed to me when I booked online? When I asked if spouse is automatically included as second driver, I was told it costs $13.50/day to add spouse. I called head office to verify and was told it's free if I am a CAA member.....Which the staff acknowledged...But why did he not mention it? Was he trying hard to make more money by not offering what his customers are entitled to? We were already at the location a whole hour trying to verify details by phone with customer service ....Since we felt we could not trust the staff. Eager to leave, we neglected to read every detail on the contract. The following Wed looking at the contract it stated that we must return car by 11am or suffer additional charge......And we did. But afterwards we gave it thought and concluded that one week means Thursday 11am to the following Thursday 11 am. We were cheated one day by returning car on Wed 11am instead of Wed 3pm as I originally planned. The few more hours before we needed to catch our flight could mean visiting the Vancouver Aquarium as originally planned. Rather, without a car, we could only wander about on the streets. It was the worst car rental.ecperience ever.

Where to start? We arrived at Hertz (790 Southwest Marine Drive, Vancouver) to collect our car at approximately 3pm on August 25th. Upon arrival, we were informed that we were late and, as a result, that our car had been given away, regardless of the fact that we'd paid our reservation in full. Asking how we were to be informed of this policy, the clerk swiftly pointed us to a tattered and seemingly illegitimate notice on the glass of his kiosk. He was quick to inform us that it is the third party rental platform's responsibility to make this policy known to the customer. Note that this was at no point communicated to us through the Kayak booking process. Stating that all small cars had been removed from the lot due to lack of space, he naturally only had larger SUV's available at a rate 40% higher than what we already paid. We dished out the cash to salvage 11 days worth of road trip and bookings. Besides the lack of communication and the surcharges, the rental process was made extremely unpleasant due to the lack of professionalism of the personnel. The clerk who served us on arrival was condescending, rude, and ultimately unhelpful. Moreover, when I needed to obtain more information from Hertz during our trip, Anesh reluctantly answered after 6 attempts. He clearly had better things to do and was very quick to get me off the phone. Long story short: avoid at all costs, unless you take pleasure in these sketchy dealings.

Worst experience of my life. Rented the car months ago for my wedding. Received a call the day before telling me they no longer had a car for me. Had to change all plans to accommodate travel to my destination wedding and meeting relatives from the US and making sure they arrived safely. Would not recommend HERTZ to my worst enemy.

Good rental but prices were too high. Also, no heads up on a $350 hold on my credit card account, which I didn't have readily available. I had to call my credit card company to allow it to happen. A heads up would have mitigated that problem. Also allowed debit to be a form of payment would be helpful.

I booked with Hertz for the first time. The quality of the vehicle was below my expectation, compared to other companies I have used before. I will not use Hertz ever again!

The car was greatHertz refused to honour the price from my booking confirmation, even when I showed it to them. They charged an additional $18 and said this happens sometimes when the car is booked through a third party site and refused to provide any assistance.

Good staff, easy booking and pickup, drop offI had requested a compact car, a mini van was given. High cost of fuel, though spaceous and comfortable car.

Nice car.Customer service agents. The desk person was odd, customer service seemed to be incidental to her. The lot attendant gave me a bit of attitude for being confused about how exactly to get out of their labyrinth underground parking lot.
